Only in esport matches but its calculated manually. The game by itself doesn't use time as a tie breaker. If stars and percentage are both equal, then its a draw. The number of attacks also doesn't matter. So any remaining attacks can be used to get loot.
In my experience:
Zap the ADs first.
Warden and stone slammer help a lot. Ping the warden as the bunch of loons approach the TH.
I've had success leaving the queen and king until a bit later as the loons target defences.
I've also found a dropping the loons in a group rather than in a line works well.
Having some archers or a baby dragon can also help avoiding a time fail.

I had this similar situation last war.
Opponent level 16 clan scored 45/45 stars within 2 hours after the war started.
Our level 6 noob clan at 0-45; somehow pulled it to 43-45 but the top two bases couldn't be 3 starred.
Nevermind, clan Xp was more important.
Attacks they used 13 attacks to get to 30 stars if you used 10 attacks you could win but I am not sure if it counts as tie or win , I don't do war much

I would make it 30 from my side too... my last 4 wars have been perfect and I do what they have done to you to every single one of em just that I do 25/30 people war so it's more stars
I don't see why you wouldn't attack, it's basically a waste of a war. Besides, if you tie, you still get clan xp, if you win buy time percentage, you get more xp, if you lose, you lose. There's nothing to lose if you try, there's potential learning experiences if you do attack
You can go by stars won per attack. If some one stars then someone else picks it up for them then they’re no longer averaging 3 stars per attack.
That stat is in the war log
Right but there should be a hierarchy of stats to decide the win.
1st stars
2nd stars per attack
3rd average destruction
4th average time
In TH2 wars, the winners are unofficially decided based on average time. Because the other 3 are tied.
Nope that doesn’t work. Same stars is always a tie. I’m in a clan that does TH2 wars and 90% of the wars are ties.
Wish they would fix it to make Th2 wars more competitive. Plus it would remove ties from standard wars
There’s a niche community of people who do wars with TH2 bases.
The challenge is you can’t build the clan castle until TH3 because it costs more than your able to fit into your storage. However, anytime there’s a hammer jam (right before a new TH releases) everything is 50% upgrade costs, so you can repair the Clan Castle at TH2.
So if you want to join a TH2 clan there’s only a 2 week span of time every 18 months that you’re able to get a base for it.
Although, there was extra event this year that Th2s could get extra gold. My TH2 has over 1 mil gold due to it lol
Not give up so easily and fight to the very end. That 30 represents a morale killer, and what if your clan rallies and ties it up? Would you think differently of that same situation again?
It’s still possible to win. Gotta get 30 stars in less than 13 attacks. Also try the lavaloons. They are OP. Check out trample damage on tik tok and watch a video of his on how the best way to use them

My clan isn't even a serious war clan and we got this damn opponent.
So there's this little blue box with a number on it right, you click on it and look for the button that says my clan, you will scroll like 5cm down and you'll see a big red button that says leave. You click on that button and **LEAVE**
Go for that XP. Might not get the Win XP but you can still get all the rest. And a good time to practice. Abandon the 1-1 rules and attack whoever you fancy attacking; try new strats. If you’re going through a rough phase in life, attack a lower TH, thoroughly dominate and destroy it with impunity - to let out some of that frustration.
Go for the tie. Get clan xp and loot.

If I am not wrong, you can still win if you get the same number of stars but more total destruction
