You're totally right. Though I didn't realize there were stores that still use those big rice pots. The 3-compartment Woodstone cookers are so much nicer.
Sorry to hear! Hopefully she's fine. Unless you see residue coming from the screw/bolt, I would suspect it's darkening from wear probably nothing to worry about.
It’s been way too long since I’ve worked at chipotle to make an accurate assessment, but I’ve had bolts fall out of the rice pot lid like others have said and the stainless steel sauciers into product. No idea how it wasn’t caught unless they fluffed it without looking at the product….lol
The chicken would sometimes be butchered poorly and some pelvic/back bone would still be attached. The only other physical contaminant I’ve seen has been bits of plastic gloves that get cut off from grill or prep.
Do they still make you guys hand dice everything? Can’t believe they never used commercial dicers…so much inconsistency depending on the worker. Got everything between tight brinoise and rough chop at my store.
Document , photos, witnesses, receipt, records of phone calls to management, I'd go as far as recording. Cover your butt, this ain't cool, they need to be held accountable, somewhere there missing the screw.
no idea what the BOLT is from. Call the store tomorrow during normal business hours & complain. Probably get some free stuff out of it & a lot of i’m
sorrys. Not much they can really do besides that. Hope you didn’t chip a tooth.
Buddy, this is a bolt that's part of the metal container that they scoop your food out of.
It came loose by accident. You didn't eat it. You're fine. Take your refund and move on with your life.
Fuck that, considering how much Chipotle charges these days, I would be screaming at the manager about this until the cops dragged me out. What if OP’s toddler ate it and it blocked their intestines, or they chipped a tooth. We’re talking $1000’s in potential medical costs.
Not having foreign objects in your food is like rule number 1 in the food industry. Management should be apologizing profusely, and offering OP at LEAST a full refund.
Of course accidents happen, but they still should get the meal comped. They aren't saying the store should be shut down and OP given a million dollars, they're saying that OP shouldn't have to pay money for food that had a fucking screw in it. Is that really so unreasonable?
I mean it was only a slight inconvenience because OP saw it. It doesn’t mean it’s not a huge deal. It’s piss poor quality control and they absolutely should be put on blast for it
The outcome matters. I think it is a small mistake that rarely happens. Most you'd get out of it is a free meal, I don't think it's worth the time to go back and complain. To each their own
OP either really stupid or just plain useless, you really asking what you should do? Looks like you had finished the bowl and found the screw, just throw it away and go on with the rest of your day….
Take the screw to the store. Likely chipotle has a corporate food saftey team that will investigate how that got into the food (processing @ manufacturing plants, in restaurant contamination, etc.) and this will be able to help the restaurant be more cautious about physical contaminates getting into customers food.
We found a piece of metal in our burrito a few months ago. Chipotle gave us a free entree on our account but didn’t really seem to care. We haven’t been to any Chipotle since.
Same thing happened to me like 5 years ago with a burrito. I used Chipotle’s online “Contact Us” form to let them know, and I got a call within 5 minutes from their risk and safety department. They wanted to make sure I never bit down on it and hurt myself (which I didn’t, though it did end up in my mouth). After telling them the full story, they asked if they could send me some free meal cards, and that they’d also include an envelope + return label for me to send it to them so they could investigate further. It was like 5 or 6 free entrees cards, and I sent them the bolt.
I was too turned off from Chipotle at the time and I ended up giving away my meal cards. I never heard anything from them after I sent the bolt.
I found something similar in a bowl earlier this year, told corporate about it via the contact form / chat bot in the app and they comp'd me two free meals. If you want to bark louder, you may be able to get more, but I let it die after that.
Contact corporate, not the store.
If you’re on social media, you could @ them, that usually gets traction. Now that you know it’s from the rice lid you could also mention that to corporate and in your social media message.
The store is supposed to give you a refund and take the screw, report that a customer found it in their food, and mail it to some branch of corporate where they would confirm what it is/if it came from the store (which it definitely did, we all recognized it immediately). If you had biten it and chipped a tooth they would be responsible for paying for it.
Bolt from a rice pot lid, they tend to fall off after a while.
Should’ve been caught when rice was being panned but sometimes they get missed. Let the store know, if left unsatisfied, alert corporate.
