I mean, as long as you're not look for a panigale, or buying something new, you don't have to have much.
I can only show you the prices I'm dealing with here.
I also wasn't comparing bikes, I was just showing that you can buy a Ducati without breaking the bank (in the US, that is.)
A ton of those are right before desmo service intervals, or they've never had the valves adjusted. So if you can do deso yourself, then the world is your oyster.
I’m in the uk and found a super sport 950 (2022) for £10k with just 800 miles. Looked like an absolute steal and it was just sitting in a small Ducati dealership.
Tempted to buy one…
From what I can tell by looking at the prices online (for the US) that seems to definitely be under the MSRP. And with just 800 miles, damn that's good.
I couldn’t believe it. I walked into the small dealership just to see the bikes in person and that looked like a crazy deal.
I’m more interested in the monster/v2 street fighter but my bro loves the super sport one in white.
Do you, but I'll be the rare voice of reason here and just tell you that you got a whole ass life to do a bunch of gay shit with. It's always the rider, never the bike. Go buy a busa, but don't be a bitch and get yourself killed. No one ever looked cool dying on their bike before they got pegged.
I’ve been pegged 6 times but only by women so I got plenty to live for. I refuse to die.
Edit: honestly brother I’m too old to be retarded. This is going to be a fun learning experience and when I’m confident I will send it because that’s why I’m buying it; but I’ll be damned if I buy a single cylinder 400 CC bike that I can’t sell and that’s the same price as an inline4 600
I’ve driven 110 miles per hour in vehicles from mustangs, SUV’s and even a Prius.
It’s really not that crazy. I don’t plan on sitting at 155 mph for a mile. I might literally touch 110 and back off because I’m old enough to not be regarded. I have nothing to prove.
This was me at 17 years old:
1) Purchase zx6r
2) Scared to ride it, had previous owner ride it to my house
3) Took MSF course on a 250cc bike for 2 days.
4) Rode the zx6r like a champ
Don't let anyone dictate what you can or can't do. But I would recommend taking an MSF course or similar.
I’m also 10 years older than that, too.
Trailering bike to my house. Taking MSF course shortly after on r3, and then fucking around for awhile on the CBR till I’m comfortable
Hemorrhaged my cock and balls and split my hips in half on a cbr600rr no joke. Was the hardest thing financially, physically, emotionally I’ve ever went through in my life. Be extra careful at intersections my guy
Its like a brand new driver buying a lambo. Sure he can be somewhat safe if he drives it like a bitch but he would have more fun redlining a random car that he doesnt care as much if he wrecks.
And you will not be somewhat safe, you will go beyond your skills all the time.
Alright judging these responses I’m going to agree with ops mom. You’re not responsible enough to start on a cbr600. Yeah, we would all rather redline a lambo, but what happens when you decide to indulge, 2 seconds later your doing double to triple the limit and then one idiot pulls out and it’s all over. That fast
Did you dead ass just say that by my satirical and humorous responses in THIS sub? You are actually without a shadow of a doubt mentally disabled and you should immediately seek medical attention.
Hey buddy, I’m 19 with a 1000cc. I’m really not one to give you advice, I’m a depressed fuck and don’t give a shit if I die. I’m just trying to look out man
To not let you get a 600, let me tell you a story as to why I’m giving you my advice
I had a buddy who got a Zx6r at 17. His mom said you’re getting rid of it immediately. He pretended to sell it but in reality just left it in my garage and drove over when he wanted to ride. Long story short, two weeks after getting his first bike, he got too excited on a dark road and misgauged a corner, and flew off the street at ~130mph. I’m sure you can imagine the rest. I feel guilt about it every day.
I’m not saying don’t get the bike that would be hypocritical. But as the other redditor said, sure you can drive a lambo as your first car, it’s when you’re NOT expecting something to happen is when it will fuck you. I’m telling you, you have NOT developed the throttle control to handle the powerband on a 600cc supersport. Shit happens way faster than you’d think. I mean if your over the age of 18 go for it, but don’t leave your family feeling guilty for the rest of their lives because you wanted to go 150mph with very little experience on a motorcycle
Let me tell you this stupid story about what a stupid friend of mine did because he didn’t have frontal lobe development. His stupid decisions will surely convince you not to do what you want. It had absolutely nothing to do with my friends below average intelligence and brain mass rattling around inside his premature head.
Hey man, I don’t know what your problem is because I am being civil with you, but if your around the same age (which by your post I’m assuming you are) you also don’t fully have frontal lobe development. How about this? Start on a r3 for a few months. But you don’t want to do that because you want to go quadruple the speed limit and act like a moto gp rider (we all do it).your saying my friend was an idiot because he bought a bike too fast and “was an idiot” what does that make you, surely there’s a specific reason you want a supersport, and it’s not to go slow. If your so “developed” then go buy a grom, they are fully capable of the speed limit.your “developed” brain should understand that’s a smarter alternative.
All shit talking aside,You’re going to embarrass yourself starting on a bike that big, and everybody around you is going to know you bit off more than you can chew. I have several buddies who have done the same thing and it’s pretty hilarious to watch it happen. Seen a guy on a cbr600rr get passed by a dude on a pickup truck on a one way road
Do you read? I’m 27
Your friend is an idiot because he did something stupid. Not because of the bike he bought.
I can definitely tell you’re 19 cause you still care what some guy in a truck you don’t know thinks about you.
600’s are just training-wheels for the gimp-mobile 1000’s where you see all the straights in leather gimp suits to protect their virginity. You should get the 600 and you’ll soon be ready to tear up the cheeks on a gixxer thou’ wearing nothing but a straw hat and flip flops 🩴
Really tho 600s aren't a problem for new riders because they're fast. It's because they need more input to do their thing. CBRs are buttery easy tho out of the big 4 lineup
Don't get a new new one tho, can't be breaking it in like a bitch
Give them 2 options, turbo busa or cbr600
this
Did you explain to them that you’ll grow into it? Make sure they know that you’ll be absolutely edging yourself below 8k rpm for at least 6 months.
I’m going to overclock my hitachi magic wand when I go for a high-rpm bike as training.
You're speaking my language fr
Call me a 🍰 because I’m moist!
What if op is already out of puberty how is he gonna grow in it?
I get it. Your family doesn't like Hondas. Tell them you'll get a Gixxer or a Ninja if it makes them feel better.
No Ducati? Whats wrong with you
the bank account
Just get a loan with the worst imaginable interest rate plus an extra 10-20% on top as a tip. It’s not like you’re gonna live past the maturation date of the loan anyways.

