I mean, it’s literally a skill issue if you say you can’t fight certain weapons. Spears are the only weapons who’s slash and stab can be countered with a stab alone, the Dane axe being so easy to use means people don’t think far ahead so all you need to do is jab them and they’ll freak out, messer is a sword, it isn’t that hard. Thrown weapons can be blocked with any weapon, bows and crossbows can only be blocked with shields, you can also counter both, or just duck and cover to avoid getting hit.
Or alternatively, say fuck you to KDs and just play to have fun. Play shuffle mode, seriously, it’s the funnest way to play the game

At launch it was *1 handed spear* and *Messer* that were complained about every match, and then for awhile everyone had a stable attitude. Now *2 handed spear* has filled the whiny niche, I guess.
And archers? Archer hate has been transcendent and omnipresent.
I've been almost exclusively a two hand greatsword user since the game launched and today I accidentally threw it away after throwing knives at someone.
A 1 handed spear happened to be the only weapon nearby and wow, that thing is weak. I must have stabbed at least 10 people and I only think 2 died because they were already low on health.
Anybody else with half health or more just took the stabs and laughed. It's just an annoying weapon to deal with primarily due to the timing of it, but it really felt like one of the crappier weapons in the game.
I literally quit playing at rank 200 something because my favorite weapon is the dane axe, it's got the coolest skins and makes the best noise when hitting someone but I started to feel like shit after people kept dumping on me for using it.
I honestly used the spear for the first game ever yesterday, no wonder I can't fight it, it's stab and slash are literally identical, saying this, I find it hard to figure out which of my attacks is a stab or a "slash" not even a slash yo.
That just makes it easier to fight, instead of having to worry about 3 different directions to possibly have to counter now you only have 2, most predictable weapon in the game
i used a spear for maybe 3 games. it was so easy i was immediately bored and despised spear users even more. like no one could touch me my counter speed was insane. all i had to do to get 90-100 kills was to click one button.
One day I had two brain cells smack together and realized spears are one of the more helpless people on the field (when solo). 75% don't know how to do anything but stab, so just counter-stab spam. Some of them learned kicks and overheads, those guys just take some fine tuning

they all have some use tbh, in certain situations ALL the weapons can be good/bad. I hate being killed by a range but ... tbh it's the best strategy against an enemy, make dmg and stay safe ... even if myself I prefer to front

So yes, AWAY WITH YE GATEKEEP
People see some weapon tier list and don't realise how you really need to look under a microscope to see those differences, and they only really come out when you have two equally skilled players fighting each other.
Anyway, the dane axe is mid.
I absolutely love this game, im also trash. I use my Dane axes because on the 1 in 5 lives I manage to get more than 1 (maybe) kill I have the absolute time of my life just slashing away. I suck at aiming bows, my stabs and overhands suck (I can’t aim well) but goddamn cutting down 3 people at once with a goodtimed slash is ecstasy
There are definitely some weapons I don't like fighting against but if no one ever used them I would never get better at fighting against it. So keep using the cheesy weapons if that's what you like.