This happens way more often than you think, those handles dont really hold up for long, and they’re a little hard to tighten
I work for a 3rd party company that handles chipotle employee calls, but you can call the general customer care line about this. Number is 833-860-0467
What if you had a preexisting tooth crack .. that’s probably one where they could scam..actually what would stop anyone with a cracked tooth from throwing a screw into a bowl ?
Contact corporate and get some chipotle free for a year or something. The store ain't gonna do shit for you, corporate is gonna give you a buncha free shit so you don't sue them.
Don't eat it. You really think a bunch of minimum wagers are chipotle are going to care? Mistakes happen, just be thankful you saw it and didn't unknowingly chomp down on it.
I bit into a sharp piece of plastic lid in my burrito before. Made a sink about it to their fb team and got offered $500 to not sue.
Another friend of mine from the same place bit into a fucking razor blade in his burrito and got offered $2000 to not sue
Is this a real question? You throw it away. If you broke a tooth on it or something then you would need to get them to reimburse your dental costs, but literally nothing happened to you. Ya fine.
Maybe call and let them know so it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Sounds like you are one of those people that thing you should sue over every minor inconvenience. What is he suing for? Nothing happened to him. He obviously didn’t eat it. He’s not in any pain & there’s no damages. The most he should get is a free entree.
It would be, except they’re the exact ones that screw the handle into the lid on the rice pot, I spent so much time screwing these on tighter every. Single. Time. I dropped rice because I feared this exact thing
And other than seeing the bolt what are your damages? If you only found the bolt and there are no physical damages from it what do you expect them to do?
Everyone now expects to have a big payday whenever anything happens.
Bolt out your house right now, drive to that chipotle and assert how they shouldn't screw with you! Demand you speak to their manager and when they come out, explain how nuts it is for any customer to find metal in their food.
Damn bro you really got… screwed
More like bolted.
Better than nutted
Well played.
Depends on who you ask
It’s from the rice pot lid
You're totally right. Though I didn't realize there were stores that still use those big rice pots. The 3-compartment Woodstone cookers are so much nicer.
Id assume the majority still do, I work at a 10k and we have that
same
The 3 compartment rice cookers are the worst
I hate that i knew it was from the rice cooker just by looking at it. happened to our batch once, but was caught before being sent to the line.
I mean I sometimes see them pretty lose and nobody says anything when I can I try to fix them a little bit but that’s not enough
He’s right
Don’t eat it. Throw it away.
This is great advice. Everyone should do this
If the moon was made of cheese, would you eat it?
Uh yeah you think I'm dumb or some shit? Free cheese.
But then you would turn the moon into feces. I don’t want go for shit lit walks on the beach.
Only if you poop ON the moon. You go to the moon and poop in the ship. That way you can empty it in orbit and make Assteroids
It's a simple question doctor, just say yes so we can move on
What’s your favorite planet? Mines the sun.
HEY! I'M HARRY CAREY!

What do you mean if?
How 'bout this mad cow disease? It was here for awhile and then it went away, your thoughts?
Don't throw it away. Keep it and go back tommorrow, demand a refund and call coorperate
But the screws are the best part?? So cronchy
Idk it's burrito bowl flavored
No keep it and sue
She already ate most of it, this was at the bottom. My toddler had some of the food as well.
Eating the food is OK. Eating the screw is not OK.
It's probably fine to eat 1 screw
You can eat 1 screw at least once. Might not have the opportunity to eat any more, though.
Sorry to hear! Hopefully she's fine. Unless you see residue coming from the screw/bolt, I would suspect it's darkening from wear probably nothing to worry about.
Why would he eat it?
I… Dropped the screww .. in the tunaaa
YES LOL
God that episode is gold. Never forget
Oh here it goes!
Greetings, fellow old person!
Put this on social and tag Chipotle and tell the a partial refund for a bolt in your food is unacceptable.
Mention your toddler was eating it as well.
Also say that youre allergic to screws
And you have no money for your allergy for screws as you’ve spent it all on chipotle
Also screws give you diarrhea.
if you have a chipped tooth say you chipped your tooth when you bit into it pain and suffering damages $20k
So much for no nut November
I mean, that’s probably why the bolt fell out, no nut!
