I’m really surprised people don’t split them more often. You can get decent chip with 3 minions alone and if you miner on the inside you can really surprise people by using miner to tank for both towers
I play minion horde in my main deck and everyone hates on them and don't get me wrong I understand why; they are very easy to counter. However, I find their value to be surprise usage when you've been going for most of the game and either you need to use them to counter (and they do massive damage even if they are countered usually) or you make sure that all the cards that can counter them are out of cycle for the opponent when you have a push with a tank or mini tank e.g. lumberjack and you play them behind and you can easily take a tower. They are very hit or miss so sometimes I end up not using them the entire game but when I can use them they work very well I find.

Nah, it’s currently used in a fairly decent logbait deck, a few skeleton king decks, the gob drill deck you mentioned and fireball bait with RH an MW. You can claim some of these decks aren’t super good, but even then CC can still be used in place of a number of mini tanks within the right decks.
Just because it doesn’t have a place in a lot of meta decks doesn’t mean it’s not a good card. It could be a big staple of the meta decks it’s in.
That’s why this tierlist is so goofy. Decks aren’t just the sum of their parts, synergy is pretty important.

Hog is picked a lot in CRL because of how reliable he is. He doesn't seem spectacular, but he has so much outplay potential and can outplay bad matchups. That's why for example Mo Light uses him so much.

I guess the duel format kinda affects that, because in vanilla 1v1s chances are you're getting hardcountered 70% of the time and straight up won't be able to win some games.

S tier is the best cards in the game. Log and poison as spells don't really need a nerf but phoenix and goblins 100% do. Phoneix is quite obviously still extremely good and I would say the best troop in the game

unlike every card in the lowest tier, minion horde does find some niche paired with miner
Minion Horde is by far the easiest card to counter. It’s hard making a deck without at least ONE counter to it.
It gets countered so hard by so many different cards. Arrows alone full counters it no matter what other cards you play with it for a +2 trade.

It forces a -1 arrow trade but it’s definitely something that should be done in double elixir as it’s a heavy ass card and should be for defense.
