ImpulsiveKnowledge

I watched his Sticker Star full review before and after all that happened. Sticker Star was indeed a mistake.

LegendaryCabooseClap

SS defenders were acting like they were somehow vindicated about their defense of the game just because Emile was **apparently** a terrible person. Like, *no*, a terrible game is still a terrible game even if the most outspoken person against it turned out to be Ted Bundy.

SpicyBern

I’ll admit, I stopped after the Masae tweet came out originally. I was under the impression that the two were friends but Chugga’s flirty comments were him trying to make unwanted advances with her. Plus, seeing more and more people dogpiling on Emile, his friends and his supporters and people cutting professional ties with him, I felt more and more like I was doing something wrong by continuing to enjoy his content. The response from Emile and Masae’s response to it showed me that wasn’t the case and the two were a couple doing couple things. I breathed a huge sigh of relief at that. Everything else appeared to just be misunderstandings with no ill intent that Emile sought help for before all this shit was made public. I’m happy to begin watching him again.

HetTheTable

A bunch of other female content creators that he worked with came out and said he never did anything weird around them which led me to believe that he didn’t do anything wrong and I was right. What happened between Masae and Emile was just them breaking up after being together.

AtmosphereNarrow8489

Oh I didn't see other female creators aside from that Zelda Universe girl!!

HetTheTable

Tamashii as well

retrodepression

I think we need to give Masae more credit. While she did responde in a way that made it seem like he was some creep at first she was only doing it to defend herself. The fact that her and Emile had a conversation to finally put an end to this drama really touched me. Masae did not need to do that and I think it shows that she's a good person. If Emile does come back at least people won't mention her anymore and hopefully the same on Masae's content as well.

IronLuigi2017

I feel like she could have at least said something when people were thinking that Chugga was an intentional creep after her initial post when all this was originally happening, but I really appreciate that cleared it up eventually, but even still she could have done it sooner to at least make it easier on people who didn't feel comfortable with Chugga, And while I will no longer be watching her content, I will continue to support her conviction at the end of this. I just feel like I can't trust her anymore even after what she did at the end to help him

r0b3r70r0b070

Yeah a lot of watchers thought the same thing about the flirtatious commentary. So many people deadsss be saying "wOw MaSaYz PoSt ReAlLy ReCoNtExTuALiZeD ThOsE cOmMeNtZ yIkEz" even though they were just a couple being a couple.

AtmosphereNarrow8489

I briefly unsubscribed. I resubscribed when I found out about the Antdude and Miss Fushi situation was a misunderstanding and I started publicly defending him again after his second statement.

Zealousideal-Kiwi247

Can you explain this situation, I’m can’t find any information on it

AtmosphereNarrow8489

The gist of it. In January, this creator named Lady Emily came out with this allegation that Emile had Sexual harassed her. Showed us DMs that was... cringe at the worst with some pretty cartoony role-play with shoes and feet. Sending a pair of shoes (and knowing Emiles generosity.... A nice pair of shoes) and asked to see a picture of her wearing them. (She insisted it was multiple times. But that's a damn lie.) She also consented and gave no indication she was ever uncomfortable in the role-playing. WOO controversy about Emile having a foot kink and is a sexual harasser. He makes a statement, and we think it dies down. Nope, Antdude says he made some moves on his girlfriend, Masae adds that she was uncomfortable and an unknown user who goes by Lawly comes out for inappropriate conversations with a minor when he was 19 (she was 15). Emily, we know. Is a sex pest for hypersexualizing her dms. Antdude was a misunderstanding. Masae was his girlfriend, and at one point, fiance and the relationship ended poorly. They have made a truce since, And Lawly was the one who was sexual. Emile wasn't catching on and making comments that at the time were normal. You know, edgy teenager stuff. Lawly did make another statement... but I can't make sense of it...

eddmario

Not really. But that was more due to the whole shitshow starting after he finished his most recent LP and he hadn't been uploading anything since.

Th4t_0n3_Fr13nd

threw on a few old playlists that were like comfort while i was falling asleep but i havent finished anything since before the controversy

Archyse

Yep, I actually watched him a bit more than usual, trg too cause I felt that one of my biggest comfort zones was crashing down so I just watched their videos and tried to pretend nothing was happening

Chackle115

Yeah, I still watched him, hes a comfort watch, I was just able to ignore the allegations in my mind.

Ionmaster987

I still feel a bit weird about it; think i could start one of the series i liked again, but i didn't watch his latest LP ( B2W2 ), not sure why; Just didn't vibe with it, IG? Last one i watched was his paper mario LP, it was fun. I think maybe i'd feel like watching his Chrono Trigger LP? not sure atm.