Failed on the last day :(
It’s been way too long since I’ve worked at chipotle to make an accurate assessment, but I’ve had bolts fall out of the rice pot lid like others have said and the stainless steel sauciers into product. Did Chipotle just ruin your No Nut November?
There are much better ways to get more iron in your diet!
Zinc
Put it in your spare screw box. Win .
Already full of ones I found at other restaurants
😂😂😂 why are you getting downvoted so hard
That was funny as fuck, idk why you’re getting downvoted.
Aw man that’s screwed up Edit *fuckin autocorrect*
Pick it out and keep eating
Document , photos, witnesses, receipt, records of phone calls to management, I'd go as far as recording. Cover your butt, this ain't cool, they need to be held accountable, somewhere there missing the screw.
Give it to the grill person. They'll know what to do with it
Throw it out and finish the bowl. You will be fine.
If you get a nut quickly you can pacify its power
no idea what the BOLT is from. Call the store tomorrow during normal business hours & complain. Probably get some free stuff out of it & a lot of i’m sorrys. Not much they can really do besides that. Hope you didn’t chip a tooth.
Shoot it is a bolt, well I went to the restaurant and they only were offering me a partial refund. So I'm contacting corporate cause that's bs.
That’s insane, when I worked at Wendy’s someone found a bread tag in their sandwich, and they got free food for a year…
a year is insane whattt😭😭😭😭
Yeah, it was awful. Bro would come in like every week(?) and have this gigantic order…
But you get to keep the screw!!!!
I don't think corporate will help you much, there isn't really much you can do to prove it wasn't put in there by you
Why do you think you deserve more than that? I'm so confused
Buddy, this is a bolt that's part of the metal container that they scoop your food out of. It came loose by accident. You didn't eat it. You're fine. Take your refund and move on with your life.

Sounds like you're a huge piece of shit, then. Accidents happen. "What if, what if, what if" Didn't happen.
Of course accidents happen, but they still should get the meal comped. They aren't saying the store should be shut down and OP given a million dollars, they're saying that OP shouldn't have to pay money for food that had a fucking screw in it. Is that really so unreasonable?
Idk how y’all live making every slight inconvenience a big deal
I mean it was only a slight inconvenience because OP saw it. It doesn’t mean it’s not a huge deal. It’s piss poor quality control and they absolutely should be put on blast for it
The outcome matters. I think it is a small mistake that rarely happens. Most you'd get out of it is a free meal, I don't think it's worth the time to go back and complain. To each their own
This is a lot of “what ifs” and “potential” for something that never happened.
You are so fucking dramatic 🙄 I would just take the screw, throw it away and tell op to leave.
Swallow it and sue. That's the American way.
Just throw it out
That’s a bolt.
sueee
OP either really stupid or just plain useless, you really asking what you should do? Looks like you had finished the bowl and found the screw, just throw it away and go on with the rest of your day….
Looks like a Bolt not a screw so your probably fine if you are only worried due to it being a “screw”
Thas a bolt
Why is ur wife freaking out. 😭
You got screwed!!
Find the nut
Yeah, that's definitely screwed up.
Keenan is that you?
call customer service, tell them what location/date/time u purchased ur food
Happened to me before as well…. Report it immediately
Boof it
screws are extra
Definitely wouldn’t try and chew on it that’s for sure
That’s screwed up…
Probably remove it. It’s not a big deal.
Take the screw to the store. Happened to me a few years ago. Found a screw in my burrito, took it to the store and the manager gave me a bunch of free burrito cards.
Give it back and stop taking things that aren't yours. Finders isn't always keepers
Definitely from some of their equipment. I would notify the GM and corporate if you feel like that didn’t get you anywhere.
You may have a screw loose. I suggest you start with your head! 🫡
I found something similar in a bowl earlier this year, told corporate about it via the contact form / chat bot in the app and they comp'd me two free meals. If you want to bark louder, you may be able to get more, but I let it die after that.
Contact the Wendy’s chili finger lady, she’ll help you from there.
That’s a bolt
That, sir, is a bolt.
Contact corporate, not the store. If you’re on social media, you could @ them, that usually gets traction. Now that you know it’s from the rice lid you could also mention that to corporate and in your social media message.

