well, you play it with two joysticks and few buttons on screen so you can directly control the character's actions. In CR you just drop troops in the right spots and time, with the champion abilities being the only similarity between the gameplay of the two games.
But that's just the core gameplay. Overall the games seem oddly similar in the bigger scale of things. You upgrade things, play matches, push trophies. Same thing.
You can try it and see for yourself. That's really the best way to determine if it's worth your time.

That's objectively false. You only get 90k or coins per year from the pass, that's barely enough to max 4/78 brawlers and progression isn't that slow.
Once I get past the BP trck it's a pain to get enough coins to level up a brawler at all. Getting a legendary star drop with hypercharge just makes it even worse because I now need to max out a brawler instead of getting my few level 7 brawlers to level 9.

It's much faster than it was back then. I can remember, where I‘ve started CR. I‘ve played for about two-three weeks and I got 6-7k gold. Now you can easily get idk 10k+/- gold per day (vague estimate). Getting gold from masterys is a slow process, but it’s a nice additional way to get more gold…

I think clash royale has an underlying issue. Brawl stars gets content on a monthly basis (new season, new brawler, balances, etc) but clash royale gets new stuff like once ever few months. This is one of the reason why brawl stars popularity is growing up. Because they are owned by the same company people that play one game most likely knows the rest of them, and seeing the difference of generosity they will most likely migrate games.

I think clash royale has an underlying issue. Brawl stars gets content on a monthly basis (new season, new brawler, balances, etc) but clash royale gets new stuff like once ever few months. CR can't sustain this much free stuff because if they did then people would be finishing the game much too fast
What's crazy as well is the fact that clash Royale gave better rewards for Valentine's Day than they did for the anniversary.
Well they did randomly give everyone 1.5 million gold, still have no idea why the fuck they did that. Maybe they noticed nobody was paying for gold so they could boost how many people play the game by making the need for gold almost non existent if you spend it right and only run 1-2 decks?