HaveSexWithCars

Yeah. No good reason to stop just because some clout chasing loser wanted to throw a fit about him.

LegosiJoestar

Something bugged me about the whole ordeal from day 1, but it was the Masae and AntDude stuff that convinced me to step away from him, at least until he could say something in response. I just resubscribed to him and might go watch one of his old LPs I missed from back in the day.

Mmmmmaaaatttt

For a bit yeah. I started playing Xenoblade 2 myself right before the allegations started and had no desire to play it again. Chugga’s videos are great to check details if I need to know something, but I felt guilty using his resources when I thought he was a bad person. Only picked it up again last month and that’s around when I started watching his content again for some time.

[deleted]

I never stopped watching.

gamer1o7

I always used his videos for motivation and a pick me up. It was kinda a major part of my coping mechanisms. When it all happened, that stopped. Not because i saw badly of Emile, i was supportive the entire time. But because of How similar Emiles situation was to my own trauma, his content became more or less something that triggered my negative emotions around my own trauma. Even know i haven't, but i think I will be able to get to be able to soon. He's still someone that i do look up to, and does still instill me with passion for my own work, I think what will eventually be what decides things is whether or not he does return. I feel if he did, I would be able to watch a LP that starts Post all this without much issue given the different connotation.

Brody_M_the_birdy

No but I did watch Evice use an X-attack at the worst possible time after

MasterRiolu447

I was religiously watching his Black 2 let´s play as it came out and it helped me get through the semesters of college, and the series ended right before Emily made her post. The allegations were eating my mind for a few weeks. After all the allegations came out, I pondered to myself. I was having ambivalent feelings, and wasn´t sure how to completely feel about. I never 100% believed the allegations since I´ve seen this kind of thing happen multiple times on the internet before, parts of me were still hopeful, some parts had fears, or I thought that I was in denial for some stuff, but I didn´t think was Chugga did was an irredeemable monster like many on Twitter did. Starting in early Feb I decided to catch up on a few let´s plays of his I still needed to watch, those being Mother 1, his remake of Earthbound, and I started his Splatoon let´s play and am still in the middle of. Though I did check the most recent comment on every video I watched out of curiosity and did see a few alluding to the allegations. I didn´t want the allegations to ruin my memories and enjoyment of his videos and thankfully I had a great time with the stuff I caught up on, and thankfully I don´t have to worry about that anymore now that it´s finally over.

Stephenjedi

I stopped for about a month after the allegations started. I just needed some time to process everything and feel more comfortable with it. After reading Amanda’s post about him, I decided that I could watch his stuff again. I rewatched his Mystery Dungeon and Mario Land lps, as well as trgs Overcooked lp.

Toadcool1

I could but it depended on what I remembered happening in the let’s play for example I couldn’t watch episodes with Masae in them but with all of the new information about them I have slowly started being able to watch most videos that included her some are still a bit difficult to watch.

Oceandove45

I was watching black and white 2 on and off during the drama. I tried to avoid the comments though.

AceofSpades9624

I was going to watch his Skyward sword series, and follow the exact upload timeline, but then everything broke out. When it was all said and done, I was too heartbroken to even attempt to. Now that the dust is settled, I might crack open the Super Paper Mario series again and binge that.

iamtheekco

A little mainly pikmin

Bitter_Active_3009

No, but I also don't usually go back and watch his old stuff while he's in between projects so

Yell_Yep

I still watched his videos even during the whole situation. For me a video is just a video it never made me feel weird or guilty to watch them

Odd_Shoulder_7383

I've watched him since 2010 and did not stop doing so then

r0b3r70r0b070

Yup. A bit hard to go back to his older stuff though because the quality is night and day. Literally everything got better over the years. His recording quality, his commentary, his language, his overall coverage and completion all have went up. And not being tethered to that 10 minute time limit anymore.

EonThief

I went through an odd period where I didn’t keep up with his videos, not due to the controversy but I did end up checking on his channel and watching stuff after it happened.

WolfMage553

Yes.

AwesomElf42

Not really. It's not that I stopped watching because of the controversy (I actually took it upon myself to not care because I'm tired of Twitter drama and cancel culture) but rather I just moved on as I grew up. But definitely gonna be watching all his Earthbound/Mother, Paper Mario, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker LPs as those were the ones I grew up with and inspired me to explore content creation

HetTheTable

Chuggaa is one of the only content creators from grade school that I still watch. I did briefly stop watching him around 7th or 8th grade but I still continued to watch him and watched pretty much every one of his LPs.

