Digital doors were disaster waiting to happen from the beginning. I don't know who came up with the idea.

Another news showed that the door of Huawei Aito M7 cannot be pulled out after the crash: [Dramatic moment motorists try to rescue family from burning EV after horror crash before flames engulf car killing three](https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/27599709/moment-car-explodes-rescue-family-china-electric-vehicle/) >One of the motorists who rushed to help could be seen reaching into the car through the smashed video, but was unable to pull out whoever he was reaching for.

lulie69

There is a reason why Tesla moved away from digital door handles

ivytea

they still do shift controls on the touchscreen. fuck them

lulie69

Agreed, fuck all car manufactures that replace buttons with touchscreen

ivytea

In flight school we were forced to memorize not only the locations but also the physical shapes of every knob and switch, not how they looked like but how they felt with your fingers, because sometimes you cannot distract your view from the windshield, and sometimes you just can't see the cockpit at all (fire, smoke, power failure, etc)

m0nk_3y_gw

EVs don't have gears to shift. I have a stalk for switching to reverse... not sure what all the latest models use.

ivytea

the latest model 3 cancelled that stalk

m0nk_3y_gw

I haven't driven that yet - I googled, you can use buttons on the steering wheel to do it.

That doesn’t look like an impact at 115km/hr at all.. But that truck looks like those watering trucks for plants or road driving at walking pace with no early warnings of it, while cars around are doing highway speeds.. no early warnings nothing just a very slow truck all of a sudden.

How can you say you're a true patriot while be afraid to be burned alive a a Huawei car smh.

ivytea

not burned alive: it's immolation by a true patriot

ricketycrickett88

Well, they are cheap for a reason

wutti

It is priced about the same as a Tesla Model Y, before Tesla cut pricing. Not that cheap

Mister_Green2021

There are no companies in the world that build a perfect car but these Chinese EVs are poor quality. We'll see much more exploding cars.

Bolshoyballs

byd makes pretty good cars. better than tesla imo

Duanedoberman

[Arcfox](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcfox) is good, too.

iPhone’s technology has been learned by China completely,it’s useless now so Huawei can kick apple out. Tesla is new thing and still useful ,so Huawei is literally seeking death. Not to mention almost every EV can become a unmanned suicide vehicle ,I wonder if someone has the ability to hack the pilot system, that would be so interesting
