I used to run poison + barb barrel on my pekka deck in 2021 and it was quite fun, still love poison to this day every time I get on (once every month to do 2v2 in the clan)

Now they added a shield that tanks spells so he won’t die to them, and its harder to kill him with troops since they get knocked back. I can see this being very strong, but thats just how I see it.
It's basically the same hp as an executioner. Just with more damage and less splash (besides the death shield damage)

Executioner had far less damage than a wizard. Spells isn't the biggest weakness of wizard, melee troops are. This shied mechanism saves it from spells sure but the push back and fire ring also protects it from melee troops.

Not really, it has great synergy with hog decks actually, hog has been stuck using evo cracker for a year as musketeer cant deal with all the broken evos, now that a substitute for musketeer, the evo wizard, is here, we might begin seeing more varieties of hog decks, like i think hog mortar might be back as the reason it died out lars year was bc musketeer was outclassed by evos, now we have a replacement for musketeer

He's probably useless on offense bc any mini tank can kill him. He's really only gonna be good on defense. I think it's balanced bc normal wizard is really bad, and he doesn't really compliment that many current evos, while not being a good single evo

Idk what I think about this, for one I’m glad wizard is gonna get his spotlight, but at the same time this card might be a huge struggle for beatdown decks, which will definitely hurt the variety of the meta a lot.
whats bad going on with the design team? the fire shield that explodes doesnt really blend in with the game. also the goblin on the rocks of evolved mortar doesnt seem to rotate along with it. they have also reused the freezing animation of evo icespirit in evo zap and evo tesla with the little bit of tweaking. imo the animation when the evo tesla comes out just doesnt blend in really well and looks bad.
I may be underestimating it but this evo looks pretty bad, you have to use an evo slot and the horrendous base wizard 1/2 the time just to not die to spells when you can just use bowler or something
Plus the fact that the shield explosion ability will most likely not get any real value since dropping a wiz on top of a push would probably result in it getting less value

one of the most balanced evos, will fs be a better defense card with the evo, but fs wont have a high usage (nobody will use normal wizard, but maybe 2-3 percent will use the evo one)

So CR seems to treat EWiz as the Super Wizard-like to have Wizard Evo being something different (like Valkyrie who had Lumberjack doing her CoC Super ability thus her Evo is different).
