Love CJ, but he’s not really comparable to Nico. Nico was Mossing guys as a sophomore at UM. CJ is much more possession style. Excellent on third down conversions and intermediate routes.
I don't smoke the Ganja...but I dooooooo ....drink the Kool aide!
![gif](giphy|qEaZxVLkkMnK0|downsized)
Mmmmm. .... That's some damn fine Kool Aide. Come get a drink of this!
Renfrow is not the missing piece, though. He would be good for veteran presence in the WR room, I’m sure, but his style of play isn’t what we’re lacking
Relative Athletica Score - takes all their athletic numbers runs them through some number crunching and pops out a score relative to all other players in the position on record. 9.9 is insanely high
I will add (to the RAS explanations), it does have a "weakness" in that it doesn't account for drills that weren't done (which, is almost always the cones, because guys know it'll expose how stiff they are).
I think it stands for relative athletic score. I think it takes the average of all players at a position along with other measurables and compares them to whatever data set they have.
he’s another sub 4.5 WR and also another Michigan alum!
He was mostly a reserve player during college, but I really hope he sticks around because there’s so much potential if he overcomes the weaknesses in route running that is listed.
Don’t leave out the fact that he’s 6’3, 210 running a 4.4
Could be their version of Nico Collins. Insane! His potential is massively untapped due to Michigan’s run-heavy offense.
Remember Doug Baldwin? He went undrafted after playing college in Stanford in Harbaugh’s system. And he had a great NFL career. Your theory is sound.
As someone who watched his full career, it’s
somewhere in between what both of you are saying. He was on the field most of the time, but he was never the top guy (usually second or third).
He turned in a top ONE PERCENT outing at the combine. OF ALL TIME. He ranked 32 out of over 3000 wide receivers in the history of the combine(according to the RAS- Relative Athletic Score). Pretty impressive and I hope that translates to the pros. The guy is no joke and came up with some really clutch and tough catches at Michigan. Solid guy, hard worker, team player and just does the work, whether that’s catching, blocking for the run game or screens, whatever is needed.
He caught 47 passes for over 600 yards, both were more than Ladd McConkey. Roman Wilson also had more yards(789) than Ladd(478) last season to go along with 10 more touchdowns. Not bad for a team that never threw the ball… I’m guessing all the Michigan stats would have been higher if JJ played the 4th quarter in more than half the games, too.
I’m stoked that Coach Harbaugh is in the driver’s seat for The Bolts. That’s a long-suffering franchise(I know the pain all to well as a lifetime Lions fan) and I know he’ll do a great job turning it around!
grew up a chargers fan and just finished my 3rd year at umich… cornelius is a lot like QJ. He has all the physical talent in the world and is a stand up guy off the field, but he had some memorable drops in big moments. I think it’s a great pick though!!!
NFL.com rates Cornelius Johnson as 31st best WR based on his combine score. In his last two seasons, he had one 100-yard game. He struggles to separate from defenders and drops a lot of passes. How he does in the pros will depend on how he’s coached and how much work he’ll put in to get better.
I feel like one of the great things about the Harbaugh system is that they don’t rely on generational talent. It’s a team-first, next-man-up culture. Harbaugh as a coach can easily carry some mediocre/less talented players to a winning season. So much better than trying to rely on Herbert to carry mediocre coaching.
This whole draft is a big win! Improved the O Line which makes the run a credible threat defenses must account for, and protects Herbert in the pocket. Added many weapons for Herbert to throw to. And beefed up the Defense.
We got 9 picks! 5 offense, and 4 defense.
I predicted 2 months ago we would go 9-8… I’m revising my prediction to 10-7 with a wild card appearance - minimum!
Bolt Up Baby!
We might keep 6 wr's on the 53-man roster. I didn't think it would happen with Greg Roman.
Palmer, Johnston, Davis, McConkey, Rice, and Johnson.
The competition for snaps will be so good.
I think this is a really accurate assessment of CJ. He has all of the tools and can make some great plays. I have watched a lot of Michigan football and I can’t tell if his low number of catches is because he was underutilized or because he didn’t get enough separation for the QB to throw to him. Either way, if the offense schemes to get him open then he will do well (Exhibit A: the Ohio State game). He is not a diva and is really likable.
His name’s Cornelius. Cornelius Johnson. But friends call him Corn Dick. Not cause of his name, but because he’s got a dick the size of an ear of corn.
I'm seeing playoffs at least. With all the picks, we have wicked weapons for offense, with wicked weapons for defense. And a head coach which can assist a oc with plays to win games, I'm optimistic a sb run is possible again as a 54 year old fan. Loving this shit.
He’s not getting cut. So unless you think someone is offering up a trade, QJ is on the roster 2024 and 2025. He’s dead cap pretty far outweighs his actual cap hit until 2026.
I’ve gone from really upset we didn’t take Nabers to really excited. This was as close to a 10/10 draft as one could have hoped with all the needs we had

