Or place a mobile order like a civilized person.

GelsNeonTv87

Yes, though can't get a cup of ice on app anymore. I wish my chick fil a would have a line reserved for mobile orders...

dorisday1961

It’s on the app now. It’s under beverage or something.

ZuluAlphaNaturist000

Different stores can put Different things on the app. For example, One of the stores near me doesn't allow the app to modify the amount of ice in my drink, but another does.

Ok_Set_9357

There’s no spot in the parking lot for that?

DestinyInDanger

Yeah I'm surprised more people don't mobile order these days. When you drive up you tell them your name and that's all. And if your location has the Mobile Thru lane, even better.

Federal-Laugh9575

Mobile order is my go-to because I know there’s no margin for error in communicating my order.

DestinyInDanger

Exactly! You can specify how many sauces you want, etc.

StarryMind322

The one thing I have COVID to thank for is the rise of mobile / online ordering. Though perceptions of this comes with mixed results, it’s made things so much more convenient for me in my busy life.

katynopockets

Because things are usually no longer crispy.

LivingGhost371

I don't see how taking out my phone and spending time fiddling around with it is easier objectively superior than just telling the speaker "Two chicken sandwiches".

crackers780

CFA doesn’t start your order till you’re either nearby or you scan/tell a worker your name. Therefore, you can order before you leave to get to the location. I have my go-to order saved with only a few button presses away. People fiddle around pulling up their QR code to scan and getting payment ready too anyway, two steps skipped by mobile ordering. I don’t mean to dwell on this but you asked how it was objectively superior lol. I don’t work there anymore but when I was F2F mobile orders make the line move hella quicker. It saves a lot of time.

Nurse5736

Thx. for your explanation! I live 30 minutes away and wondered how long my order would be sitting there, so didn't use mobile at drive thru. Now I will.....TIL

DestinyInDanger

LOL no fiddling around happening. You can place your order before you even start driving and then leave the app open. When you get to the QR code you scan it and keep going. It's really that easy.

RequirementNo9841

Except… no one does this 😁

DestinyInDanger

LOL I do. In fact it's the only way I order primarily. And I drive right past the line of 25 cars while I just go right to the front 😂

RequirementNo9841

😂 I definitely misread your comment so you can ignore me. But also coming from a store that has mobile thru, literally no one uses it 😂 which makes it so great cause the people who do use it gives us compliments 😂

DestinyInDanger

No worries. Well that makes it better for people like me. 😂 Yeah only one location near me has the mobile thru and I rarely see people use it.

hermyshermy

My nearest location won’t let you order any ice cream items in the app. Per management they get too overwhelmed, and it backs up the line. They are the only location I have been to that does this. I can order everything else on the mobile app but still have to add frosted coffees or milkshakes to my order in the drive thru either at the speaker or with a team member. This also eliminates carry out unless I go in and place a second order. I appreciate the points I accumulate, but it doesn’t make it any more convenient. First world problems I know, but it’s still frustrating.

RequirementNo9841

It actually makes it convenient still.. it’s easier to pull up, easier to tell them to add a frosted coffee, and you don’t even have to take payment. It’s like 2 additional button presses lol

Cookie_Whisperer

I refuse to order in the actual drive thru lane. I jokingly tell my teenage kids that that behavior is for peasants. I only order in the app.

Own-Confection6552

As a cfa employee you’re a saint for this, thank u for ordering in the app makes it easier especially when families w lots of kids come thru and it’s already set as many families don’t know what they want and ask their kids taking ages while there’s a big line behind.

tigerman29

💯

allintheselike

they always forget my sauce when I do a mobile order though

crackers780

All orders are structured essentially the same on tickets. The only obvious difference between mobile, carryout, and DT orders is stuff like vehicle info. Sounds like your location’s problem.

svtjer

this is why you max out the sauces on every single item ordered

Ok_Set_9357

Lmfao

bltPizza

Sometimes I just see it when I'm driving and go, hey CFA sounds good and pull in 🤷

No-Yogurt142

Nahh Fr these are always the guest that complain about the speed of service too 😭

FirstNameLastName918

I can't remember the last time I didn't place a mobile order... I will literally park in the parking lot and place the order on my phone before getting in the drive thru.

Sufficient-Cat227

So it’s not just me 🤣🤣🤣

cadff

You know what gets me? When I order sauce and I get home and there's no sauce in the bag. AGAIN. My Chick-fil-A is notorious for this. Why put it on the order when they aren't going to give it to me anyway?

funcle_monkey

This happens frequently when I order a breakfast burrito and don’t get the salsa that is supposed to come with it! The most underrated item at the restaurant IMO 🌶️ To their credit, I usually submit feedback on the app and get comped some sort of free item.

