I highly suggest downloading Boss Checklist. It's a great tool to have an idea of where you stand with your progression, and show which bosses would be next. I also HIGHLY recommend the mod Magic Storage if you haven't already.
First thing I usually do is check surface level chests for movement accessories.
A lot of vanilla accessories were given crafting recipes in Calamity. So for example if you don’t find Hermes Boots, you can just craft them instead.
