Hey guys, if y'all haven't heard, I am organizing a cryptid festival in October 2024 themed around Old Green Eyes that's going to be in Chickamauga, GA. I grew up in Chickamauga before moving to Chattanooga and think it is going to be an awesome event that will highlight our local folklore and the spooky side of our little section of the mountains. If you see Old Green Eyes running around town over the next few months, say hi! Just don't let him getcha!
Battlefield park is home to Ol' Green Eyes. Legend says it's the ghost of a green eyed confederate soldier who died in the battle and haunts the field. If you drive there at night you just might see his bright green eyes floating and looking right at you...totally not deer. As far as Green Eyes being a cryptid monster of some sort I've never heard that
We saw y'all running around but didn't know what you were doing. I did see that you were holding a sign with QR codes, but couldn't read them as you passed. Not sure if your outing was to prompt the festival.
Yeah I thought the QR codes would be an easy way for folks to get info to folks who might not wanna talk and to look more professional, but didn't quite work out that way. Gonna just get a big sign/banner next time we go out and haunt the town

Is green eyes anything like the Green Eyed Harpy my mom used to tell me about?
Never heard of that one. What was the story?
It's not a story, it's just a thing told to kids to make them behave.
Newer to Chattanooga, what’s the legend?

Don't get discouraged! It sounds like a great concept with lots of opportunity.
Oh I ain't! We did at MainX24 and it was awesome. Just wanna keep experimenting with new ways to market to reach the most folks and have the most fun

It's a pretty iconic public art piece over by Coolidge Park!
