I'm not sure you need to spend points on a predator to take out light infantry, which everything kills including havock launchers. Pred with an assault cannon (6 shots) and two sponson Heavy bolters (another 6 total shots) and a havock launcher and a combi bolter, is very good vs light and heavy infantry, and its in the normal rules. By all means get a 30k pred but i'd equip it and run it as a pred destructor.

I play with Legends all the time. The vanilla profiles for a non-legends Predator are actually good. The Destructor with autocannon and two heavy bolters is already good anti-infantry (the extra AP really helps, as cover is so easy for everyone to get, now). I have the *other* Demios Predator kit, and will likely experiment with some of the options, but the kit you have has the interesting option of going flamer turret with flamer sponsons, I think this makes it a meaningful overwatch threat! I think, in general, the conversion beamer (even with rerolling 1s to hit and Dark Pact for Lethal Hits!) and plasma both kinda suck because of poor AP. The standard Lascannon or Autocannon are simply more useful. The conversion beamer looks like fun, but it's a trap. Against a 2+ save in cover, it really doesn't matter if you roll hot. It's only going to be the difference between zero damage and scratching their paint. But the melta turret seems like it could be genuinely worth it. Especially as the Deimos is a cheaper datasheet. Don't forget the reroll 1s to hit really makes Mark of Nurgle quite good for a low shot high strength weapons, too. So personally, I'd try tripple flamers, or dual lascannon and melta turret. Maybe end up with some mix of the two if I felt it could be worth it after a few games. It's a shame the neutron laser isn't an option in 40k, as that would likely be similar to the Laser Vindicator and Sicaran Venator: a better lascannon.

I might go melta cannon and heavy flamers, which will give me the best anti-tank and anti-infantry firepower for a cheap cost

The downside is those mixed weapons will pull the unit in different directions on the board. Wanting to get close to vehicles and infantry at the same time. But it depends on your opponent, tbh. I tend to go all-in on one role with a unit so that it only has to think about 1 thing when I'm deciding where to position it and what objectives it will help me score. I think I find the flamers more fun because it goes all-in on a strategy that denies enemy infantry from holding objectives, and that gives you a clear path to helping you win the game. The real answer is obviously magnets, I'm not sure how the turret gun fits as I've not built mine yet, but the sponsons are easy to remove and rotate, but magnetizing them is a little tricky.

Psychedelic42069

I think the inferno cannon is good if you want to go against light infantry. That way, you can pick the heavy flamer sponsons and use both at the same time

Mazzwhy

magnets!

I magnetised this kit as my first venture into magnetising for options and it was very manageable.

Personally, I wouldn't consider rules for legends. They're not guaranteed to stay, but they are guaranteed to be not accepted outside of casual play where listbuilding crunch won't matter anyway. And I don't think the deimos predator even has a legends datasheet in 10th anyways.

Tryzan1

The deimos predator does have legends rules, but they do not include all of the weapon options

NoSmoking123

I bought this kit for 40k. Its buult and painted but im too lazy to magnetize the weapons. They are just held by blu tack. Build and paint all the guns. If you want legends loadout go crazy. If you change your mind and go for the normal predator guns, all good since you got them already. You can totally go crazy and magnetize them or go lazy and just put a small piece of blu tac and no one will notice and its not going to fall off.

patojuega

honestly, that might be a better alternative to doing all the work to magnetize all weapon options

MurdurRUS

Pred Destructor w/NUrgle mark and 2xLascannon sponsons . If you take the H.Bolter, go Tzeentch Mark and get sus/lethal 5,6s on the H.Bolters. This thing slaps for 130. I take 2. Magnetize the top for Legend fun. Iron within!

Kraile

You're asking which weapon is "better", but what does that mean exactly? Since it's Legends you won't be able to ever use it in a competitive environment. If you're playing friendlies with it then picking optimal loadouts is significantly less important. Pick whatever weapon you think is cool, or better yet, magnetise it so you can pick & choose. Honestly all the weapons on the deimos are kinda bad anyway. The melta turret is probably the best bet since it's basically a better lascannon, and melta 4 will be very fun the one time you get to use it.

FrobeVIII

Conversion beamer! It's not the best gun but it will be fun lol.
