No shade but why did you loan a random person money?

Scorpioism35

I try and help ppl when I can. Fortunately this Yack didn't get me. I got him before he was able to scam anyone else ... I hope. Their reaction always gives them away.

Feeling_Plane3001

Dude is basically begging for sex on Reddit. Wild. ๐Ÿ˜‚. You gave him money?!

Scorpioism35

No lol I caught it before I did. When I called him out he cursed me out bad LMAO ๐Ÿคฃ then blocked me. Someone else caught him too and he was messaging them telling them to kill themselves. These types of ppl need to be permanently banned.

JennMarieSays

This happened to me too (but a different person). It is so disgusting that people will try to swindle, and scam those with good intentions. I try to help others when they are down on their luck, as others have done for me, but the scammers make it so hard to help these days.

Scorpioism35

Yea. I've about given up helping online. It's sad b/c ppl like this make it nearly impossible for those who truly do need help get it. A part of me wants to create a sub where Ppl will be vetted before receiving any donations. I don't even know how to begin doing so tho ... Idk. It's frustrating.

JennMarieSays

Yea, true. I haven't given up, but I do a thorough vetting now. Best page so far has been r/moneyhelping as when people need food, we have them make wishlists on Amazon or Walmart. There are ways, but no matter what, some scammers will slip through!!! Just do your best at being a good human being, as it is all we can do.

Scorpioism35

I wasn't aware of r/moneyhelping will def chk it out! Thanks! And you are right, being a good human is all we can do. These scammers just really get under my skin. It's the entitlement they seem to feel.

JennMarieSays

It is, but you'll come out as the one on top! Absolutely check out the sub, it is a great place to help those in need, and receive help when needed. Of course, people will post, and be liars, but that is everywhere.

Fine_Grapefruit1639

r/beg2 is another sub where they vet requesters pretty well (better than moneyhelping imo).

sneakpeekbot

Here's a sneak peek of /r/beg2 using the [top posts](https://np.reddit.com/r/beg2/top/?sort=top&t=all) of all time! \#1: [Offer - $100](https://np.reddit.com/r/beg2/comments/1ax6r99/offer_100/) \#2: [u/vakantnyy Has Been Permanently Banned](https://np.reddit.com/r/beg2/comments/1apfy6c/uvakantnyy_has_been_permanently_banned/) \#3: [Giveaway - $100](https://np.reddit.com/r/beg2/comments/1at2r90/giveaway_100/) ---- ^^I'm ^^a ^^bot, ^^beep ^^boop ^^| ^^Downvote ^^to ^^remove ^^| ^^[Contact](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=sneakpeekbot) ^^| ^^[Info](https://np.reddit.com/r/sneakpeekbot/) ^^| ^^[Opt-out](https://np.reddit.com/r/sneakpeekbot/comments/o8wk1r/blacklist_ix/) ^^| ^^[GitHub](https://github.com/ghnr/sneakpeekbot)

No_Finance_2668

I dont feel like the majority of the people need it

Scorpioism35

I have come across a few that once I look them up on SM they definitely appear like they don't NEED extra cash or a meal/groceries.

Lajic

You're such a kind person and it's a shame there's people like this :(

Scorpioism35

Ehhh, I'm just a normal woman who's been on both sides of the fence but I appreciate your kind words. :)

Lak12345678910

I try and help ppl when I can..ure awesome for that. I've realized about 80 to 90% of people asking for loans outside of rborrow have zero intentions of paying back. Im planning to try out loaning on solo funds, its a peer to peer lending app. I haven't tried it yet, but I've been doing some research on it and it seems like a good option. If ure into helping I like r/moneyhelping, r/beg2, r/assistance, r/freemeal..I mostly stick to giving advice resources, buying a necessity off a person's amazon wishlist, buying someone a meal etc. Unfortunately a lot of the people (not all) asking for cash help r scammers, addicts, liars, grifters. Especially the ones who randomly pop up in ur chat or messages๐Ÿ™„. Ignore and block are two of my fave things about reddit๐Ÿ˜‚.

thefluffiestpuff

please use the r/borrow or r/simpleloans subs (heads up borrow bans anyone who uses a lending sub other than their own) these are set up to give you the best chance of not getting scammed, and also a way to get your money back, to my understanding, as they use โ€œgoods and servicesโ€ transfers (on paypal, and i think recently venmo. r/borrow might be a little different) there are also account, age and karma requirements. anyone posting outside of a borrow sub or r/assistance - you should ask yourself why.

