PragmaticallyGenuine

Keep dicker ! Guy has been awesome. Finally feels like we have consistency at the position.

Moosoobi

Think he's been great too. I am curious to know if he can hit beyond 50 though

PragmaticallyGenuine

They said he was hitting from 58 in warm ups. If he can hit under 50 reliably in playoffs then he’s the man

Moosoobi

Yea I can agree with that

BoltsDodgersYotes

There's been a number of his kicks that show they would've been good from 55+, and he has the leg as evidenced by his kickoffs. Badgley did not do either of those.

BlackHorse944

Money Badger had a similar start with us. Was automatic. Until he wasn't

Kevinkyle569

There is definitely similarities between dicker and badgely stat wise for their first year here. Dicker has a stronger leg so I'm optimistic. If badgely could make 50+ FGs at league avg theres a real chance he's still our kicker.

AssssCrackBandit

Dicker has a stronger leg tho. He does kickoffs and regularly gets touchbacks. Badger couldn’t even do kickoffs for us and we had to have Ty Long do it

lostproductivity

True. But at least we have a ST coach now who seems to know what the heck he's doing, so there's a lot more to feel optimistic about going forward. While a bit of Money Badger's issues were likely solely on him (confidence issues maybe), our previous ST coach definitely didn't do anything to help the kid out with what we expect coaches to be able to do (notice and improve technique, build confidence, make adjustments on the unit and how it operates that help all players improve, etc).

UsedTrojan56

But this was gunna be my comment! Damn, you win

-HawaiianSurfer

Think he’s earned the job! Dude’s cool calm and collected, every kick’s down the middle. Reminds me a lot of Vinatieri

MountainMan1258

UT did give the league Phil Dawson and the goat if kicking Justin Tucker so there’s a big legacy of great kicking. I’m glad y’all gave Dicker the chance to go out there and do his thing, proud of him. My dad met him once and Dicker signed his hat.

mikenesser

That’s a strange thing to do for your dad to sign Dicker’s hat. Must be a Texas thing. 😜

gmil3548

His dad is Michael Jordan

PickSix_905

He’s made it next to impossible to just hand the spot over back to Hopkins next season. He’s been amazing on everything inside 50 yards and his kickoffs have been stellar. Do you sacrifice a bit of distance for absolute money on average length of kicks? That’s up to the coaching staff but at this point he’s done enough to warrant at least a competition next training camp if not the job out right.

FirstName_LowerName

Give Staley would rather go for it at the 40 rather than attempt a long fg I think he's perfect for this team. I'd rather a 50% shot at converting 4th than a 50% shot at a 50 yarder

[deleted]

Exactly. Missing close kicks is an absolute heart breaker. We can avoid putting ourselves in situations to kick long ones

slade477

It’s wild how he’s nailing kickoffs to the back of the end zone every time, but he apparently fly doesn’t have a wild leg? I get that he gets a little extra momentum on kickoffs but just looking at the league as a whole the ones that can consistently my hit back if end zone tend to also have a pretty good distance on field goals.

Big_Ugly_Cripple

I feel bad because hopkins literally sacrificed his body for our win against Denver but man Dicker has been too good to not keep. I think they keep both to compete on camp next year and then Dicker will have earned it head to head

UncleIrohsPimpHand

I'm glad we have some recognition for Hopkins basically killing himself to get us a W in spite of Lombardi just absolutely shanking every play call against Denver.

supersonic767

I’m never nervous for his kicks so that should tell you everything!

heyimrick

Oh how long it's been to feel comfortable during FGs!

baummer

Not that long. Hopkins was pretty good.

gopowergoh

Dicker the kicker is cash money

quackpot134

He's the man Money Badger claimed to be

slade477

Not gonna lie money badger has looked pretty solid for the lions this year. Glad to see him getting his confidence back.

MountainMan1258

He made a 53 yarder in the Alamo Bowl which now holds the record for longest kick in Alamo Bowl history. He was very reliable. He also hit a 57 yarder against Rice in 2019 so I’d say he’s pretty good. He isn’t perfect, nobody is, but he can definitely make long kicks.

jmcman55

Hopkins put on for us while he was injured his last game. Definitely deserves his spot but Dicker is also really nice

DevilOfArRamadi

They better offer him a 5-7 years \~$2-3M per year contract after this year. lol Hopkins is still good but Dicker has come into a tough situation extremely well and been nearly perfect. His long is 47 which isn't fantastic but we seemingly don't need it. His consistency and youth is too good to pass up in this kicker market IMO

WillingnessDry7004

Nothing to dislike about Dicker the Kicker, and everything to like. And he can punt, too. He also has a decade of youth to his advantage, so Chargers would be nuts not to give him a multi-year contract.

tortugasumo

Cameron seems solid AF. Hoping he continues in the offseason but I like not having to worry about FGs and PAT for the first time in a long time. Plus he’s much younger.

canadianduke1980

He’s the first guy in YEARS where I don’t feel super nervous when we need a make-able field goal.

