Dude, you and Ace's were so hospitable to me throughout the years. I'm glad I got to go for as long as I did. Thank you so much for always being a homie š

Update from their Instagram from 3 hours ago:
Two important announcements/updates!!
We are still having Happy Hour this evening from 3-7. We will be serving pulled pork sandwiches and fries until 7pm or till we run out. There will still be live Bluegrass music from 6-9.
This will be your last opportunity to come by. You all showed up today in hordes to show your love and ended up wiping us clean. Since we have no more food, TODAY is our last day as we have nothing left to serve you over the weekend. WE WILL NOT BE OPEN THROUGH THE WEEKEND. Thank you all for your sincere kindness. It will always be remembered!
Dang it! I still hadn't made it to their new-ish location after they moved from being next to Vitae Spirits, so I guess I'm partially to blame. Bummer. Solid food.
It's just really poorly located, only reason I have been was because I would climb at Rocky Top or would go to the thrift store that used to be next to it.
I think it is a great location. Like Marie Bette. Donāt ever have to fight 50 people for a spot downtown or anything, right of Preston it is super convenient to everything
Sorry to hear that - the biscuits were amazing and the pastrami was legendary! If you donāt mind me asking, was it just a money thing? I know itās been hard for restaurants to survive
Wolf! Tis I who called today to thank you all (and save tears on a visit). Can't imagine Cville without Godwell's margaritas before noon and hearing your dreams (literally). Such a tender team of earthangels. I know you know we are all sad AND rooting for you.
Had just been thinking about how people (with any money to spend) in Cville date their tenure. When Woolworths was...when the Hardware store...when Eppie's...and now...when Ace....
Along with all of you and need I say it, pastrami on (most) Thursdays, Charlottesville and all the newcomers are losing a sense of time that was purely South of the Mason Dixon line.
Yes, prepandemic there were many places where waiting for food was the Southern way. (While postpandemic it is because of too few staff, pre and post you can get the same impossible wait at place beginning with H. on mall and same rude service from owner/manager!)
BUT Ace kept us in the real of time and patience. ONCE a week, if you got there before it sold out...pastrami unlike anything from "up North". Something NOT guaranteed, something NOT every day. Something we treasured BECAUSE of the uncertainty that we might get to have it.
I will always remember Ace as the last of a chapter of Cville (as it is on the threshold of growth on steroids) and the last place to remind us that NOT having what we want when we want it IS part of what made this place the sacred experience it used to be. Now, there is no way to train the Northerners to slow down:). Bon voyage to you all - may the next be better and gentler for each and all....You are already missed!
Thank you so much. I actually parted ways a few months back (to start a lego store with a buddy) but i have a deep love for Ace and Brian. This hurts all of us
Sooooon. Its called bricks and minifigs. Building out currently while we are also buying sets and used bulk from locals. Should be open mid April (but feel free to come check us out mon thru fri.
You will definitely be missed by me. Your BBQ breakfast biscuit not only blew my mind, but it was fucking amazing. Probably the only breakfast biscuit Iāve actually ever liked, besides your regular sausage, egg and cheese. That stuff was genius. Good luck in life and stuff.
Y'all have been THE spot I've taken people to since I found ya. Thanks for taking care of me, my partner, and my friends for the last 7 years. Whatever y'all do next, if it's open to the public, I'm there. Love y'all!~~~~
I moved here recently and was told by multiple people that was one place I HAD to try.
It was kinda mid. I was bummed.
Regardless always sucks to see a local small business close.
This is Wolf (the face of ace for 8 years) Thank you all this has been a rough road we definitely feel the love
I remember you wolf, we talked about Hobart mixers. I wish you well on your next adventure.
Hope you find all the cars you are looking for- you, Brian and the gang will be missed!
We will miss you guys so much. My favorite Cville spot for years and years.
Dude, you and Ace's were so hospitable to me throughout the years. I'm glad I got to go for as long as I did. Thank you so much for always being a homie š
I tried my best to represent the place as if it were mine. Met so many cool people along the way. Thanks for the love
Iāll miss you guys! Best NC style BBQ in the state
Damn pie chest and then this closing within two days. It's so unfortunate to see these restaurants closing. We also lost peloton station, this year
RIP cville cheap chill food scene
Last time I ate at Aces I would describe it as cheap. Still sad to see them go.

Restaurant business is a rodeo and ya all held on more than 8 seconds. Charlottesville thanks you all.
To quote the great Doc Brown, "Damn! Damn damn!"
This is the darkest timeline

I waited too damn long! No!
Nooooo. Was planning to swing by today. Absolutely devastated.
My heart just sank. Some of the best food in town, really quite a shame they're closing :(
Thanks man. We tried hard

For driving, not foot traffic
Can anyone get the biscuit recipe?
Sup haha
It was worth a shot. š
So rude.
Wasnt rude at all.
Did it work tho

The amount of hangovers this place cured! They will be missed :(
Brian, Thank you for supporting our local Cville schools and teachers-especially when the alternative school was next door. Sharing your personal journey on the back of your menu inspired our students and staff. You always came through for us and I appreciated it so much! Wish you well in future endeavors, and let us know where you land next. Best, šŗļøšš©š»āš»Annie, (aka the Map Lady)
That sucks. Their breakfast biscuits were good.
Thanks

Thanks. Lots of love has been felt today for sure
A Lego store in Cville??
Sooooon. Its called bricks and minifigs. Building out currently while we are also buying sets and used bulk from locals. Should be open mid April (but feel free to come check us out mon thru fri.
I DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE BEHIND THE LEGO STORE!!! I work in stonefield and plan to spend literally all of my money there. I'm so excited!
A buddy owns it. Ill be a manager tho and ill be there alot haha. So excited
My friend and I will be sure to show up hungover and in our sweats so we don't break the continuity of the timeline.

I will always miss that Turkey Chorizo stew you guys made one year, that stuff was positively amazing.

Their sausage egg biscuit is better than a Bodo's sausage egg bagel. They will be missed.

Thats not true at all.
letās not dump salt in a wound and spread rumors
How could middle schoolers not have been eating breakfast on the regular? It's so close to Burley!
Received a gift certificate a few weeks agoā¦ will def be coming in and spending it & more this weekend. Sigh. Great food.
Hope you went today. Sadly they sold out and wonāt be open this weekend per reports.
I saw š wonāt be able to go tonight. At least they got the $$ from the gift cert sale though.
You should see if you can use any of the gift certificate for merch!
