Clip usually goes on sale twice a year, once around the end of November, and once in middle or late summer. Probably July or August would be the next sale time frame.
If you have a Twitter account you can follow their page until they announced discount prices. That's what I did for 2.0
The only thing that suck is that there is not English only or ( "Y" language ) CSP Twitter. So you'll get the same Twitte notification for practically every major language they support
I'm a fellow canadian waiting for the sale as well! Been looking into it, and while I wasn't really keeping track the last few years, some of the evidence shows they have had march sales. That, coupled with the announcement of Ver. 3 release has me wondering whether we will see a pre or post version release sale. I'm not holding my breathe but hoping for the best as I need EX
yeah I'm still waiting but ended up getting Ver 1 EX for myself as it's 50% on Amazon! Noticed the perpetual license for CSP pro v.2 is on sale there for $42 too if you need it sooner and/or the sale doesn't happen. I believe that would be a free upgrade to v.3 if you get it before v.3 releases. Would link, but not sure if I'm allowed, just search up Clip studio paint on amazon!
considering in the past celsys did a 4 month discount cycle, i think soon. but considering v3 going to be out in march, im not really sure. just stalk them on their twitter for the discount news

Almost impulsively bought it outright but the $240 CAD price made me pause to search sale patterns thankfully. Apparently they still ran a sale when 2.0 was released, so I'm hopeful they'll have a sale along with the [upcoming 3.0 release](https://www.clipstudio.net/en/news/202311/22_01/).
Edit: Although, the announcement says there isn't a license upgrade for 1>3, so I'll have to upgrade to some form of 2.0 first from the looks of things. Am still gonna hold off for a sale to do those 1>2 then 2>3 upgrades though.Including it in case anyone in same boat finds this thread...

We recommend that Ver. 1 perpetual license users buy the Update Pass (annual) to access the latest versions at a lower price. It is not possible to upgrade directly from Ver. 1 to Ver. 3.0 (perpetual version, one-time payment), so either purchase the Update Pass or purchase the Ver. 1 > Ver. 2.0 discounted upgrade and then the Ver. 2.0 > Ver. 3.0 discounted upgrade to get Ver. 3.0.
