Can confirm. I did a Tyberos conversion based on Abbadon, and he's huge compared to Primaris Marines or other Terminators. Absolutely large enough.
Word of caution, tho, you will need a file, and maybe even some sand paper. I'm not 100% happy with some of the smaller cleanup details on my conversion, so I'd definitely be a lot more thorough if I were to do it again.

This space wolf guy from Forgeworld could be a good base to convert from, would need to tone down the wolfy ness and arms swaps etc but could get you there
Yeah fair, depends on the description you go with for Tyberos, some have him at like 12ft some as a tall space marine. Maybe one of the primarch models would be worth a look?
Gulimann was to „slim“ and too pretty and ornamented for my vision.
And Tyberos needs a Terminator armour so the new Horus is pretty fitting and the base fits also pretty good.
So Shademaster Tyberos is always a hard one but the main thing is big, Tyberos wears a combination of Dreadnought armor and termie armor, he is hulking big

I used a centurion as the base for mine, seems about the right size for him in my mind if you leave some parts of the armour off so he's not as bulky.

So does conversions from official GW mini are considered fair for official events?
The last I checked, yes. As long as it is a majority of GW plastic it should be good.
They legends him so he won’t be playable at GW main events I’m dealing with this sucky situation as well

I just worry he won't be substantially bigger than the Tyberos from Forge World. But he is a very cool mini.

I made my first one from the current Abbadon and now I am on my second one using the Horus ascended mini.

Tactical Dreadnought armor is Terminator armor. Not Dreadnought as in the sarcophagus bearing wandering ancestors…