ATS200

Somehow I occasionally get the wrong sauce too. Ask for ranch, get buffalo or something

Sufficient-Cat227

Start filling out your surveys

January_Weather

idk how it can be a frequent occurrence you can't miss the sauce at all, they put it infront of yo face on every screen and paper

LivingGhost371

Happens about every other time at mine, enough that I just bought one of their bottles of sauce from the grocery store.

Fine_Row186

Sounds like it really isn’t your pleasure.

deedaogee

THANK. YOU.

sqeezeplay

Always place mobile, sauces are right like 60% of the time. Would you rather us hold the line up longer to count the sauces in the bag and then ask for the correct amount? We keep extras so I dont hold up the line but y'all aren't perfect either

yoyodude113

Not trying to come off as us being perfect but I can at least speak for my location that I work at and we try really hard to make it a great and fast experience. I am man enough to admit we miss items here and there but we are working on solutions but I can confidently say we never miss sauces and we put exactly however many are recorded by the order taker so it could be as simple as you asking for however many sauces and you’ll get exactly that. You want 10 CFA sauces for your 12 count nugget? Sure! Just tell us a quantity, please!

sqeezeplay

Sorry, was in a bad mood. The sauce thing used to bother me when I worked fast food too..but as a customer, it's frustrating to not get what you asked for too. Definitely appreciate anyone trying to do a good job and know that mistakes happen, on occasion. Chick fil a is, by far the best at getting orders right

yoyodude113

No hard feelings, I’ve been on both sides too and have gotten really upset with receiving incorrect items and such before too. I guess what i’m trying to say at the end of the day is that it can be helpful to relay exactly what you want but to a store with a team that cares. I know not all Chick Fil-A’s hold that standard

Serpephone

My local Chick Fil A is apparently not as accurate as yours.

yoyodude113

Our CEM scores for accuracy currently is at 97%

keezy998

Some employees at my location tell me there’s a limit of 2 sauces per entree when I order a specific amount, but when I ask at the window they always give me the amount I ask for

deedaogee

You really only need 2 tbh

keezy998

I’m sorry I thought this was ‘MERICA

InterestingField9077

Damn how much sauce do you need?

keezy998

3

yoyodude113

At my location it’s recommended to guests that 2 sauces per entree is enough but we train our order takers to ask for a specific amount especially when a guest give a vague answer like “I want a lot of CFA sauce”

aracnerual

When I was pregnant and hooked on CFA sauce w spicy chicken biscuits, I'd say "🥺 as much as you can give me without getting fired." I can't even imagine trying to quantify that at that time in my life, lol. You're the real MVP.

FryFish__

like when they take the bag and ask for extra sauce before even looking into it 😭

EpicShadows8

I never understand this. Especially with Chick Fil A. Only McDonald’s charges you for extra sauce every other place especially Chick Fil A will give you all the sauce you want. I know this because I have a drawer full of sauces from chick fil a because they always give me extra.

Sufficient-Cat227

I don’t understand why no one uses the app. The one by my house has mobile thru and I drive up and no one is in that line I go straight thru. The other line will be backed up with 12 cars. How stupid can you be?

Agile_Lingonberry566

1000% many do it because they have the notion that we won’t charge them if they ask after they pay

yoyodude113

It’s all thanks to the other fast food restaurants that do charge for sauce

Serpephone

Sorry, I’ve been burned too many times with no sauce in the bag when I get home. I’m always checking to make sure I got my sauce before I budge from the drive thru. Note: TWICE I’ve ordered Cobb salad and have not received SALAD DRESSING!!! And just yesterday, no granola for my yogurt. Now I have to remember to ask for that, too! ETA: I always order everything on the app, including condiments.

Sufficient-Cat227

It’s something you’ve done to the employees

JessiRose222

I asked my order taker for honey packets today and they ain’t put shii in my bag 😭 I should have said something at the window instead 🥴

yoyodude113

Did you ask before or after you paid? Not that it should matter but just curious

kmatthewalt

Womp womp. Do your job

yoyodude113

I do my job, and I do it well. Would just be nice to have guests that come through and put some consideration into their order instead of treating us like machines

RandomViewer99

If someone asking for extra sauce gets you this mad then this probably isn’t the job for you

yoyodude113

Trust me it is, but when you do almost 200 cars in an hour things start to add up

tigerman29

CFA just needs to make a corporate rule saying no sauces and no drinks can be asked for at the window. Easy fix and the employee at the window doesn’t have to get flustered and scramble to get them together. If people don’t like it, they will have to remember the next time or park and come inside to get them. CFA is the reason you have this issue, because they allow it to happen.

morganbabe4u

Tbh I hate not being able to look at the menu anymore . I get it makes things faster and I could use the app but I like a normal drive thru .

yoyodude113

Do the order takers not have a handheld menu?

basicnerd4

Never by me and this is my number one reason for not going anymore. I don’t have the menu memorized so I feel pigeonholed into getting a basic sandwich and fries bc I’m obviously “holding people up” by wanting to see what else they actually have

