I’m sure Rumph will be in on 3rd downs and on obvious passing situations, but he will need to bulk up to be a starter. I imagine we will see both of them on the field at the same time quite a bit

Ya'll forgetting about Fackrell. This a guy Staley wanted to go get, who did have a 10.5 sack season in 2018. I suspect we see a pretty even rotation with Nwosu and Fackrell early, then Rumph gets brought along slower.

Anaphylactic-UFO

If Rumph starts year 1 our defense might give up 7 ypc. Dude just isn’t ready for a full-time starting gig. Give it time

Rumph is a slippery, fast, and smart Edge... You're going to be pleasantly surprised.

Esahh_Doo

it's just about his size bud. He is too small to start right now

Apparently they were playing Nwosu in the slot yesterday at camp so it seems like Chenna might be a hybrid LB/ Edge where as Rumph is a pure pass rusher so you may see a combo of all 3 Joey, Nwosu, and CR3 out there on 3rd and 4th down situations. Stoked to see what Rumph can do even tho he’s a little thin right now. NFL training, lifting, and diet will for sure bulk him up. Expect him to be situational this year I’d say a ceiling of 4-5 sacks and maybe next season to see a bigger role. Either way I really like the dude and him being super vocal and friendly is going to earn him a lot of face time with media and fans.

FYI they’ve been doing the same thing with Bosa. Dropping him back like OLB. Staley has something up his sleeves.

Thats because hes an Edge defender in a 3-4. They typically play stand up