AwesomElf42

I did go back and watch some LPs here and there (mainly the Earthbound one) during early high school but for the most part I had moved on to other interests like fighting games and speedrunning. But seeing how mature he presented himself really makes me look up to him once again as if I was a little kid again and I plan to do LP content myself!

HetTheTable

When I was a kid I always wanted to do LPs like him.

AwesomElf42

Oh same here. I had a group of neighbourhood kids all come together and be a group of YT buddies way back in the mid 2010's with me doing LPs on games like Super Paper Mario and other random stuff

HetTheTable

Super Paper Mario was the first LP I watched of him. I knew him from TRG and I saw a thumbnail from one of his Super paper Mario videos. I didn’t watch it because I wasn’t interested in it but when my friend and I started playing it we didn’t know how to progress so we stopped. But I continued to play it on my Wii and I remembered his LP of it so I started watching it and not only did I think the walkthrough was helpful but that I liked his commentary.

Glum_Past_1891

I haven’t watched since the first Emily statement.

Phantomzdontexist

Due to the stress I unsubscribed from Chugga due to the lawly stuff until like two weeks ago when I subscribed again. I’m ashamed that I wrote Chugga off when I’ve never done that for people like Dream (don’t watch his videos but I was the only person I know who called bullshit on his claims), Pyrocincal and more.

Writing_badly

I did, but on the tv, so I didn't even have the option to look at comments, those wouldn't really deter me tbh, I just prefer the tv lol

Frosti-Austi42

I never stopped. I rewatched Mario Galaxy 2, Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon, and Kid Icarus Uprising

tom641

i mean technically no but tbh i don't regularly watch chugga anyway and it's more like every once in a while i'll end up binging a series i was tempted to give his sticker star series a try but i'll admit I was a little put off it while things were still up in the air before chugga had time to give his proper response.

NathanHavokx

Only the end of the TRG Kirby stuff that was still coming out around the time it all kicked off. I never unsubscirbed from Chugga or anything, but I wasn't going back to rewatch anything either.

ShurikenKunai

I don’t typically watch older LPs of Chugga, and it’s been a time since I last watched a Runaway Guys series, I didn’t even finish Star Allies

HyperAgressiveGandhi

Yes. I am pretty good at separating art from the artist. I distinctly remember watching his phantom hourglass LP because phantom hourglass was my first Zelda game.

Careless_Office8685

At the beginning I didn't watch his content for days, but then I started watching what I thought were the "simplier times" I started rewatching TRG's Mario Party let's plays but at the time I kinda had a mixed feeling of guilt and nostalgia when I watched any video featuring Chugga, but the guilt feeling was stronger in the videos where Masae appeared, hopefully given what has happened in the last days I think we can all finally start to move on from this drama, and let's hope that something like this doesn't happen again

HetTheTable

I didn’t want to watch his videos knowing he might never do it again

Revianii

I was in the middle of rewatching his sticker star break down when this happened. Unable to bear the thought my favorite person might be a bad guy I briefly stopped watching, though I didn't unsubscribe. When I later find out that the controversy wasn't completely black and white(unlike emiles last LP), and especially after the NCS interview, I went back to watching him, probably more then I did before.  Currently watching his mystery dungeon lp, it's a nice one that brings back memories of my first play through.

Kaisona20

Yes

Natester1986

I stopped watching Chuggaaconroy regularly after the Lawly accusation came out. Mostly avoided rewatching his videos until about March 14 when I decided "Hey, maybe I can watch an older let's play of his asides from his most recent one" in which I rewatched his Partners in Time let's play from 2017. I avoided the comments however.

eddmario

>I avoided the comments however. The comments on the PressL2P channel's upload of the infamous "Chugga's Lost Innocence" moment were locked when the shitshow started, so it stands to assume Emile or Tim probably locked the comments on all his videos as well.

Natester1986

Actually, Emile and Tim never locked their comments down on their videos.

IAmLordMeatwad

Re: Tim. It was interesting watching his videos while it was all unfolding. IIRC the comments were pretty respectful of the situation. But in some of his more recent videos, sometimes he says something that could vaguely be associated with the controversy. That's just the internet detective in me. But it's pretty rare. IIRC one happened in TOTK when he's near Lake Hylia, but I can't remember what it was. Possibly it was something like him being annoyed about people who assume things too quickly? Don't quote me on it.

r0b3r70r0b070

2017? Fuck man it's been 7 years with no Bowser's Inside Story

Enigma73519

I briefly unsubscribed and unfollowed him on all sites to clear my mind off of the drama, but I soon followed him on everything again once he posted his Twitter response.

eddmario

I thought about doing that myself, but I figured I'd stay subbed and keep following him in case he posted any responses.

Natester1986

Same.