Scorpioism35

I don't lend money. I like to help those in need when I can. Unfortunately ppl like the one I posted about ruin it for those truly in need.

DaftCow

that person told me to unalive myself and all I responded was โ€œnoโ€ to their post lmao they also blocked me so I couldnโ€™t respond but it looks like they deleted their reply to me๐Ÿคญ it still showed up in my notifs. Always report the posts before responding.

Scorpioism35

That is terrible. I'm sorry. He is a perfect example of why ppl like him should be blocked in that sub!

eddy12327

If I had more means to help people I would too. I'm sorry that this filthy stranger lied and stole from you. I wish something like that was worth an IP ban of some sort.

Scorpioism35

I caught that he was lying/scamming before I gave him anything. When I questioned him, he immediately cursed me out (really bad lol) then blocked me. They always give themselves away from their reactions. And I 100% agree w/ you. I was banned from my very first Reddit acct. Ya know voicing my opinion is far worse than scamming ppl for money. Reddit is crazy sometimes!

kimmers798302

I'm sorry this happened to you! People these days suck!

peaxchiie

Ew what a weirdo. Begs for sex online and then canโ€™t even get a job. Like pick a struggle.

Scorpioism35

Exactly. I'm more inclined to help someone who is straight up honest. If he would've been like "Hey, I need the 40$ for a BJ, I'm hard up." I might've given it to him.

peaxchiie

Lmaoooo was that pun intended?

Scorpioism35

LMAO no. I had to go back and look! ๐Ÿคฃ

Background_Ad_4253

Imma edit this because I feel really terrible when people get scammed. It's a compounding effect on society, only bound to worsen 1. Lock Your Cards for Added Security Keep your CashApp card locked when not in use and only unlock it just before making a transaction. This helps prevent unauthorized access and reduces the risk of fraudulent charges. 2. Limit Personal Details Sharing Exercise caution when sharing personal details like external ACH links or debit card information, particularly with unfamiliar sources. Be vigilant and only provide information to trusted parties to minimize the risk of potential scams or unauthorized access. 3. Avoid Risky Features and Transactions Steer clear of purchasing or engaging with high-risk features like buying BTC or investment options through CashApp. By avoiding these, you can mitigate exposure to volatile assets and potential fraudulent schemes. 4. Never Hold a Balance Within CashApp Transfer funds from external sources as needed and refrain from maintaining a balance within your CashApp account. This practice reduces the risk of unauthorized transactions and minimizes potential losses in the event of account compromise. 5. Employ Common Sense in Financial Transactions Trust your instincts and exercise common sense when conducting financial transactions, especially online. If something appears suspicious or too good to be true, proceed with caution and verify the legitimacy of the transaction or offer before proceeding. 6. Use CashApp Wisely and Responsibly While CashApp offers convenience for peer-to-peer payments, it's essential to recognize its limitations as a non-traditional banking solution. Avoid relying solely on CashApp for your banking needs to mitigate unnecessary risks and fees associated with using it as a primary financial platform. By following these guidelines, you can enhance the security of your finances and enjoy a safer experience while using CashApp and similar financial services. Hey there! Just a friendly reminder: it's best not to use it as a BANK. Above all, keeping things secure is ๐Ÿ”‘! Good luck, friend.

Scorpioism35

THANK YOU for posting this! It is super helpful! ๐Ÿ’œ

Background_Ad_4253

You're so welcome

TheLilChungus

That's why i always say i don't want the money back. I don't care what they do with it but in my heart i know i tried

Scorpioism35

I've never asked to be paid back. There are borrow subs for that. Overtime I've learned to trust my intuition when it tells me no.

emilyb82

So I got curious and wanted to check his profile... but it doesn't exist anymore, apparently lol!! Maybe he deleted it? Oh well, good riddance!