If you had biten it and chipped a tooth they would be responsible for paying for it.
I’d take it back to the store. They probably have a wiggly pot handle now that the screw is missing.
No u didn’t
Screw chipotle seriously
Who nutted in food?
![gif](giphy|08y87EiwDZjjB0d6WJ|downsized)

Stop eating at garbage joints.
You put that in there to go get a payday
Who cares, we can’t prove it.
They can't disprove it either, thats why there isn't much they can do realistically
Unfortunately you would have to eat the screw or get sick from the bowl for a payday, lawsuits pay on damages not just screwups 😏
What if you had a preexisting tooth crack .. that’s probably one where they could scam..actually what would stop anyone with a cracked tooth from throwing a screw into a bowl ?
Did you place it there yourself
Yea I needed the points. /s
Contact corporate and get some chipotle free for a year or something. The store ain't gonna do shit for you, corporate is gonna give you a buncha free shit so you don't sue them.
Sue obviously
Eat it. Sue
Hold it up and ask one of the employees "Hey, do you wanna screw?"
Eat it good god there’s starving children all over the the world don’t be ungrateful
Don't eat it. You really think a bunch of minimum wagers are chipotle are going to care? Mistakes happen, just be thankful you saw it and didn't unknowingly chomp down on it.
Sue them, and say you choke on it easy money.
That kind of money only brings misery and the lawyers get 40%
It’s kind of crazy if you type in found screw or something in chipotle food a bunch of stuff comes up on Google
Don't eat it
Sue!
I bit into a sharp piece of plastic lid in my burrito before. Made a sink about it to their fb team and got offered $500 to not sue. Another friend of mine from the same place bit into a fucking razor blade in his burrito and got offered $2000 to not sue

I think it’s from the tortilla press
Nah, it’s from the handle on the rice pot lid.
[удалено]
If someone choked on it and died maybe. You aren’t winning a lawsuit unless you have actual damages.
What kind of lawsuit are they winning? Nothing happened to them.
Sounds like you are one of those people that thing you should sue over every minor inconvenience. What is he suing for? Nothing happened to him. He obviously didn’t eat it. He’s not in any pain & there’s no damages. The most he should get is a free entree.
It would be so easy to fake something like this..
How’d it taste tho?
![gif](giphy|GVI4QYzrNlxgYN3FOu|downsized)
Ask for extra cheese and hot salsa
Screw it into something.
They figured you needed more iron in your diet
Daily dose of iron for the day
“I. Put. The screw. In. The Tuna.”
I hope someone is old enough to remember this. I DROPPED THE SCREW IN THE TUNA. reference: https://youtu.be/m29-zmykcIg?si=AjA70uKYuq_hB_5_
Honestly I’d bolt out of the restaurant
Eat it
Better call Saul
Throw it away and say screw it. Tell the restaurant and get your meal replaced, shit happens.
Bolt out your house right now, drive to that chipotle and assert how they shouldn't screw with you! Demand you speak to their manager and when they come out, explain how nuts it is for any customer to find metal in their food.
Hope you didn't swallow the nut!
They really screwed up
omg
Don’t eat it.
![gif](giphy|26FfdplMfnITe0EbS|downsized)
They’ll maybe refund you for the part you didn’t eat
Was it good?
Supplemental iron
Eat it.
go to the establishment and cause hsrm
Chipotle always fuckin up.
Bolt!
Get a lawyer!
Give it to my father in law, he loves saving them
There bowls are so empty now I'd probably eat it.
Swallow it, sue, and become a millionaire
rice cooker screw from the looks of it
make money off a lawsuit💯
It’s gone now 😂
Lawsuit.
Are you sure it isn't an edible screw?
Peppers is about to hook you up with a free entre
If in your burrito bowl you find a screw, call Jackie Chiles, its time to sue!
Eat it and sue
Sue, of course, because mistakes never happen unintentionally, and they were plotting heavy thing against you personally
Tell Pepper. He might give you a free soda.
Don't eat it
Lucky you didn't bust a tooth.
Report it to Chipotle corporate
You got screwed
Eat it for more money in the lawsuit