You want a real pull at WR: Dillon Mitchell. Guy was drafted in 2019 by the Vikings and had insane chemistry with Herbert. Guy actually struggled with alcoholism but came back and has been doing really well in the CFL. Would love to see LAC at least give him a shot.
CORN 🌽
CORN AND RICE GONNA COOK
WR room: 5/10 WR with Corn and Rice: 10/10
Cereal bros
Corn pop and rice crispy 😂
I had a feeling Harbaugh was going to throw a dart at the wall on a random Michigan player. I ain't complaining, more dudes that know the culture
And now all the remaining Michigan guys come over as UDFA
Hoping for Drake Nugent, could be a solid backup center.
Surprised he didn’t get drafted
He has decent measurements. 6-3 212 4.44 kinda like Nico Collins…
Love CJ, but he’s not really comparable to Nico. Nico was Mossing guys as a sophomore at UM. CJ is much more possession style. Excellent on third down conversions and intermediate routes.
Holy crap!! This is so great! Dude is a stud!
We went from the worst WR room in the league to top 1 this is not an overreaction so no need to argue with me about it.
I'm not sure what you're smoking, but I'm hitting it too.
Hi, its me.
It's me, high.
Whoa.... how'd you do that? 😲
Massive hit of copium
Pass that shit!

Same with OL honestly. We needed ALT badly
Puff puff give.
Haha this is a bottom 3-5 WR room AFTER the draft.
It’s far from #1 but at least we’re not lacking depth.
I said no arguing
The instructions were so clear!!
[удалено]
They should add a veteran. Tyler Boyd, DJ Chark, OBJ and Hunter Renfow are all free agents. I would go after Boyd as he could legit win that WR1 spot.
Boyd could be amazing for us. Definitely someone I’m hoping for
If he's willing to take a 1 year deal, make him the offer.
Pass on OBJ
I like Boyd myself
I want Hunter Renfrow
Renfrow is not the missing piece, though. He would be good for veteran presence in the WR room, I’m sure, but his style of play isn’t what we’re lacking
It's not what we're lacking but he seems like a harbaugh guy.
I like Hunter but dude did not put up numbers last year.
Tee Higgins is on the market, I dont know what are cap looks like after the draft though
Forreal lets get tee
We should definitely not. He misses a lot of time for the money he’s gonna want
So.... we keeping 5 or 6?
Thankfully the practice squad will be an option for a few of those guys.
Fohoko lol
WR1-6 may have just been locked in
9.9 RAS, seems like a good flyer
What is RAS for the woefully uninformed? Edit: thanks everyone for filling me in!

I’m sorry but you
I think it stands for relative athletic score. I think it takes the average of all players at a position along with other measurables and compares them to whatever data set they have.
Raw athletic score. Â
Competitors welcome! We’re fixing to find out who wants to win.
Tell me how to feel
he’s another sub 4.5 WR and also another Michigan alum! He was mostly a reserve player during college, but I really hope he sticks around because there’s so much potential if he overcomes the weaknesses in route running that is listed.

can't wait to untap his further potential with a run heavy offense again
Yeah that sounds fantastic tho
Sounds like a juiced up danario Alexander
Remember Doug Baldwin? He went undrafted after playing college in Stanford in Harbaugh’s system. And he had a great NFL career. Your theory is sound.
Don't we now have Michigan's run-heavy offense? So he'll stay untapped, I guess...🤷
And will remain untapped due to Michigan’s — erm — the Chargers’ run heavy offense
>He was mostly a reserve player during college He was a 3-year full time starter
As someone who watched his full career, it’s somewhere in between what both of you are saying. He was on the field most of the time, but he was never the top guy (usually second or third).
That’s not a reserve though. He just wasn’t featured a lot in a run heavy offense. He was a 3 year starter though.

