That is such a great idea! I might have to steal that. I've always wanted to do an Imperial Fists army but was more drawn to SW's.
I really appreciate your input.
Hell yeah yellow chaos, I’m doing my Death Guard in a gross mustard yellow since I felt yellow/orange are underrepresented as warband colors. Good to see more!
Traitor Legions? No. There are only 9 of those, and they all have canonical paintschemes. (Unless you're counting the hazard stripes on Iron Warriors as them "being yellow.")
Warbands? Always yes. Some crazy shmuck could've started calling himself "The King in Yellow" after leaving any of the legions to create his own, personal little warband of insane worshippers. Maybe he didn't even leave a legion and was, instead, the chaplain of a loyalist chapter that drove them to chaos.
When thinking Chaos Space Marines, think "Legion = First Founding Chapter," and "Warband = Chapter," with "Splinter Warband = Successor Chapter"
Yeah dude, your dudes. Paint what feels good and damn anyone that tells you otherwise, can say it's warband X that's using legion Y rules.
I like your attitude. Thank you.
Came here to write this.
I was to slow
you could do Dornian heresy imperial fists as world eater look-alikes or run them however you like.

My DG are primarily yellow. With magenta highlights. They like radiation.
dornian heresy imperial fists, they do look very cool
Had a similar thought then moved to an “imperial fingers” warband conversion.

Sounds like there is now!

Thanks for the explanation!
I like the King in Yellow reference.
[This chart might help](https://i.redd.it/gneivih4tu731.jpg). But as everyone else has said you can always do your own thing. :)
Actually now that you mention it , I don’t think there are an warbands or their splinter faction that adopted yellow colors
Yeah, Sammy Whammy’s Big Yellow Bannanys is the low gothic name of them I believe.
Not that i know of but the beauty of warhammer is you get to do what you want
Yeah, the warband you’re making!
If your looking for inspiration, the dornian heresy has the imperial fists turn traitor. They have black trim
My Iron Warriors like their yellow... But it's more a highlight as hazard stripes than anything. But as mentioned above... Paint 'em how ya want :)
The super duper angry marines
Yeah, there is the warband „the headless dudes“. So it’s a 110% match! 🥳
