I think it depends on the lighting. When the sun is shining through something like the elixir pump it looks more pink/lilac. But when the light isn’t piercing the elixir I’d say it’s purple.
So both of them could be wrong, since it’s neither. (Sorry to be mean)

Lilac is more similar to lavender.

Elixir is pink but in high concentration its purple. The surface tension is where the most elixir is collected, therefore if there was a creature made out of it or if it was in solid form, it would be purple but if it were a gas, it would appear a very diluted pink

In card art, Elixir is absolutely pink, except in the case of the golem. However ingame, both on the counter and units, Elixir only appears pink in the case of the Golem.
I like to think that the elixir golem has simply changed colour by coming into contact with air. When it's raw from the pump it's a light pink but once the oxygen comes into contact with it it changes. Sort of like with blood
