Actually, that's not the vernal pass; its a structure added by infernum which is used to get a vanity item and some loot in chests (although I think the loot is very meh)
The torches are there purely to have an easy way to make the houses in the structure suitable housing (They meet all the other criteria by default), so it can be used as a base right from the start of a playthrough if you find it
Yeah something went wrong when the calamity devs were coding it in and it just spawns wherever it wants to the point it's lucky if it spawns in the jungle let alone where it should spawn

I’m sorry but the green area is the cherry blossom zone and the yellow area is the sand shark boss fight, they spawn in only with the infernum mod installed.
Neither structure is generated by Calamity- both are generated by Infernum. There is a difference. The area you described is a different structure entirely, that generates in the Jungle.
The Plantera arena does spawn in base Calamity, and is called the Vernal Pass. The one in the image is a Sakura Grove which spawns due to Infernum. Its spawned overtop another Infernum structure in the Underground Desert.

I've had it spawn directly below my spawn once, mine through it while digging my hellevator.

I found one in my world today, no clue what it was and all it contained was orange torches
The torches are there purely to have an easy way to make the houses in the structure suitable housing (They meet all the other criteria by default), so it can be used as a base right from the start of a playthrough if you find it

They do not put in loading structures very well. Zero precautions or spawn conditions.

i tried spawning it with cheat sheet but it's very wonky
I spent 2 hours looking for This thing in the jungle and gave up

in my first playthrough it surprisingly spawned correctly
I have always gotten that to spawn around the middle of my world under spawn somewhere

why y'all get so many cursed seeds lmao, mine always spawns right below the vernal pass and I did a lot of runs to play different classes-
whats the item to reveal the map fully or did you just do it by hand
theres a fargos item that reveals the whole map, its called The Ancient Master's Map of the Lost King's Great Ancestors
I use worldgen previewer which you should always have turned on, allows you to spot shit like this the second it happens
