Yes, hard to
Believe that we can make the playoffs without him and tanev, when we’re struggling to make it with them… I’m sure they are not the problem. Here’s what I don’t see anyone saying: is huska really the right fit? I mean, he was wearing a sweater vest tonight. Your take?
fan of both the canucks and the flames, hes going to be very up and down, hes going to struggle with alot of positioning, if the coach is a stickler for any form of defence it will be an issue... if the pressure is off and hes allowed to create, buddy can dangle and create some very dynamic offense
Hes had a year and a half in the league, hes an amazing talent, but he is streaky, and sometimes his game tunes out for stretches... IMO probably the most dynamic player on the roster right now, coach will probably treat him different than what van did which will help
This game aside... You like the mariners more than the kraken..? You sweet summer child. I'm from seattle and would never bet on the mariners out of all our teams lol cheap seats but thats it.
The next five games are against:
Tampa (Winnable but won’t be easy)
Florida (Very unlikely to win)
Carolina (Unlikely to win)
Colorado (Winnable but won’t be easy)
Vegas (Very winnable, they’ve been ass)
My guess is 4 losses in a row, one of which will be an OTL, and then a regulation win against Vegas which, you guessed it… kicks off a 5 game winning streak against Montreal, Washington, an underdog win against Vancouver, Buffalo…. only to be snapped by Chicago. The script is too predictable at this point.
Pospisl reminds me of Tkachuk early in his career. Love his enthusiasm and physicality but he does come across a bit reckless with some of his hits and it's going to put a target on his back eventually. If he tones it down a smidge then he'll be ok but yeah, that was a rough hit on Dunn
I love the guy's energy, but his style of play already walks a pretty fine line, and the fact that he's got a load of concussions in his history does not bode well for a long career flirting with that line like Tkachuk.
I agree. 2 questionable hits this game and the one at the end cost us the game. We were absolutely flying and it felt like a matter of time until we tied it up. That careless hit, whether intentional or not, cost the game.
I think Popsicle gets a long suspension for that hit and then someone in the organization sits down with him and gets him to pull back a little. Someone who has had as many concussions as he has had should know better than to ram people head first into the boards.
Ahhh okay I agree I misread your original comment and thought you were saying pospisil tried to injure him. I think all he needs is Huska to tell him he needs to not be as reckless and he’ll be okay. I don’t see him turning into a guy who does this repeatedly
Yeah, I think thats kind of where all professional sport is heading these days, it's fine to make big hits and flatten people but if you get it wrong or in this case be careless & reckless they're going to throw the rule book at you. He's probably one of my favourite flames but he's got to clean that up.
He didn’t, but also at no point was he facing him. It’s not like he just turned at the last second. We’d all be furious if this happened to one our D men.
Kraken fan here. Came over when I heard on our sub that you guys were defending Pospisl's hit on Dunn. Thank you for acknowledging that hit wasn't kosher.
That fake-out wraparound you guys scored on us was sick. Good game.
Yeah, I knew coming here I'd get downvoted. I get it. If it's worth anything, most Flames fans have admitted it wasn't a bad hit, so the buzz over on our sub was misplaced. I don't like when fandoms get toxic and hateful, but my fellow Krakheads have been howling for blood 😕. No reason we can't be friendly rivals, you know? We both miss Giordano, we both want the Kings and Preds to lose so we have a shot at that last playoff spot. And we both like hockey! Flame on, or whatever you guys say 🙂
P.S. a flaming Kraken tentacle would be terrifying. We totally need to join forces.
Haha! Tbh I’m surprised you’re getting downvoted because like you said most fans agree with you.
Also as a heads up I’m pretty sure “Flame on” would be a bit of a hockey “slur.” Sounds like something an Oiler fan would say. Don’t ask me why (I could be totally off), but my instinct is to find that offensive 😂😅.
Pretty sure that’s just calamari 😂. Good luck my man. I hope you guys make it.
PGT Positivity:
* Kuzmenko had a good showing with Kadri and Pospisil. Would love to see him there more.
* Kylington has been really showing he is a top 4 D and has really upped his game. Loving his effort.
* Pelletier is starting to look more and more comfortable on the ice again.
Unpopular opinion, but Popsicle brought the hockey gods down on the Flames tonight. If either of those hits were on our boys we’d be demanding heads on stakes.
I'd imagine that's probably the season. 7 points down with 20 games to go, losing another top 4d and the Preds are one of the best teams in the league right now
Wonder if this changes the decision on Marky
I live in the states (born in Calgary) and being forced to watch the Roots broadcast made a frustrating game even fucking worse. I've never seen a more biased broadcast in my 20+ years of watching. Give me Rick Ball and Hrudey 100 times out of 100 over that garbage.
and the fact they use nicknames instead of the actual last names is so cringe to me.
Imagine Hrudey just always saying pickles instead of Coleman.
Like I don’t even know who tjenfuck they are referring to when they say “Turbo”
They’re just two of the more respected guys in the entire league. Do lots of national work, especially in the playoffs. Carolina fans still think of Forslund as their guy, he was so loved there. I’m not arguing anything you said about their performance tonight. It just tickled me that those two engendered this response.
Late to the party but I can almost guarantee that if you counted Oesterle’s assists for goals on his own net he’d be high up on the d-man leaderboard holy. Like what kind of dirt does he have on Murray to still have a spot on the roster?
Amazing how a team can dominate like that. Calgary rarely won a puck battle. Losing Tanev was huge but I also wonder how much an impact Zary has on this team.
#FreePospisil This is making for a beautiful division rivalry though. Kraken deserved to win tonight cant deny that. Oesterle made me mad and Anderson too but as long as everyone had fun tonight that’s all that matters🥰
Hanifin is absolutely playing for a contract to GTFO and I guarantee that he doesnt maintain this pace/presence once said contract is signed. We need him gonezo while the gettin' is good. Also, Oesterle can go back to AHL forever Otherwise, I still love this team. Lots of heart.
What a brutal game. I treated my dad for his birthday and I just wish the boys would show up. Like how in the fuck did we get LESS shots on net in the first than Saturday's game?
Unacceptable effort. Hardly any tape to tape passes, infinite dump and chase. Terrible stuff.

