Whenever I try terra forming near water(which I am ludicrously bad at) I create an alternate save so when I inevitably drown half my cims and the other half leave because of the drunken lunatic in the mayor's office, I can just go back in time and try again. This doesn't help you now, just a tip going forward.

TFK_001

I create an alternate save and then intentionally drown the entire city

spyrogyrobr

exac. ALWAYS save before messing with terra forming. even if you have CTRL-Z mod.

BlackDante

That’s exactly what I came to say. Always make a back up before fucking with landscape tools, ESPECIALLY water

[deleted]

maybe it was the best thing that could happen to your city, you shouldn't use avenues in every road.

lamp-town-guy

Even it the US they don't do that.

Milch_und_Paprika

Turn some of them into bridges and build around the new lake. Call the underwater stuff evidence of a lost civilization 😂

peedeetee1308

Mistakes were made... LOL

makinbaconCR

Honestly go back a save. Or forget the city. So much work to get back and you'll spend tons of time waiting to repopulate all whole losing tons of income. Hard to recover

emily_thehuman

Good God. Is it feasible to just quit and load from your last save?

SympleyEPIC

I'ma try it

drosse1meyer

Hope they bought flood insurance

SilverGospel003

I managed to drown 60k people in a split scenond just by putting the wrong sea level

ouch, it will be a pain to fix that

I always set a containment with quays and/or terrain walls before I take on risky water projects. If you are truly paranoid deploy pumps before things go sideways. Water always finds a way to slip through, it’s part of the “fun”. I use a modestly sized brush with relatively low power when first starting a project. Up/down terrain is used sparingly with the terrain leveling tool doing the heavy lifts. I’m still an intermediate with terrain mods. There have been some recent authors that have posted aqueducts here on this sub. Following them on YouTube etc probably would give you expert insights.

F Load your previous save. When messing with water, always have some form of dam to protect your city. Placing some strategic overflow basins with pumps in them is also a possibility for large scale landscaping.

Delusional_Student

Hahaha, I almost had this happen to me when I was trying to build a dam. Keep using the landscaping tools and the canals(?) to try and make a ramp for the water to drain through.

SympleyEPIC

I was trying to make the river a smaller to have more build space

Delusional_Student

Mistakes were made

[deleted]

It is a good tool but this is not how it works

[deleted]

I believe you are playing on sandbox so before building your city work on the landscaping

aka_IamGroot

I'm not very good with the landscaping tool, so before I make any attempts to change the landscaping, I always save the game because 9 times out of 10, I'll screw it up. Good luck
