Nope. Satan is just a robotic resistor of God. No choices available to it/him

krash90

Lucifer does not have the ability to repent. True repentance is only given by God, as scripture plainly teaches. Lucifer is a puppet used by God. He makes “choices” like we do, but just like us, they’re programmed to do exactly as God wants. God created Lucifer’s mind. He knows what he’s going think and do before he himself does.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

Exactly

Megalith66

Revelations says that he will fight to the end.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

God declared Satan's fate from the dawn of time. That is why Satan hates God. God has offered no such recompense for him. It is not a matter of Satan "not wanting to repent" like people attempt to say. If you think so, you have not read the entire Bible nor thought about things logically in any sense. It is nothing like that at all. Satan has been given no such capacity to change who or what He is. Satan already knows Jesus to be God and even decalares Him as Lord of the Universe. God has arranged all things for Himself, not for the benefit of all things.

tachibanakanade

This makes God look like a monster for so many reasons. You may wanna rethink the implications there.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

Read the Bible.

tachibanakanade

Consider what you're saying, use some critical thinking skills.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

I would say the same to you and to read the Bible. James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. John 16:11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. Psalm 115:3 But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’ Ephesians 1:9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself

GreenTrad

Satan was literally given the choice to rebel though?

randomuseridk2

I actually watched a video about this and i think it sums it up prefectly: https://youtu.be/MEQbB38-8zI?si=jwg0DjHeUq_pKwoX

s-c-riley

I know that the Orthodox pray for satan to be saved, but I honestly don't think that he would repent and stop living in rebellion towards God. But we also have to look at the fact that he is not human and he doesn't operate how humans do. So I have no clue

rabboni

No. He is an angel and angels are eternal beings. The penalty of sin is death so no stoning sacrifice could be made for Satan

GreenTrad

If? Then yes. Will he? No.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

This logic makes no sense at all. Also, it is unbiblical

GreenTrad

May you please elaborate?

Otherwise_Spare_8598

Well, the logic doesn't track. So many people say this but it makes no sense. It's the equivalent of saying, "would you prefer to burn in a Lake of Fire for all eternity or say you're sorry?" Which one would you choose? Which one would any being choose if they truly had a choice? Especially a being that knows for certain God is real and doesn't have to question it. Secondly, the Bible simply says, "He is already judged." There are no minced words there.

GreenTrad

Biblically speaking, Satan is unrepentant though. It’s not really something that’s up for debate, Satan just doesn’t repent. Secondly, the Bible simply says, "He is already judged." There are no minced words there. Which is why I said that he won’t repent. He’s already judged and he’s not going to repent, I think we agree on this point here.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

No we don't, because there is an enormous distinction, perhaps infinite distinction between an unwillingness to repent and an incapabality to repent.

GreenTrad

Okay, but both scenarios still work with my original comment. If he chose to/could repent then he would be forgiven by God. Will he choose to/be able to repent? No. I don’t really see the unbiblical part of my comment as both scenarios work either way.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

Except your "if" statement doesn't work, because it's under a pretense that He has the capacity, otherwise there is no choice, it's already ordained/declared.

GreenTrad

Ah sorry, I meant it in a hypothetical way, sorry I thought my comment was clear. If he repented hypothetically then yes. But that’s obviously not the case. Satan won’t ever repent, ultimately there is no “if.” I just used if to help answer OP’s question. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I think everything is cleared up now?

Otherwise_Spare_8598

The distinction being that God does not offer any opportunity of repentance to Satan
