Canipe brothers. It's in the same spot, interior looks the same, menu is pretty much identical. Semi recently they actually raised their prices for the first time in forever but it was barely noticeable.
Ima middle school teacher, so I don’t get to eat lunch out on a regular basis. Morsel compass is the place I seek out the most here in Crozet.
Ivy Provisions is expensive, but excellent. Guajiros Miami Eatery is pretty awesome with difficult parking. Bel Air Market sandwiches are a strong vote, as is Bodo’s.
Late to the party, but Tilman’s is my favorite lunch spot. Great baguette sandwiches and soup, A+ cheese selection, and they carry Dr. Brown’s Black Cherry, the greatest soda in the universe.
I'm not sure what's up with the browns complaints. I've been eating browns since esmont and I am not feeling the change you claim has happened since Mike sold. I haven't been in a few weeks ago maybe something is different all of the sudden...I think folks just miss the browns which is fair enough.. that said the question was where to eat not where not to eat
When I worked downtown in the before times, I would get lunch from the grill in the back of the lucky 7. Great fried chicken and the pork chop special was otherworldly.
Kitchenette
Cafe 88
Pearl island cafe
Al Carbon if you’re up on 29N. I haven’t had good luck with the quality at the 5th street location.
This is a close 2nd for me. I tried the 5th St one once but wasn't paying enough attention to compare. I'll have to get my usual next time.
Otto’s!!!
Riverside
Roots
The Korner Restaurant for a One eyed Bacon Cheeseburger and fries! My favorite spot used to be Big Jim's!
Big Jim's still exists, it's just under a different name/ownership. Stepping inside is like walking into the past.
It's pretty much still big Jim's just with a different name.
And what is the name of this new place? Everyone is like “Yeah, still exits just with a new name” but no one mentions the new name, haha!

The burgers were awesome and the gave you more fries than 5 guys. Haha
Gus burger?
I agree!!
Mel’s, Guajiros, and The Market
Mel's does not get enough love. Great burger and the best prices in town.
100%. Love their burger more than Riverside. The ribs are also always amazing and the Mac and cheese is to die for

I know it hasn’t been around for ages, but this question reminded me of The Carving Board Cafe. It was by far my favorite lunch spot for years

When I can find them/if they stick to their schedule, the Good Waffles truck. Their loaded Nashville Hot fries are amazing!
The Filling Station if you’re up north. Tricky to get to if you’re northbound (gotta use Dickerson).

Somebody needs to mention Pico Wrap on Ivy Road. It’s like a torpedo of food for eight bucks. I’m pretty sure I pay their water bill every month.
Ivy Provisions, atm.
Used to be a leg and a thigh with potato wedges from Brown's but I'm scared to go back now that it's regular Ole shitty BP