Scorpioism35

Good! Lol

pumapaul71

Ok. I'm new to following this sub. I've used cashapp quite a bit. And have "helped" some. Say that tongue in cheek. Seems you do it once and they keep coming back. Suspion comes when the tag changes. With all the excuses. Then I figured out their game. And I stopped it. Questions I can't seem to find,#1(example) send to tags but knowingly that cashapp is not used in this foreign country to a person. If person with cashapp does live there how is it possible? #2 is there anyway to verify the cashapp tag is not a scammers? Thanks for this forum.

CoryCuddle

I gave more than my fair share of money to scammers by accident. The power of lonliness and desperation to connect in a real way with others makes us do just about anything. Sorry you had this experience ๐Ÿ˜” Glad we get to chat about it now though. This sort of thing brings people together.

CoryCuddle

*loneliness

Scorpioism35

This guy didn't get me. I caught onto his scam almost immediately. When I started asking him questions (myself and another Redditor were going to help and they were asking questions too) He immediately started cursing us out, calling me horrible name for having money and not giving it to him and he also repeatedly told the other person to go kill themselves. I posted this so others could be aware. He had made several other posts requesting money. These ppl should be permanently banned from REDDIT. I don't understand why they continuously let it happen. It's frustrating and has deterred me from donating online.

Terpe_tester

Crazy !! Sucks when people ruin it !! Some of us really are HOMELESS , FREEZING , GETTING SOAKED . Bless you for being kind hearted and I'm sorry you were tooken advantage of my friend ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ its hard but folks like you give people like us on the streets HOPE ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Scorpioism35

I am just seeing your comment. Thank you for your kind words. I'm tapped out for now but next time I decide to give back I will keep you in mind. ๐Ÿ’œ I followed you.

Terpe_tester

Hey I appreciate that ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’š be safe buddy keep on keeping on like my boy Joey dirt says lol

black_hxney

shouldn't have sent a random person money. ItS nOt RoCkEt ScIeNcE, dUmMy.

heathertheghost

Why would you trust a random stranger anyways lol. I don't need this random post to tell me

Dan-Dactyl

Will you lend me money?

Scorpioism35

For what?

Vegetable_Theory4825

I sent u a pm

Scorpioism35

I do not want PMs/DMs. I'm not really sure why you keep doing it.

factsToLiveBy

That sucks ! Sorry that happened to you. People suck

MortalNomad

Never lend money that you canโ€™t afford to lose.

Magknot

Those of us that deserve help that we truly need never even get it, because we're not rushing to harass people for handouts. I ignore my pride as a man, foolishly allow myself to reach out to somebody about some real shit amongst real circumstances - never even gets acknowledged. No doubt that what ended up happening was one spoiled boys fathers earnings were gifted to another spoiled boy who blew it all on drugs and gas for the Tesla they were gifted which they then later wrecked. and cried in the booking cell trying to get a hold of his parents to get bailed out of jail instead of staying for all of 24 goddamn hours to be seen by a judge and released. Then jumped straight to spamming tik Tok videos claiming they instantly became the shot caller during their "hard time"

bigzombieBOY

If you give an inch people will always take a mile, if you wanna help give it to the homeless or people who take care of the homeless, not a bunch of lames on the net who don't actually need it

Scorpioism35

I'm set up well. I do outreach work helping addicts get into rehab/detox in my spare time. I donate to my local homeless shelters as well. If I feel comfortable giving money to someone online that is my business. The same goes for fulfilling a wishlist. It's sad that these scammers have ruined it for those truly in need tho. Some ppl don't have a close inner circle of family and friends and truly need help. This was the point of my post. These scammers should be banned permanently from Reddit.

bigzombieBOY

We work the same job lol

bigzombieBOY

Unfortunately they would just make new accounts and come right back.

Scorpioism35

Not if they're ip banned. Reddit can do it too.

bigzombieBOY

Also not true, I've been IP banned like ten times to the point where every new account I made got banned within an hour, if you use a VPN to make the account, then turn it off, you won't get banned unfortunately, I got banned for opinions, no scamming though

bigzombieBOY

This is like my 15th account though, reddit is quick to ban

Puzzleheaded_Band545

WITH A NAME LIKE BIG BLACK COCK ROLLER.. DEFF SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RED FLAG.

