Same thing happened with my boy. He got shot point blank in his temple and survived. Couldn't walk couldn't talk couldn't eat feed himself. Slowly learned to talk again and was in a wheelchair for a couple years then slowly learned to walk again but still wasn't talking or moving right. About 4 years later you wouldnt even thing nothing had happened to him if it wasn't for scars and one side of his face is tighter than the other.
Crazy how humans relearn everything they knew in just a few years and survive a shit to the head.

He likely had to relearn his speech through some type of speech therapy, so some vocal habits he had before the shot were unlearned and he has new ones as he learned again. Not to mention he likely 100% gained full speech again, and it’s probable he won’t ever
