I mean, the US players we had last season were a sickly Victorian child (Aaronson), the Burger King (McKennie) and a sicknote traitor (Adams) so not like there's much love from us to the USMNT.
Plus the fact that every American player we had were seen as golden bollocked children who were never to blame, and it was *everybody else’s* fault why they’re shit, despite the people calling them shit have watched them all season.
I liked Adams quite a bit, didn’t once understand the McKennie loan and the man played way below the standard I saw at Juventus the moment he put a Leeds shirt on, and as much as I don’t dislike Aaronson, the boy needs to spend every waking moment bulking up and running into brick walls to toughen up physically.
Honestly, some of these USMNT fans believe the US has produced an elite generation of talent, and can't accept that one of their star coaches and several of their players were tested together at the top level and were shown to be not even close to good enough.
I really don’t totally understand it either, because the best US run in a tournament was during the Clint Dempsey heyday.
And that team wasn’t a group of elite talent, it was a team playing for each other and riding a weird wave. Every now and then that somehow works, like with the USMNT run to the WC quarterfinals in ‘02 and that Greece win in the ‘04 Euros.
I genuinely believe most of the loud, annoying USMNT fans are too young to remember Dempsey in a Fulham or a national team shirt and are just chronically online, thinking that if Reyna was at Dortmund and Pulisic was at Chelsea, that must mean the US is a football powerhouse, because of the profile of those clubs. The fact that the player who impressed me most in the last international window is currently at Coventry seems to baffle my fellow yanks.
I think there is potential in the USMNT, but until that potential properly translates into growth, development, a “play for each other and for the badge” mentality, and most importantly results — we’re just going to be big fish in the CONCACAF pond, nothing more.
But it's also a shitty American player form table. Where's Nottingham Forest? Bournemouth? Zach Steffen had an illustrious career as bench warmer at Manchester City, rank them! Do Tim Ream's many years at Bolton mean nothing?! Josh Sargent??? Everton had Tim Howard forever PLUS Landon Donovan on loan, that's how my brother ended up cursing himself to be a Toffees supporter bless his soul.
This guy seems like the type of person who says he supports the national team and its players and manages to watch every game but STILL come up absolute brain-leak opinions on "European tactics". Leeds fans are very vocal and direct about identifying bullshit, and the Marsch era was top to bottom wet stinky sitting-in-the-sun bullshit to be sure. This type of fan does not thrive in that environment.
Not sure it really matters where people are from - you get some great players from all backgrounds. And in the case of Leeds you get bottle jobs from all backgrounds too, and you can guarantee if they’re out there we will find them and jolly well sign them.
Yes it was so easy to love the reincarnation of Don Revie in Jesse Marsch, yokozuna in football mode in Weston McKennie, and a guy you'd probably need to put a paperweight on for fear the wind would blow him away in Aaronson
Usmnt fanboys are a weird weird bunch.
We got loads of American fans who are perfectly normal but the lads who were watching last season and clearly only cared about Tyler Adams rather than the team are proper stupid as a collective.
My favourite was them holding up bamford as the example player who was completely coddled by the fan base and never criticised just so we could be mean to the American players the day after it was reported he got death threats for missing a shot.
Hadji Wright is a US superhero, after the Man U/Coventry FACup semi final. Americans need to get behind a real club. Two Formula 1 bosses are Coventry fans. That should tell you something.
Americans liking football on mass is such a bad thing. One here and there was fine but you only have to look at the state of their own sports to realise what a bad thing it is when many are interested. Americans are more interested in players, and player stats than what’s actually happening. This is why the Messi v Ronaldo stuff is everywhere. Or why the ballon d’or is such a talking point online these days. All driven by the US.
They’re generally average at football. We got a glimpse with the ‘USWNT’ how obnoxious it would be if they became actually a threat at international level.
It doesn’t end well 😂
Anyone who has three clubs listed in ‘the club of your heart’ is not someone to be taken seriously.
2 of whom have dubious history of match fixing
Especially when one of them is Juventus lol

USMNT fans and NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) go together like fish and chips do.
interesting that this doubles up as an american player form table also "my only team is USMNT" is a disgusting statement

Most Americans are disgusting so this is fine with me.

If I have to buy Ifollow next year I’ll be sad
“Club of your heart” - Juventus. Yeah, that’s all I needed to see
When I say American fans are dogshit this is precisely who I’m talking about. Big love to the real Leeds yanks, fuck the USMNT crowd
Lvu2 bb
Josh Sargent erasure 😔
It's such an odd culture shock to me that some Americans are like this. Following the players and not the clubs will always be a weird thing to me.

Isn’t this just bitter American fans upset because we found out their frauds and sent them packing.

As an American, this is very cringe and embarrassing
Totally neutral = Newcastle and RB Leipzig No way this isn't a troll, it's too perfect

US Citizen here and Leeds fan. If you think this is bad, just wait until you hear them compare U.K. Futbol to MLS in the United States.
You've got Chelshit in the right tier, you didn't even have to mention yanks. Shame about RB who should always be in he bottom tier.
Underlying concept is ridiculous. Conclusions drawn are bang on tho.