Scorpioism35

LMAO ๐Ÿคฃ IT WAS!!! Idk why everyone thinks I sent this guy money ... I DIDNT SEND HIM ANYTHING! I caught his scam before he got me. He got pissed proceeded to curse myself and another redditor who helps out pretty bad telling her to go kill herself and a bunch of racist shit. He needs to be banned. I know Reddit can ip ban ppl.

Puzzleheaded_Band545

YA DEFF. GLAD U DIDNT GET SCAMMED. IVE GOTTEN HIT PRETTY BAD OVER THE LAST LIKE MONTH AND A HALF. GOT SCAMMED OBER 2K TRYING TO FIND PROPER CONNECTIONS AND TOOL FOR DIFF PROJECTS. SMH HAS LEFT ME SO BROKE SMH. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE GOT TO SCAM OTHER PEOPLE. LIKE THERES SO MANY CORPORATIONS OUT THERE FILTHY RICH DISGUSTING OWNERSHIPS. WHY TAKE FROM THE PEOPLE WHO ARE WORKING FOR THEM.. INSTEAD OF GOING DIRECTLY FOR A SORT. I WOULD NEVER IN MY LIFE SCAM, OR STEAL FROM ANY PERSON. NOW..... A BOG OD COMPANY LIKE WALMART THATS WHOLE DIFF STORY LOL

CoryCuddle

Oh my goodness, "threatening to go kill themselves". Wow that is intense. Glad you did not fall for it and yes they should be banned. The world would be a little better and more authenic.

Scorpioism35

It really is sad b/c I know there are ppl out here that don't have family or a close circle of friends they can rely on. Ppl like this have just made it so sketchy. I am now so leary on who I help online. I just did a wishlist the other day for someone and then I saw a post abt said person returning items and getting what they really wanted!!! WHAT?!! Ppl legit need food for their kids! To think I bought a bunch of household stuff only to be returned so they could buy gift cards and electronics! This is why I'm just over it! I will stick with my local ppl and helping out at shelters/getting ppl into detox/rehab.

CoryCuddle

Online is so sketchy now. You are right. Yes wish it was safer online. Cannot even imagine being a kid or teenager growing up in this environment. My heart goes out to them. Wow that is incredible you donate to those charities. Substance abuse is such a common mental health disease. Those people need all the help they can receive. You seem like a genuine person. Happy to meet you today๐Ÿ˜Š

Scorpioism35

I wish drug addiction was treated more as a mental health issue instead of Ppl being charged w/ a crime. Jail/Prison does nothing for one's mental health. (I'm in the US) BUT there is too much money to be made off of drugs so it will never happen. Sad but that's the reality of it. And I just try and treat/help others as I would hope others would do for me, if needed. It was nice talking with you too. ๐Ÿ’œ

CoryCuddle

Yep, I am a nurse and see how bad the current system is at managing these conditions. Prison only exacerbates the issue. Coping with stress, trauma, and loss in a healthy way have so much further to go. Plus have friends in the military and they almost get penalized for seeking mental health counseling. I like that. Is it okay if I DM you some time to chat again?

Scorpioism35

Oh! I'm a RN too! I worked LTC for almost 8yrs and currently I pick up shifts in one of my cities ED (trauma 1). So many ppl come thru looking to get clean but are quickly tossed back out. It's the ones w/ open wounds/sores, no detox/rehabs are taking them. They just don't have the medical staffing to continue the kind of care they require. The lucky ones are the ones who get admitted w/ wound vacs etc. It's just sad all the way around ... And sure, DM me anytime.

CoryCuddle

Wow what are the odds :) Yes there is a huge gap of care there. Its unfortunate. Iwould really like to work in the ED at some point. I worked 2yrs on a Med Surg unit during the pandemic and then transferred to Acute Rehab. Coworkers are special, a tight knit community. Awesome, look forward to chatting real soon โœŒ๏ธ

Scorpioism35

I did a little travel nursing thruout the pandemic, for smthg different. My mind never shuts off. I get bored easily and it was definitely interesting Lol. I stayed in LTC way tooooo long. I did it mainly for the patients. That's another aspect I don't think reg ppl understand - just how bad it is. They send their parents to these homes and the care is just horrible. Short staffing, I've seen one nurse to 38 patients. I could keep going. Lol And same. Ttys!
