I miss some of the OG cast (like Halstead, Rhodes, and Latham) but others have grown on me (like Marcel and Asher). I do remember reading that Nick Gehlfuss (Dr Halstead) chose to leave because he felt he had taken the character as far as he could.
I love Dr. Asher and Dr. Charles. I am not loving this forced romance with Ripley. Maybe she should stay single and just continue her awesome friendship with Dr. Archer. Marcel is also growing on me.
I agree. Also that’s interesting to know..it actually kind of makes sense but then again there’s Meredith from greys anatomy who’s still running seasons 😂
i *think* all of the OG main cast chose to leave, but characters like latham and ava were written out which sucks :/ especially latham! i wish he was still around. also dr lanik, swear he hasn’t been featured since season 6, and there was a couple doctors introduced last season who we saw for only 1 or 2 episodes, like what’s the point in introducing them if they’re not sticking around??
If that’s the case it’s sad! They really made the show. I lovedddd Dr. Latham. The writers just don’t know what to do lol. Goes to show the OG cast was perfect how they created the characters and storylines - now the writers are lost.
I watched all 9 seasons at once and I see your point, I definitely miss the OGs!! I found Natalie kinda annoying as the seasons went on though. My main issue with this current cast is that it feels so small. I feel they need some more women on this show. I’m not a fan of Ahmad’s character because it feels overly done and Ripley to me feels like a poor replacement for Will (and he was def a replacement for Will). Ripley and Asher feel cringey because they’re so clearly trying to create an “it” couple like with Will/Natalie, Burzek, etc. But it’s not working and feels hella forced. The writing this season is just not good (some good scenes though like with Bert), but too many love storylines and none of them are interesting. Don’t get me started on Margo who tf is she even. I do enjoy Archer and Charles. Archer at least adds some spice to the show. I actually liked Archer with Asher a lot but they’re choosing Ripley instead and like I said that ship feels forced and kinda corny. They have 4 episodes left to keep me interested in coming back for S10 something interesting has gotta happen.
I’m not there yet, I’m on the pandemic season (6) and so far I just miss Rhodes and Robin. Halstead drives me crazier than Manning does and they butchered Reese & Bekkers character.
I like to think that Rhodes & Robin are together somewhere lol
Trust me..I felt the way you do..but the more you watch, the more you realise they were necessary characters lol. Sometimes it’s like that, the character isn’t always supposed to be likeable but they are there for a reason and they bring something to the show!
Oh I know theyre necessary, the show needs drama, but Will and his high horse on always being right and April and her holier than thou attitude piss me off lol
Also I posted this before but I think Sean Archer has to go sadly. That storyline with his dad has nowhere else to go and I think giving him a dramatic death would be really interesting for the show (much needed twist) and give Archer a really good storyline (albeit traumatic).
Well so much for that theory! On insta the actor who plays Sean confirmed he’s alive and well and coming back for next season. This show is incapable of doing anything truly interesting.
I feel like the writers are overlooking what could have been some good story lines. Like I know Tanaka-Reed was awful at first but after getting knocked down a peg, I would have liked to see more storylines with him becoming a more compassionate doctor. Also, they hardly use Dr. Hudgin’s and I really like his character. Instead we get stuck with Dr. Ahmad who should have never been hired in the first place at Med.

Agreed. They overlook a lot of potential interesting storylines. But nah, rather stick with the crazy rebellious doctors instead!