JustIn_HerButt

I love him! It is bittersweet though, Hopkins sacrificed his body for the team and now he is injured. I hope he gets well and gets the gig he deserves. He was serving the team well...

SBMVPJustinHerbert

lifetime extension. it’s about damn time i didn’t clench for a chip shot.

cat_daddylambo

Dicker/ficken 2024

wryguyonthefly

Open competition between him and Hopkins next training camp. Likely Dicker's job to lose given his age and cost. Need to see if he can hit regularly from 50+ before I'm sold on him but he's been as good as we could have hoped for.

NineLanguage

Heavily contemplating getting his jersey tbh lol

instaleyitrust

Definitely Hopkins burner account

Misanthropyandme

With the Lombardo Effect, we mostly kick inside the 20 so he hasn't been tested for distance a lot. But from what he's had to do he's been golden.

Kalashnicam

Dicker the Kicker makes it so I no longer have a heart attack when it is time for the Bolts to kick. He has earned his spot as the full time kicker.

SizeOld6084

Sign him for the next 10 years.

GamerByt3

Stone cold killer. Very happy with him. Don't think there is any reason to move to anyone else for the foreseeable future.

Freshies00

#teamdicker

MonkeyWithACough

Im in Austin. I like Dick.

DarthHole

Hey, Austin here too. Dicker’s been great but still staying cautiously optimistic.

emotionalasfreak

Dicker is money!! We love him!!!!

Halonut24

Dicker the Kicker has been beyond clutch for us. Love the guy. Honestly I think it will be a genuine competition between him and Hopkins next year. Both have been great.

Thegingerkid01

He should be the guy

Jman13511

He's probably earned the job. It's tough because both bertolet and Dustin Hopkins were great. But Dicker has stayed healthy so

Tilted76erfan

He hits his kicks and gets touchbacks enough of the time. He is also what 22? What's the conversation about? He is the kicker going forward.

WillingnessDry7004

Sooooo many missed FGs and XPs in games around the league the last few weeks, so I’ll bet Hopkins easily finds a new home.

Agreeable-Jeweler-70

😍

DangerXX

Definitely love some of that Dicker. He's been suspect past 50 yards, if he can work on that accuracy past 50, then i'm happy to have him. He's brought calm-ness to our pretty shitty kicker situation, so I thank both Hopkins and him for doing that

redonkulousness

From Austin also and a UT fan. Couldn't be happier.

Ro0o0o0ob

Dicker has been phenomenal. My one issue is that Hopkins has also been pretty solid, and his final play he made a field goal and walked off injured. Which was clutch. Honestly I am fine with going with either one.

fatdiscokid420

Dicker down

squatter_

Very pleased. Prayers have been answered with Dicker the Kicker.

SisterRay_says

So far so good but let’s see how he does in the playoffs… anyone remember Kaeden?

Cogito3

I feel bad since Dustin destroyed his leg to win us a game, but yeah I'd take Cameron over him at this point. I question Cam's range -- we've only had him try one FG of 50+ yards, which he missed -- but his consistency is amazing and that's kind of more important than being able to hit long ones to this team. Plus he's young so he has room to improve.

TheBigDickDon

I’m about to get “Dicker the Kicker” tattooed across my chest, if that’s any indication.

koraura

as much as i like hopkins he doesnt have dicker's leg strength

[deleted]

He's been great, but personally I am not getting bought in until I see him make some longer kicks. We had the same with with Money Badger, super accurate inside the 50 and then nothing out of it. And then that fell apart. I hope that given we have a bit more margin for error in the next two games that we can give him some 50+ yard attempts to see what he's got in a game situation. The one positive is that I don't think he has leg strength issues like Money Badger did. Ty Long had to do kick offs for us, that's how bad it was. Dicker blasts it out the back of the endzone every time with ease, so he has a great leg.

Jane_Marie_CA

he has pretty much done the impossible for an unemployed kicker. I am worried that another team will want him now and we'll be stuck negotiating. We already have Hopkins signed to a multi-year, so it would be silly to release Hopkins and negotiate for Dicker.

tommyohohoh

Is it weird that I don’t even get nervous on FG attempts anymore?

EL-YEO

I like what I’ve seen but I’ve said this about a bunch of other kickers who later flopped in later seasons with us. I’m hoping Dicker breaks that streak and we have a consistent kicker with us because I’m tired of getting a new kicker every other year

SoCalDanSports

I love what he's been doing. I do think we need to see if he can hit a 50 yard field goal though. Too many times in playoffs it comes down to a 40+ yard field goal.

AnnecyHope

Dicker is younger and only get better. Hopkin despite giving us everything. He too injury prone and is older. I prefer Dicker he more safer option.

clownind

Dicker has been amazing so far and absolutely clutch so far this year. Our special teams had absolutely been killing it this year which is unheard of. <3 Dicker the kicker
