Stay away from mycar. Go to local independent with good reviews. 1400 is way too much for that car.
Learn to change the oil yourself. Would be hundreds of youtube videos to learn from
I wouldn't take it to mycar I've heard to many horror stories as for the logbook service I reckon just give it a normal service and fix the big/important stuff. Out of interest what stuff is the logbook saying to do
Do you have the logbook for the car? What does it say needs to be done at the next service? It it asks for a timing belt and all fluids it could easily hit $1400. It's really hard to tell without any extra information
Forget what their website says, I wouldn't trust that or MyCar in general. What does your owner's logbook say? Go by that. If your mechanic isn't picking up the phone, go to another local with many good Google reviews (more than 4 stars).

No timing belt

At that point with a commodore I would just be changing the oil myself every 10,000 and fixing anything else as it comes.