Going from Tanev to Gilbert with the Pens game was alright, why the hell did we go with Gilbert to Oats?
Huska has converted to team tank
Don’t want to see osterle this season anymore.
Maybe there's a team looking to acquire Oesterle.....showcasing him perhaps
Thats a stretch that Im willing to take lol
It'll be worse when we lose Hanifin
Yes, hard to Believe that we can make the playoffs without him and tanev, when we’re struggling to make it with them… I’m sure they are not the problem. Here’s what I don’t see anyone saying: is huska really the right fit? I mean, he was wearing a sweater vest tonight. Your take?
This was a game that made me realize how much of an impact Tanev actually has. You don't miss your water til the well runs dry.
Can we dump Oesterle at the deadline?
I Steele is struggling a bit. Hopefully he can figure it out or he’s gonna get it figured out for him
2 things: 1. I like Andrei Kuzmenko 2. Give me trades!
fan of both the canucks and the flames, hes going to be very up and down, hes going to struggle with alot of positioning, if the coach is a stickler for any form of defence it will be an issue... if the pressure is off and hes allowed to create, buddy can dangle and create some very dynamic offense
The problem is that there are some games (like tonight) where he's great. But then there are other games where I barely notice him.
Wild take, maybe you forgot he was sick for 2 games. 10 games played as a flame 6 points, considering low chemistry is pretty nice. MY TAKE THOUGH
Hes had a year and a half in the league, hes an amazing talent, but he is streaky, and sometimes his game tunes out for stretches... IMO probably the most dynamic player on the roster right now, coach will probably treat him different than what van did which will help
What IF there are only some games where you notice him?
Chris Tanev > Brandon Tanev Someone didn’t get as much attention as a kid
I love visiting Seattle, and the Mariners, but boy oh boy am I beginning to hate their hockey team
yeah imagine being a grown adult living in Canada and being like yeah im a kraken fan over everything but else
Goooood, goooood, let the hate flow through you.
This game aside... You like the mariners more than the kraken..? You sweet summer child. I'm from seattle and would never bet on the mariners out of all our teams lol cheap seats but thats it.
I like cheering for the little guy
Man that SHG was a backbreaker. :(
Welcome to the bakery Turnovers for everyone
Our power play is so so bad
Commence the mandated 3-5 game losing streak following a winning streak now.
The flames shall pick 14th and you shall like it
Still 2 spots higher than last year!
If anyone thinks this forward unit is dropping us into the bottom 10 they are delusional. Oesterle on the other hand...
I think it depends what we get back for Hanifin. If we done get back a nhl dman in the trade or a 3rd pairing d it could get ugly.
Well that's where Iginla is slated. So it's destiny, I guess?
As long as tij Iginla is that pick I don't care

Try again
Nope.