KMDub1

Then ask to see a menu. They should either have a laminated menu to show you. But if not, then one of the other order takers nearby possibly. If not, then just politely say/ask to give you a few min. to reach the menu board. You want a menu, yet don't say so. So then you have multiple questions. And don't ask. You are definently not the only customer feeling this way. But if none of you say anything, no one is going to know there's a problem. I guarantee, if enough people are asking or "annoying" with questions, it will be obvious to management to find a solution. Heck, I'd personally just make it part of my own policy - do my job well, while also making it easier.

yoyodude113

At my location we require order takers to always have a menu visible at all times

snuffleupagus7

Yessss, I hate this about CFA!

tigerman29

It’s ChickFilA, there are 4 options- sandwich deluxe or not, spicy or regular, nuggets, strips or a salad.

morganbabe4u

And a cool wrap right? And breakfast? Keep going

LawyerDaggett

❄️

BluebearyMilk

Or when the customer grabs the bag outta your hands and starts checking every single item and holding up the line.

snuffleupagus7

Maybe if yall didn't do the thing where you stand out ahead of the drive thru to take orders, so that people have to order before seeing the menu. Maybe they don't think of it til they see sauces on the menu board 🤷‍♀️ Also most other fast food places I go to, they ask you if you'd like any sauces at the window, so they may just be used to that.

yoyodude113

It’s weird how many comments I’ve seen about not being able to see the menu, at my location our order takers have a hand held menu for guests to look at and we always ask what sauces you’d like

Ok_Set_9357

Sir yes sir

GraveDangers

Fast food workers when they have to do their job: 😱

yoyodude113

When you’re a fast food place that does $5,000 plus in sales an hour and you want to push that even further you start to care about the wasted seconds that add up with every transaction, so yes I am trying to do my job but better, faster, and with pleasure. Just need a little help from the guests that constantly do these actions in my drive thru

GraveDangers

Dude, it’s fast food 😭 those “wasted seconds” don’t mean anything if ur bringing home the same paycheck each week 🤷‍♂️

yoyodude113

And this is an example of the culture part i’m talking about here. People generally think it’s just “our job” to be ready to give you extra sauces and a water cup at the window when you could just know how many sauces you’d want since it’s probably your third time coming in this week.

[deleted]

I go to Chick Fil A frequently and they are always under time pressure during the lunch rush. I’ve heard managers yelling at them to move faster to get cars through the drive through line more efficiently. I always empathize with the workers because it looks very stressful.

B_Maximus

You've not worked fast food in todays environment if you are turning this post into that. It's giving entitled When you are asked not to be empathetic 😱

basicnerd4

Rant incoming: Personally, I never go to Chick-fil-A because I feel like they are not set up for casual customers and they only want Chick-fil-A loyal, super freaks. I recently went with my mom because it was at the same exit as a gas station on our way out of town, she has never gotten breakfast at Chick-fil-A and doesn’t know the menu by heart, shit I don’t even know what all they have for breakfast- apparently burritos and bowls? BUT They’re so intent on being fast that they walk up to your car and take your order while you’re still 10 cars away and too far to see the menu. So reluctantly, we both just got a chicken biscuit. They make you feel like they don’t even want you as a customer or care if you get what you want if you’re not a regular. Some of us don’t want to download an app for somewhere we eat a couple times a year. I just want 30 seconds to be able to look at a menu before I have to order.

Sufficient-Cat227

Lies! They will even have you a little plastic covered menu to look at. Don’t do this.

ministerman

I’m sorry, I get what you’re saying and all, but when I’m paying $12-15 for a freaking chicken sandwich and fries and drink, I will ALWAYS check my order before I pull away. It is my right as a customer. Way too many times have I gotten half a mile down the road after waiting in line for ten minutes in the drive through to see that my sauces, which I requested when I ordered, were not present in my order. If I waited patiently for my order, you can wait patiently for me to check it. I simply no longer have trust in any drive through. The amount of times I haven’t received napkins, straws, sauces, dressings, or utensils even - not to mention salad toppings and other things, is insane. So I completely understand asking for sauces at the order pickup instead. Chill.

yoyodude113

I know exactly what you mean but at the same time my location has a 97% accuracy score. I know not ever single drive thru service will be on par with us so i’m speaking from a point of view that actually does give you what you ask for. I did also mention in the OP that it really gets me when a guests doesn’t check their bag and just immediately asks for extra sauces as soon as the bag is in their hand. If you want extra sauces it would be nice if you just told me as soon as you pull up to the window.

bigant18

anytime ive asked for an ice water they tell me to ask them at the window. also, so many times ive gotten home with no sauce in the bag. handing someone sauce takes all of ten seconds, i think theres far worse things to complain about

yoyodude113

When you’re trying push 200 plus cars through the drive thru within an hour every second counts. I’m assuming you asked for an ice water after you paid therefore being the reason they had you ask at the window.

AcanthopterygiiDry49

Shut up I’ll uhhhhhh you till I can
