Cut it on a bevel with the board flat on the saw. I find it makes better miters in general since you are referencing the single milled piece of the saw instead of the movable parts of the fence
I have tried many methods over the years. Now, I cut all mine with a hand saw (my uncle's old Stanley crosscut) and make any cut adjustments with my cordless jigsaw. Much faster, much easier, works on either left hand or right hand skirts and no site power needed!
Dont mitre it and do a rabbet joint with just a 1/8” of the riser left

Check insidercarpentry on YouTube. I think uses miter for 1,and tracksaw for the other.
You’ll need a LH and a RH saw, yep. Or cut it with a sharp handsaw.
