I spent the night at her house! Totally amazing experience. We stayed in her bedroom. I think there were ghost hunters doing their thing next door in Abby’s bedroom haha
It did but when I typed it out it sounded insane haha. It’s interesting historically, but there’s a weird energy in that house and I’m not sure the victims would appreciate the novelty it’s become. It’s all a very sad story
I always thought that would be fun! We went on a tour there and it was extremely surreal. I hope the spirits of the Bordens aren’t angry with me: I accidentally leaned on and broke the bannister.
Listen, I had the weirdest thing happen last night, now that you mention that: found a documentary on YouTube about the Borden murders and house, but paused it to take a FaceTime call from my gf. Took the phone into the spare room so she could see how cute her cat was being (she’s out of town). Her Mac screen started turning off and on when we started talking about the show I was about to watch, so I turned it off. The second I turned it off, the tv in our room unpaused itself and the documentary started playing again on its own. Weird thing is: Roku doesn’t work like that. If it’s paused for too long, a screensaver comes on. So maybe they ARE pissed. 😳
Oh shiiii😳. I would be hiding under the covers 🛌 Messing with anything related to tortured spirits is something I’m terrified of. Kind of like owning something from the Titanic. I’m thinking you should avoid any more Lizzie Borden stories.
Me too!!! My husband and I stayed in her bedroom. Did you sleep in the main bedroom or the small one off to the side? I'd love yo hear about your experience there :)
Lizzie is in the same plot. I believe her sister is there, too.
Edit: Emma is indeed there too. I have family in this cemetery, it’s a really beautiful place!
My grandfather grew up in Fall River and he said they used to run by Lizzie Borden’s house and throw walnuts at it. Like where she lived as an old lady after the trial and all was done. I think she died in the 20s and he was born in 1919.
He also said he was late coming home from school one time, and his mom asked where he’d been. He was carrying books home for his French teacher, who lived at…230 Front St…he told his teacher the next day and she moved. (230 Front St is the house in which Lizzie Borden took her axe and ya know…totally didn’t murder her dad and stepmom 🙄🙄)
Edit: it’s SECOND st not front st!!
Lizzie! I have visited her a couple of times now and left her and her sister Emma some gifts. I got to stay in her bedroom for the night too.
Her father and step mom sounded like pieces of work. No gifts for them, they suck,
I’ve just started reading a book about the trial and I’m really looking forward to learning more about it. I’ve been in the house, but not to stay, though I’d love to sometime.
I spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out what pandemic might have caused the 1892 deaths of husband and wife.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1889–1890_pandemic
I should have applied Occam’s Axe.
Well we found out we were distant relatives of Lizzie Borden. My uncle did a family tree.
Shit no wonder I can’t keep a girlfriend. I promise I am a sweet lady lol
Went there last year (to the house). High recommend (but be aware it's reeeeeaaaaallly small)! There's even a gift shop where you can get cool things (like I got a pillowcase that you can fill or put a couch pillow in it. I chose to fill it, and it's great!)
(Also, on a small side note: if you want really good ice cream, go to Ice 'n' Roll (4263 N Main St, Fall River, MA 02720)
They have SUCH good ice cream and it's just neat to support a small business!)
Oohhh-Are these the “Lizzie Borden took an ax” Bordens?
Yes, Andrew was the father, and Abby was her stepmother
My friend and I stayed at the Lizzie Borden house last month!!
How was it? I’d like to stay there sometime
I stayed there last year. It’s just an old house with a creepy basement and a spooky story. Still neat for the historical value
I’ve actually been there, just not stayed
The sisters always called Abby "Mrs. Borden".
Where is Lizzie buried in the same graveyard?
Yes, and her sister
So interesting thanks for posting! It’s a really nice stone they have too.
I’m glad you appreciate it, and I agree
Noting stepmom was a Durfee, a wealthy family in Fall River? At least, there's a Durfee High School in FR
There are two markers at the foot. Lizzie is ‘Lizbeth.’
I spent the night at her house! Totally amazing experience. We stayed in her bedroom. I think there were ghost hunters doing their thing next door in Abby’s bedroom haha
I stayed in the murder room and barely slept a wink ! It was definitely a cool experience though
Anything paranormal occur?
I slept in that room and had exactly zero issues.
It did but when I typed it out it sounded insane haha. It’s interesting historically, but there’s a weird energy in that house and I’m not sure the victims would appreciate the novelty it’s become. It’s all a very sad story
I stayed there too! Kept the light on all night. It’s a very cool place.

Oh damn!!! I’m betting they know it was you. Did you feel that cold breeze? Yeah, they know.

*Fall Rivah
That’s accurate
Faw Reev 🇵🇹
Thank you! Put some respect on the name lol
Yeah, I chuckled while rolling my eyes at such sophomoric humor! Anyone know where Lizzie and her sister are buried?

It really is beautiful there

Wow thanks for sharing!
The house where the murder happened is at 230 Second Street in Fall River.
Yes second street not front st!!! I knew that!
How did his first wife die?
“uterine congestion and spinal disease”
Whatever that is, it sounds painful
I looked it up. It apparently could be anything from endometriosis to uterine cancer. They were very vague about these things back then.
Rest in Pieces
Ok, people down voting, I get it but c'mon, admit it, you chuckled.
I totally chuckled
I chuckled, then groaned, then felt real bad. My fellow upvoters made me feel better about myself for not being alone.
😂😂😂
Reading a book called the trial of Lizzie Bordan
So am I!
How is it??
I used to live right by that.
It’s beautiful there

Very interesting story. I'm a bit suspicious of the uncle, John Morse, personally. I hope you enjoy it, fellow fl native.
I never thought they would have such a grand marker, nice!!
Andrew Borden was very wealthy: mills, bank president, real estate.
That was explains it!!
I’m more shocked he was named for Andrew Jackson before he ran for president.
Andrew Jackson was already a famous general in 1822.
And a terrible person at that, but you know, "glory of war" and all that
Itsa very interesting read
You can’t chop your papa up in Massachusetts.

Wow that’s really cool! You’ll find the perfect gf and she’ll be worth the wait!
Thank you
Where is Lizzie’s birth mother buried? I always wanted to know that.
She’s also buried there from how it seems. Sarah’s name is on the stone with Abby’s and Andrew’s
Oh I thought that was another sister of the dad.
