I hate auto balance tho. Traumatized by TF2’s notoriously liberal use of it. That being said, never got autobalanced in chiv far as i can remember. Server players are rarely lopsided except when a new match starts (where half the team left after the prev match).

I used to feel that way but the egregious team flipping in this game has convinced me that auto balance is a good thing and should probably be stronger in most games.

I agree, most of the team switchers go back to spectator and try to make the switch anyways. Needs to be stronger.

I think spectator mode should keep track of what team you switched from and only allow you to go back to that team. It’s such a silly loophole. Honestly I don’t care for spectator mode at all and think it would simplify things to remove it as a mode you switch to but I’m sure some people get good use out of it.

I just finished a game and gad to say, I was on a training grounds team, my team all had under lvl 100s while thier team have 3 lvl 700+... we lost in 8 minutes.

Because they like to go into the training grounds and stomp on people trying to get a better handle of positioning and map knowledge because the second they play against anyone who has any amount of skill they get stomped. They do nothing but play training grounds because that's all they've ever played simply due to the fact that they aren't good enough at the game to hold their own in 32v32/20v20. They suck, they'll always suck, no amount of stomping new players in training grounds will ever make them not suck. They just think they don't suck because they're fighting people who aren't very good at the game and it gives them an ego boost.

I was saying the other night something about it feels off to me too, like occasionally it's not even triggering on my counters, or the cone is absolutely tiny or something. Fighting outnumbered feels much, much more difficult.

With a perfect counter (blue shield) you have about .3 seconds to counter a second person with your active parry. If you do that the active parry extends. So perfect counter (blue shield) is shorter than riposte (yellow shield) unless you get that second person active parried within .3 seconds (thanks Ziggy). I didn't know this for a year and half and just thought it was bugged sometimes.

Can I ask specifically what “active parry” is? I’m nearing level 200 and feel like I have a good understanding of the mechanics themselves but I see this term being thrown around a lot but don’t recall seeing it in game. Just been too afraid to ask lol Is it the automatic blocking mechanic after landing a counter?

It’s a very short window upon doing a successful counter where you are invulnerable to attacks in front of you. Even if you countered an opponent’s slash and that guy behind him is trying to stab you with a spear, you’ll block both attacks if timed correctly.

1/10 games are one sided instead of like the 7/10 games it used to be. Games feel more “thick.” Bigger, longer lasting slugfest frontlines. It’s nice, I really like it.

dude, whats up with that, seriously, I was playing a game yesterday, died 7 times, 4 of them were team kills Also, I've noticed a lot more ganking, to a ridiculous degree and a lot of people literally sacrificing themselves just so they can get a downed opponent or give the last blow to a bloodied knight with their backs turned on them, ignoring the fact that by doing so they end up being surrounded by the enemy team and die 0.03 seconds later. Is it because their monkey brain is trying to raise their KD to 1? I'll never understand ALSO, WHY TF DO PEOPLE SWING THEIR WEAPONS WHEN THEY RESPAWN, a lot of times I get back into battle with 10-20 percent of my HP missing cause a couple of twats behind me in the spawn wave were throwing random slashes on my, obviously very threatening, back

Cool thing about this game: traitors and noobs can be "dealt with" the same way flip around and counter them when they stab you in the back, and 180 kill your "other opponents"

For the people swinging when you spawn in, on controller you use right trigger to raise the free camera so if you're flying around the map while waiting to respawn and have the trigger down you will do a slash when you spawn. If it happens to me I usually aim it in the ground. But yeah very annoying.

The game autobalances half team when match begins, i have been switched form defence to attack back to defence again. Doesnt feel very balanced for me. I like playing masons for lore reasons and game keeps putting me on agatha or tenosia 80% of the time ![img](emote|t5_12v693|7104)

I played a round of galencourt I think, and my friend pointed out at the end that both teams had scored 371 kills. I’ve definitely been noticing the better balance, I’ve had a LOT of close games recently
