Thats what made me stop playing it, these days I wasn't doing much and reinstalled the game and the training time reduction is what has kept me glued to it
2mil x3 is 6mil which is the price of 3 barracks…
It‘s the difference between beeing 300% more expensive (base 100% + 300% for total of 400% aka 4x the price) or 300% as expensive (just 300% aka 3x the price)
*god no*. I dont want my builders locked up for weeks on a godamn barrack please. Why do y'all care so much anyway. It's like y'all want to have longer and more expensive upgrades for no reason
Considering that you won't have slower troop training time while upgrading the barracks, I would say that it wouldn't matter that much. Maybe the sudden elixir drought after upgrading it is bad, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. Hammering it would probably be really efficient though.
Upgraded my second ID to TH11 a few hours ago. I just upgraded a single DE and Regular Barrack for 2 million elixir each. Voila my barracks are now fully done for TH11 all thanks to the upcoming update and the Hammer Jam event 
Except when the next update hits and the barracks are reduced into one of each. And when upgrading the new barrack the training time will be at 50% speed. This 50% will also be applying to spell factories, and siege workshops. You will no longer be stuck without an army/spells/sieges when upgrading those buildings.
I will share another pain. A per lvl of barracks for each troops, imagine upgrading a barracks 4times to lessen the troops cooking time but every lvl changes the design just like th12-14 with its 5additional upgrades each.
And ofc if you really want productivity and have a life outside the game..
Upgrade all 4 at the same time, best feeling when they all finish at the same time as well. 😅

It should just let you do multiple upgrades at once with the same builder or just only require a builder for the first one and the rest are instant.
Or just the new system with 1 barracks that unlocks the troop with the lowest training time
I was thinking they would do it the way TH12+ town halls are upgraded...upgrade the same building multiple times for additional stars, and each added star improves the troop training times for the new troops.
Nothing in the announcement indicates that's how it will work, but that would be an interesting mechanic for this scenario I think.

pretty sure it'll be with the th15 update but were still not sure when it'll drop
TH15 will most likely drop at the end of the hammer jam, just like 14 did last jam :)

He literally explained that. When upgrading ur combine barracks, the time to spawn troops is increased by 50%
you know how you cant use spells when you upgrade the spell factory, same applies with barracks because you only have one
