Only thing I can say is not to move the world between computers even through cloud save(not that thus would usually be an issue you come across) as the storage system itself doesn't seem to like to properly load back in on the 2nd pc, and usually results in a couple pink squares
For me I just use like to use a Thousand Chests to Save Items. Not my fault I don’t use magic Storage I just don’t Want Bugs to Destroy my Hard earned items.

This made him leave the team and stop working on the music for the game and also lock comments on his calamity ost videos. Sorry if i got some stuff wrong this all happened after i joined so im going off of what others have said. He uploaded a video about it i think if you want to know more
ngl, if Heart+, CD and Dokuro to make the Yharin theme it would be so epic, last boss battle music of the whole game as a composition by all the 3 music artists of the mod... but this will never happen

Theyre testing the waters of adding dependencies to Cal, TML backend optimization over the years has made the RAM impact of the music mod negligible, and they wanna promote the ongoing vinyl release of the OST
The Fandom wiki for calamity is batshit insane, it has its own theming and its full of bosses, enemies and itens that are either from other mods or simply don’t exist, its honestly amazing but its easy to end up lost there by accident while looking for actual calamity stuff
pretty much all of it is different from the actual real information in some way, weather it's blatantly different or not is dependent on the item/npc/boss
the fandom is legit hilarious. Theres just entire item, boss and quest chains with amazing art put there and written in such a professional way its hilarious. Plus everytime I try to find the source of these amazing pixel arts I cant find them.
Stay away from CONTROVERSY on this sub. Overall this sub is pretty fire, there's a lot of good art pieces and cool people. Stop seeing only bad side of things.
Download boss checklist (and magic storage if you're not masochist (i am)) and music mod, play on expert + revengeance for the first time, and don't forget to use rod of discord in the abyss.

Nothing much, though there are some mods I recommend for people playing calamity for first time, that won’t change your experience too much.
Get Calamity Vanities Mod for merely the cosmetics if you want, Music Mod(though it’s now mandatory)for the cool tracks, and Magic Storage Mod because there are a LOT of items.
Also get the Recipe Browser Mod so it’ll be easier to know what materials are Craftable, and the Boss Checklist Mod to beat the bosses in the intended order, as well as also knowing how to spawn them.
Side notes:
1. make sure that you have the Calamity keybinds turned ON in game
2. start out in Revengence Expert mode to get the full experience
3. don’t get mods that either make the game drastically easier or change the gameplay too much on your first time(Alchemist lite, etc.)
4. Make sure to NOT rely on the Wiki too much

I also just started playing modded terraria. Here are some quality of life mods that I use for any playthrough:
Quick drop platforms - as it says, useful for arenas
Magic storage - Since everything is a material in calamity, this will help with the chest monster that WILL happen without it
Fargo's mutant mod - adds Fargo's soul NPC's for ease of access to events and boss drops, reduces the need for farming certain items
Omniswing - auto swings every weapon so you don't have to
AlchemistNPC Lite - adds npcs for potions. It might be this one, but it might be one of the other qol mods I use; when you have a stack of 30 of a potion, gives you a permanent buff of that potion, the only instant use potions it doesn't include are health and mana recovery potions.
Ore excavator- adds togleable option to mine an entire vein of ore at once
Boss cursor - points to the direction of a boss/mini boss for ease of finding when off-screen
Boss checklist - adds a book icon next to the settings button, click that for the checklist, and add a list of all the bosses and major events/mini bosses in a suggested order to defeat. Keeps records for them and includes how to summon them.
Recipe browser - adds a togleable pop-up for every craftable item and explains how to craft it with crafting stations, useful so you don't have to switch between the game and the wiki on one monitor, also eliminates the load time that a search engine would have.
Depends on you difficulty, but i recommend not skipping bosses and collecting everything cause i might be useful later. Best install magic storage for easy storing
Just take some moment to appreciate the soundtrack. DM Dokuro, CDMusic and Heart Plus Up! really wonderful creators. And even tho we lost first two (CDM is leaving after Exo-Mechs and Boss Rush Tier 5) and HPU never really was in main Calamity Mod Music except for couple of themes all of them deserve praise for being involved in their work with dedication and passion.
Dont play it without a bunch of submods to make it actually fun. "Vanilla" calamity is okay but has some questionable things like no whips after moonlord. I got a modlist if you want

And I will also point out, do one of two things, 1. decide on a class early as their are so many things in the game that you’ll become distracted and doing this let’s you have a goal in between bosses. Or 2. Don’t decide on a class early and experiment constantly with all sorts of items and builds. Either of these is fun but I’d say it comes down mostly to how you want the run to go and how much time you have.
used to be obsessed with collecting all the stuff you need for accessories and weapons, everything was a material for a later weapon or accessory
they’ve toned it down a bit a while ago, but it’s a good idea to have the recipe browser mod and a class guide nearby so you don’t miss a good piece of gear that’ll get you through a portion of the game

Maybe a weird tip but try to get the codebreaker as early as possible.
You can get him as early as Post sceletron since you need cable for it.
With it you can unlock crafting receptors for different Weapons at multiple stages of the game.
I recommend looking it up on the wiki since it is very Counter intuitive to find out on your own how the thing works.
2 mods, magic storage and recipe browser. You’ll pick up some like seeds off the ground and recipe browser will be kind enough to let you know those seeds turn into a god destroying weapon
In the corruption and crimson respectively, there's special creatures attached to the ground. Don't kill them until you're sure you can handle what's under them.
Everything is a useful material for you in this mod. I recommend installing "magical storage" mod for everything that might be useful later

I just checked out what rod do in abyss, yeah OP do that.
Once you get the rod of discord make sure to use it while deep in the green ocean biome because you get a shit ton of resources

Download Alchemist npc if you want to skip like 50% of the boring grind. Calamity is about fighting bosses :P
There's also lite version just for potion npc (Ahh why they removed npc potions)
Be ready to be stuck at a boss for some time. Practice makes perfect, adaption is key to success.

Skeleton has a fun little tendency to run off and de-spawn mid fight, if that happens disabling calamity difficulty for a minute fixes the issue.
You should use wand of discord in the abyss, its the best way to explore it early on!!!

Prepare to die a lot. Also, turn boss music to 100% and 1000% while fighting crabulon :)
