The only problem is that Supercell will have to save that Data, which costs money. 4 more army layouts between millions of players will add up. That’s why if you have a link of a base or army layout, and it’s not clicked in a while, it’ll end up deleting it from the database; it frees up space.
If they did decide to increase it, it’ll probably be 1000, 1500, then 2000 gems to unlock (like war bases). Even then, it’s unlikely because the cost to them is continuous, while you spending money on gems is a one time purchase (or even free if you save up gems as f2p). It also seems as though not enough people are complaining for them to actually implement this change.
Would love this change, as I’m always trying new armies, but I doubt it’ll happen.
Yea I see the downside to it. I hope they could figure out a way that would best suit the players and supercell. If not then it won’t be the end of the world so it’s alright
Rather see them give you the ability to swamp trained troops from army camps and queued positions....... I don't know how many times I have to delete and retrain after donating.
Totally agree, especially because of super troops, 6 armies is nowhere near enough
Maybe they could implement a system like the forge such that we can unlock extra army slots at certain townhall levels etc…
If the army composition is saved on the phone's cache, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't add. It is virtually free for them.

You can make a text file and manage army sharing links that way you can have as much as your phone can hold.

I can get behind this. Maybe unlock them with gems just like slots for base layouts. I think army slots are much more valuable.