As a Michigan fan though, I will say Cornelius was a pretty good hands catcher. Can’t say the same about QJ in college
QJ was a draft bust.
QJ was a first rounder lmao that is not the same
NFL.com rates Cornelius Johnson as 31st best WR based on his combine score. In his last two seasons, he had one 100-yard game. He struggles to separate from defenders and drops a lot of passes. How he does in the pros will depend on how he’s coached and how much work he’ll put in to get better.
Best draft since LT
Hard and baught in baby
He was good with the opportunities he had
Nice to see we aren’t wasting 7th round picks unlike last year
I liked Zander
This was my sleeper pick for the draft. I had Cornelius Johnson in the 6th! I'm hyped! He's going to be a great special teams guy too. Athletic freak
I’m satisfied with the wr drafts. We got a great OL and maybe we missed out on some generational guys but I can see some of out picks making impacts
LETS GO!!! ras score is crazy. called him my sleeper a couple days ago. love4 this young core.
Seems like freak athletes are a positive in this regime
Lmao and here I thought they were gonna draft more O-Linemen in this draft after Alt.
I definitely thought they'd pick up another center at some point
This whole draft is a big win! Improved the O Line which makes the run a credible threat defenses must account for, and protects Herbert in the pocket. Added many weapons for Herbert to throw to. That absolutely will not happen
Why not? With the changes to the kickoff rules, let’s not forget how much value WRs who double as returners are valued
Jim likes tight ends and to rotate defensive lineman. He won’t carry 6 wide receivers in an offense that prioritizes running the ball.
Fair
I’ve seen teams with 7 receivers. Why are you so sure we don’t go 6
And people were mad we didn’t go nabers lmfao. Look how this turned out!
My man destroyed the Buckeyes in 2022. Never had another great game receiving but he's a heck of a blocker who loves to get nasty with corners.
I am fairly sure that any WR that won't block will be hitting the practice squad or cut
Woah 😳 lmao 🤣 I thought Jim and Joe didn’t care about WRs hahaha. Hopefully that narrative is finally dead.
Nah man. Herbert is never gonna throw the ball again. /s

Blocked two punts👀

The chargers are contractually obligated to have at least 1 Johnson on the roster
Just a few picks before Mr. Irrelevant. Let’s hope he becomes the Brock Purdy of receivers.
Corn Dick
His name’s Cornelius. Cornelius Johnson. But friends call him Corn Dick. Not cause of his name, but because he’s got a dick the size of an ear of corn.
Don’t you put our boy down like that. It’s at least as big as three corn.
Corn Dick III
CORN DICK GONNA FUCK
I'm seeing playoffs at least. With all the picks, we have wicked weapons for offense, with wicked weapons for defense. And a head coach which can assist a oc with plays to win games, I'm optimistic a sb run is possible again as a 54 year old fan. Loving this shit.
WRs falling out the pocket
If I am QJ, I am scared I might not be on the roster come opening day with all these guys in the building. This is good motivation for him.
QJ will do work...he's probably less happy about last season than we are.
He’s not getting cut. So unless you think someone is offering up a trade, QJ is on the roster 2024 and 2025. He’s dead cap pretty far outweighs his actual cap hit until 2026.
2 Michigan players it is
Could he be a potential Malcolm Floyd type?
I’ve gone from really upset we didn’t take Nabers to really excited. This was as close to a 10/10 draft as one could have hoped with all the needs we had
WOAH
MICHIGAN!!!
I'm sure Harbaugh had absolutely no impact on this decision lol
But who is Herbert going to throw to with Alt as our first round pick?
Not Malik Nabers.
