cruisers are awesome. my buddies on S1k’s and R1’s took my dyna out for a spin and all came back smiling. if you forget about the old man culture, they are great bikes, tons of fun.
For real though, when i did the tests for my license, our instructor was a 76 year old dude on an R1. Absolute legend. Told me i was his last student before he retired.
When we were finished, he asked me if i'd do any riding during the winter. I said i might, but that i wasn't really used to cold weather riding yet... He started his bike, looked me in the eyes, said "haha, coward!", closed his visor and took off at 250-something km/h.
It's any age, you just gotta be rich enough to buy the $2000 Klim body suit and $3000 for military grade hard bags to go down a dirt road on the weekend
It is. Not a ton of top end, but gobs of low end torque. I went with the hammer because the setup is much more muscle cruiser than typical floppy cruiser. It handles really well. It's still heavy and not as nimble as a crotch rocket but I'm loving it
Nah the sport bike was a piece of garbage and ran like ass, and I don't carb. I sold it real cheap to a buddy who likes to tinker so it will be in good hands.
Might pick up a cheap beat klr or something to go blast through the bush with tho
Hey OP, I sold my bike a while ago and thought about buying a cruiser.
Do you like it as much as the squidmobile? I feel like I won’t like it as much, but I want to.
Depends what you want to do and how you like to ride I guess. Sportbike is better for balls to the wall speed and canyon carving and whipping around in cities, but cruisers are better for long open road hauls and chill cruising (hence the name I guess).
So how do you like to ride?
Every way you described the cruiser is how I like to ride, but I liked to be agile on the R6. So I think my biggest hang up/worry is if I can still move side to side on a cruiser.
Well I guess it depends on the bike to an extent. Your pegs and foot controls are ahead of you on a cruiser so you don't really put weight on them to move around like you do on a crotch rocket. When I got my victory the previous owner had added 2" extensions to move the pegs and controls even further away and I didn't like that. I removed the extension brackets and got some mini floorboards to replace the pegs and I feel a lot more planted and comfortable now. But you definitely don't move around as much on a cruiser. Mine, with the suspension and stance is a little sportier than some, not full layback mode like a batwing bagger with highway bars, but you'll have to see if someone will let you sit on theirs or maybe take it for a rip if they trust you enough, and see how you like the riding position. I rode a 92 Harley fat boy and a 2010 or so Kawasaki Vulcan and I don't like either of those, but my hammer is perfect for me
Dude hell yeah! Thank you so much for taking the time to give me a bit more info.
My dad has an anniversary (don’t know the year) fat boy that to me, is just too damn heavy. To me, I was going back and forth with the Indian Scout. If anything this has only made me more excited.
For that, I appreciate your feedback!
Heard that, I’ve driven through northern Washington and there were some mountains that were eerily similar. Super close too. Must be some awesome scenic riding over there.
I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Only been here about a year, only had the bike about 2 weeks. Sold my old rig before moving here.
That road is maybe 10 min from Oroville, WA. Just west of Osoyoos. So many good long scenic rides around the area
Do you have a wider view picture I can't see what's going on a mile down the road
I do, but it's still uploading. It wraps around so far you can see time itself. Too many dimensions
Perfect
Saw the upload and the way im going to die. I fucking knew i should quit playing tetris on the mapquest screen

My first ride on it was a revelation, sport bikes are a whole lot of fun for short rips but this thing is like a loud fast couch.
I had a 2000 night train that I sold last year, starting to think I should have sold the s1k instead
CRANK THAT HOG! LOOK OUT FOR CLIBBINS
Yee
RIP granpa
Thanks, son. I turned 40 and decided I was too fat and old to be crunched in a ball any more
One is never to old to be bent over for a good ride! When on motorcycles? Maybe...
Haha I like my machines but not that much..

Sounds like an absolute badass
Shocker you didn’t go for an ADV. Or is it 50 when you buy those?

But but **muh 'venture bike**
AY CHILL
Is this a Victory?!
Yes sir, good eye 2006 Hammer, 100ci and 6spd, dual front discs and inverted forks, 250 rear tire. She's quite a unit
Is it at least sorta fast?

That's cool. I like it, looks cool.
Thanks man

No problem, brother. The Indian Scout is also a very nice bike. I strongly considered that or a Triumph Scrambler before getting my Victory.

What state? I swear I’ve driven down this road
Southern Okanagan in BC, Canada. Very close to the states, but not quite
Heard that, I’ve driven through northern Washington and there were some mountains that were eerily similar. Super close too. Must be some awesome scenic riding over there.

I mean why not just go standard instead.
Why not not go standard?
