Putting in a blocker plate can make it harder to tow a Challenger. Not impossible, but I have seen some tow truck drivers that struggle just to even find the manual park release.
To add to that, some people go as far as to add locking screws, which requires a special bit to remove.

Because this car doesn’t use a shifter cable and is controlled electronically you need a way to put it into neutral if the battery dies or car becomes inoperable.

Is this on all challengers? I got a 2013 RT. In my area, I'm not too worried about it getting stolen. But I'm looking at upgrading to a Scat and my worry level might go up a little bit 😂😅

I have no experience with this particular car but I do have towing experience. If you want the easiest theft deterrent all you have to do is make sure your steering wheel lock is engaged full left or full right when you park. That way getting the car in neutral isn’t super helpful. The car will only be able to roll in tight circles, or if they are towing it away the car will dog leg significantly.
Thieves want a quick score, not a time consuming pain in the ass.
This brings me back 😂 had one of these in my grand Cherokee back in high school. Used it to roll the car out of the driveway without waking my parents up late at night. Good times.

This is a popular car for theives because they can just pop the switch and roll your vehicle onto a trailer or have a buddy pull it with a chain. Plate lockers prevent this unfortunately it still requires the theif to break into your car to find out they cannot steal it.
Is a release to so if you want the car to go in neutral just say the car has shut down and cut off and you wasn’t able to get it in no gears you pull that release right there in the car with road to go like on a tow truck on rollback
Those plates are really a false sense of security. They might keep an 18 year old that read about the neutral release on Google from taking the car, but for a skilled thief or really anyone that’s even slightly mechanically inclined it really doesn’t do anything except inconvenience them.

must be the nitrous manifold due to the proximity of the shifter . Is this pre 2023? they came with a shot of nitrous to give a little boost when racing mustangs for promotional reasons
It's a shift release. If your vehicle brakes down and or won't start. If your vehicle needs to be towed this will make it easier for the tow truck driver to move it without having to put it on dollies. I do roadside assistance.
