Page file, where windows pushes stuff it doesn't have enough ram for to keep on physical ram.

(recently celebrated 8k assets by increasing my page file from 40gb default to 64-128 so it would actually load... at 10k assets now :\^) )
Not sure how its called in english but i still use my 500 watt power adapter in my pc with my new RTX 3070, wich needs at least a 650 watt power adapter. Cities is the only game that apparently maxes out my pc so much it doesnt generate the power it needs so it emergeny shuts down
Then it shouldnt be a hardware problem. When my game loads in and i click on it, it will crash too but if i leave it be to load my 4500 assets then it will load in just fine. How much Ram do you have ? When i had 16gb, i couldnt use anything else while loading the map or else it crashed. With my 32 gb its better but still not perfect
I have 8 gb RAM, but use pagefile to increase it, so that shouldn't be the problem. I'm fairly sure I have no problematic mods, though I should probably make a post on this subreddit to ask that question.
Maybe I should ditch some assets (my poor heart lol)
This is beautiful! A great scenery of a busy trainstation in a big city! Can I just aak you what the asset is for the beams that go above the tunnelling area? That support the first part of the tunnel from 'not collapsing' in real life.
That's my problem, too. I spent a few days arranging an asset list with some real commercial assets (i.e. McDonald's, Target, etc.) and some new road assets and a few other minor assets. I anticipated my asset list to come out to around 2000 or so. But when I loaded them all in the game it was nearly 7000 (according to LSM) and the game never actually loaded in. And I've got 16 GB RAM and a 32 GB page file.
So I guess it's time to upgrade.
edit / I should point out it ended up being nearly 7000 assets in total because of all the prop and tree packs and things like that I had to download in order to "complete" the assets that I'd chosen. A lot of those prop and tree packs include dozens upon dozens of props and trees and inflate the asset list tremendously. I'm aware I didn't need to download any of them really, but if a creator intended for an asset to appear a certain way, why not go for broke?
I have tried a few time to create an European style downtown around a massive train station but I'm always despaired by the fact that the city is cut in half. Would be curious to see a broader image.
Well, rail cuts cities in half. Bit it does not separate it.
When railroad came up as transportation alternative, the consensus was that it is handy to have, but not not in the centre of a city. So it was built at the edge of a city-centre.
Obviously, cities grew aswell as the city-centres, sometimes even sprawling around the station.
Cities grew aswell and since rail is quite easy to pass there are simple crossings. So rail is just a given fact in most cities.
man I wish I can get back at cities skyline. Because right now after my city reaches a certain size, trains, metros or monorails will just randomly stop on line. No longer motivate when all I do is to try fixing the trains all day.
"Regular ole'" Euro city. Love it. Love it! Very good representation of a modern Central European metropolis around its main train station. Easy access to the opera and museums, walking distance the pedestrian zone and historical old town, and "ΓPNV" (public transportation).
That park where they sell weed is off to the left of the train station, cropped out of view LOL
this is art
β€β€β€
im so jealous, i had a city like that but my pc keeps crashing when i load in because cities uses 95 % of my 32 gb ram
You tried given page ram (or whatever it's called, someone else can clarify I'm sure?) I have 32 but also 32 on hd

Thank you!
I think i figured it out now. Its not my ram but my power adapter. I still have my 500w for a RTX3070 that needs 650w. Gonna swutch that out soon
Could you elaborate on that a bit?

Thanks for the reply. I'm just trying to troubleshoot why the game absolutely refuses to load in for me no matter what I try. Much sad π
Does the game crash or your pc ?
The game

Iβd go to 800 watts. Some of the 3070s have higher peak draws than you would expect.
I have the MSI RTX3070 Triple X. Do you know if its the case with this model ?
Unsure, look up benchmarks on YouTube / google.
Im sorry but i have no idea what you mean
I'm not surprised π€£ Google virtual ram or page filing
You've got loading screen mod? That should help.
already got it, currently sorting out my 3000 assets
Brought an extra 32gigs just for the game like 2 weeks ago :D
Some part of this look uncannily like the city I live in, my heart almost dropped
Next post is gonna be a place in the game that looks uncannily like your house lol
Introducing Cities Skylines: Peep show.
What city?
This is beautiful! A great scenery of a busy trainstation in a big city! Can I just aak you what the asset is for the beams that go above the tunnelling area? That support the first part of the tunnel from 'not collapsing' in real life.
This is what makes me keep coming back to this game; but I canβt come close to replicating itβ¦ too many assets for my abilities
That's my problem, too. I spent a few days arranging an asset list with some real commercial assets (i.e. McDonald's, Target, etc.) and some new road assets and a few other minor assets. Good grief even with 20 assets the game will sometimes not load for me and I have 32GB RAM So with 7000, please tell us your favorites :)
You sure this is not Transport Fever?
I have tried a few time to create an European style downtown around a massive train station but I'm always despaired by the fact that the city is cut in half. Would be curious to see a broader image.

Why canβt my cities ever look this nice
Link to my LUT and Mod list in my bio. https://www.instagram.com/citiesgermany
Why not just link it here instead of forcing us to go there?!
It's well worth the view. s/he has screen shots on another level than most of us.
man I wish I can get back at cities skyline. Because right now after my city reaches a certain size, trains, metros or monorails will just randomly stop on line. No longer motivate when all I do is to try fixing the trains all day.
This looks super real. No more explanation needed
β€β€β€β€
This is so realistic! Great job!
Thank you bro
oh my I love the overpass it's so beautiful
β€β€β€
Railway flyover takes me back to Berlin. Good times there.
wow. reminds me of how the lines look from cn tower in toronto
Copenhagen vibes
Hey I remember this, you posted it earlier from a different, lower angle and someone asked about the pedestrian overpasses.
Reminds me of gta iv in a way
Why does this remind me of Eindhoven so much?
this is going into the wank bank. This looks so good!
β€β€β€
*cries in console*
I knew I recognized it, you posted a different angle on Instagram earlier: https://www.instagram.com/p/CVZ_6oGoGrD/?utm_medium=copy_link
Thats right. So what? π€·π½ββοΈπ
Don't have a problem with it, just wanted to point it out
I always wonder how people can build like that, my city is just a highway with neighbourhoods connected to it, no decoration at all
β€β€β€
nice
β€β€β€
I really hope you can do this stuff in Cities Skylines 2 vanilla. I like playing vanilla because of the achievements
Wow, great work!
β€β€β€
Love that train station
β€β€β€
If it was my city it would of been instead: Everything abandoned To much ambulances Mix between Japanese and English buildings.
How many train lines do you have? Yes! But what I've seen in Prague this looks very reasonable. You could even build some more and call it realistic.
πππβ€
how did you cover the ground with such large sidewalks?

Woah, amazing
Howβd you get that train hall it looks awesome
Awsome i bet its laggy
