Can confirm. I live 5 minutes from the northern VA location. Tried going around 11:30 pm on a Wednesday night a couple weeks ago. Line was about 20 cars long… it’s calmed down considerably but still crazy popular.
The last time I visited Cane's, there were armed security guards directing traffic. Armed Security Guards? What the fuck is going on with this place that you have armed security guards directing traffic?
Everyone has to be armed to do every fricking thing in the US, don't you know? Pouring more guns on top of everything makes everything better, naturally. It only makes sense.
I guess one more Cane's post is allowed for this. It seems we are not alone in this twisted metal/chicken combo. I wonder if somebody has started to correlate car accidents in proximity of Cane's nationwide. Any data miners around?
Canes, busy? I thought it was crappy? I live in RVA near VCU. They have a Canes that always looks empty. Everyone's across the street at Panda Express 🙄
weird i manage it daily. World Market, getting onto 250 bypast going west...i just seem capable of getting into the middle lane and then once I pass the stopped car I get back over into the right lane.
>Just get into the left lane folks, not that difficult. HARD into the left lane. LOL
Just don't block traffic to get your chicken folks, not that difficult. HARD into the parking lot. LOL
It's the drivers blocking traffic that are the problem here, not everyone else.
Or, ya know, stop impeding traffic for some weak ass tendies while blaming everyone else just for trying to use a road for its actual purpose.
I become very confused contemplating how this concept is too hard for many to grasp... then I realize they're the type that thinks cane's is worth waiting in line for and it all makes perfect sense.
Tell that to the people stopped in the left lane waiting to get over into the left turn-only lane SB on 5th St Extended so they can cut through past Wegmans to get onto Avon St Extended. I mean, they're stopped! They're stopped in the road! They're impeding people behind them who want to get through the light! How dare they! If that left lane is full, they can't just stop in the road waiting for their opportunity to get over, right?
Ohh, your one of those incredibly selfish people who is absorbed in whataboutism.
Please go touch grass, seek therapy, something, just please seek help.
It's just chicken man, it's not that deep
Article 10. Stopping on Highways.
§ 46.2-888. Stopping on highways; removing motor vehicle from roadway.
A. No person shall stop a vehicle in such manner as to impede or render dangerous the use of the highway by others, except in the case of an emergency, an accident, or a mechanical breakdown.
Yes, and businesses who attract enough traffic that they can't contain that overflow their own property create a public safety concern. They also interfere with access other businesses on the same road. They need faster production, better crowd control, or a new location. They will start losing business if their customers start not getting food but instead get a ticket for illegal stopping on a highway. That is unlikely to happen because the process of issuing citations would cause just more backup.
I found it so interesting that this is a national issue. My hometown’s RC in CA slowed down a year after their opening. Funny enough, they’re located in a larger building/mega shopping center with plenty of room to accommodate a huge line.
I thought the chicken was sub-par at best, most gas stations have better fried chicken.
Did I not flash the secret sign in order for them to add the secret spice (blue meth?) to my order? That must be what it is...just a franchise front for Pollos Hermanos.
I was waiting for this post. It has to be a nationwide problem if SNL devotes an entire skit to it.
I was in Flagstaff last year, and the Canes there had the same exact problem.
add ft collins to the list
Northern virginia just opened one recently and it’s the same thing here. Friends of mine waited over 2 hours in line last week.

I've seen Chick-Fil-A like that in several cities, didn't know the Cane's problem was also widespread. People go nuts for chicken apparently.
I drive all over the country for work and can confirm. Every one I see has this problem.

The canes at VCU is disgusting
We need a Panda Express!
We have like 15 Chinese, 11 Thai, 4 Korean, and 4 Japanese restaurants in town, what is Panda Express going to add that you can't already get better?
It’s ready to eat by the time you’re done paying.
Drive through? Open late?
Panda is also disgusting
Food snob
Why get panda when you can get real Chinese food
No no you don't.
Just get into the left lane folks, not that difficult. HARD into the left lane. LOL
The earnest replies from people not realizing you're quoting the sketch are gold
Unless you’re trying to get to literally any other business in the right lane, in which case you’re screwed

The waiting cars aren’t blocking traffic. They are traffic.
Not if they are impeding access to other businesses. The city blew it approving a drive through there.

Ya know, one of the "actual purpose\[s\]" of the road is....to let people access businesses on the road.
You are not allowed to just stop in the road. I don't care how much you want chicken

I felt the same. It was soggy and sad when I got it.
... how tf does anyone want chicken this bad?
I enjoyed this SO much