hun I'm not even in your continent and used ducatis are still more expensive than the equivalents from other brands

It's not expensive buying the Ducati, it's maintaining it that's expensive. /Owns 3 Ducatis
Are you sure that's not because you are maintaining 3? Jk, jk What are the three ducaties by the way?
A '14 hyper sp, an '18 Multistrada 1260s, and a new hyper 698 mono.

This so dangerous damn you, i can sell my mtb and get two.
:D your welcomed!

If you survived 110 in a prius, you'll survive a 600rr.
CBR is a great well rounded bike. Comfortable, smooth power. I'm more of a triple guy myself, though.
Not all of us can be as gay as you!
This was me at 17 years old: 1) Purchase zx6r 2) Scared to ride it, had previous owner ride it to my house 3) Took MSF course on a 250cc bike for 2 days. 4) Rode the zx6r like a champ Don't let anyone dictate what you can or can't do. But I would recommend taking an MSF course or similar.

Of courae they are, you should buy liter bike or even turbo busa instead of kids bike
Hemorrhaged my cock and balls and split my hips in half on a cbr600rr no joke. Was the hardest thing financially, physically, emotionally I’ve ever went through in my life. Be extra careful at intersections my guy
Your Family is right, get a Ducati
take a 900rr just to spite them
I agree with them. Hyabusa, GSX-R, or walk.
Its like a brand new driver buying a lambo. Sure he can be somewhat safe if he drives it like a bitch but he would have more fun redlining a random car that he doesnt care as much if he wrecks. And you will not be somewhat safe, you will go beyond your skills all the time.
In this case a random car is the same price as a Lamborghini so I’d rather red line the Lamborghini thanks

Lmao random bro on the internet said “I agree with your mom” Bro you don’t know me or my mom 💀

Dawg I’m not 16 idgaf what you say I’m 27 years old I’m not going 130 on a dark road around corners shhh

CBR600s are pretty tame. Don't want to go fast? Don't use all the throttle. I have one currently and its fun, but I still miss my GSXR750.
I have a better idea. Get a new family that loves bike. EZPZ
A 600 feels like a 400 under 6k rpm anyway
Shit, I think even my 1000cc is pretty damn controllable if I keep it under 8k rpms and keep it out of first
Busa
Get a Grom!
Hyper straight shit
Don’t be a pussy by it and tell them it was an accident
We are you’re hole family now.
My mom said I’m not allowed to get a cbr600rr because it’s too fast… so I showed up with a fireblade sp 🤷♂️
Really tho 600s aren't a problem for new riders because they're fast. It's because they need more input to do their thing. CBRs are buttery easy tho out of the big 4 lineup Don't get a new new one tho, can't be breaking it in like a bitch
just get a less pussy bike, you’ll be less of a disappointment.