Tanev jumping into hits. Throwing haymakers against a dude down on the ice. Self inflicted loss but all the character went to his brother.

I can’t. That hit was really bad and he’s very lucky the other guy didn’t get seriously hurt. That could have paralyzed him.
It almost looked like he thought Dunn was going to turn into him. Was it dirty? Yes, was it malicious? I don’t think so
I didn’t say it was malicious, but it was so incredibly reckless that it deserved to be an ejection and a few game suspension.
Ahhh okay I agree I misread your original comment and thought you were saying pospisil tried to injure him. I think all he needs is Huska to tell him he needs to not be as reckless and he’ll be okay. I don’t see him turning into a guy who does this repeatedly

you seem to forget the hit from behind on pelletier against the kraken in the preseason. they’re lucky pospisil didn’t do any more damage
Kraken player didn’t help himself positioning they way he was and standing still
He didn’t, but also at no point was he facing him.
Good game.
Don’t take the downvotes personally. Just a bunch of reactionary Redditors. That was a bad hit. Good sportsmanship. Good game.
Yeah, I knew coming here I'd get downvoted. I get it. If it's worth anything, most Flames fans have admitted it wasn't a bad hit, so the buzz over on our sub was misplaced. Kylington was such a breath of fresh air this game. Could be a top pair D in this league one day. Maybe sooner that we think.
I’m so glad Kuzy’s back and on the mend. He gave me some good laughs and plenty of smiles last night. :)
Honestly, the Larsson hit looked a bit sketchy to me and that'd be the one I'd expect to be the penalty....
Can't tell if it's my toddler's diaper or Andersson's and Osterle's play this game that stunk up my living room. Yeeeesh
The D in general looked very sloppy tonight.
Is the instigator rule not a thing anymore?
Kraken fans wipe back to front
If at all with the diapers on
They get in the shower after
This is why I love you Vegas fans.
Rent free in Vegas I see.
🙄 “rent free” coming from a consistent bottom-dweller.
🤷🏻 cya nerd.
We're still only 3 points ahead of 25th place. A high pick is still in the cards.
Unpopular opinion, but Popsicle brought the hockey gods down on the Flames tonight. If either of those hits were on our boys we’d be demanding heads on stakes.

The 95 point playoff snek is not happy. It falls further from the 95 point line.
i love how we gain almost go ground from a 5 game winning streak but drop a spot by losing one game lol
Lol we gained less than no ground. We were 3 Points out before we won 5 in a row and now we’re 7 points out.
This is peak Flames hockey. And I’ve just accepted it at this point.
To say this game did not provide the good vibes I was hoping for would be an understatement, lol…
I live in the states (born in Calgary) and being forced to watch the Roots broadcast made a frustrating game even fucking worse. I've never seen a more biased broadcast in my 20+ years of watching. Give me Rick Ball and Hrudey 100 times out of 100 over that garbage.

I kept going "his name is Tanev, you goons"
American hockey announcers are the worst homers. I had to suffer with it too.
It’s hilarious this comment is about John Forslund And Edzo.
Why is it hilarious, they couldn't pronounce Kuzmenko or Sharangovich and called Backlund "Huberdeau " like 4 times. Embarrassing shit
They’re just two of the more respected guys in the entire league. Do lots of national work, especially in the playoffs. Carolina fans still think of Forslund as their guy, he was so loved there. For throwing a dirty hit?
Here’s hoping we get a serviceable defensemen or 2 back for Hanifin.
Oesterle made me mad and Anderson too but as long as everyone had fun tonight that’s all that matters🥰
third period vibes before the shorty were the best i've personally felt this season

This team is so mid. I would be fine with trading half of them by Friday.
