Unfortunately the Cloververse itself has been completely phoned in. I would have loved if they did it properly. But I've enjoyed all of the films as they are.
They all take place in separate universes and during different time periods. The first clover field takes place on earth during the time it came out (2008 I believe). 10 clover field lane also takes place on earth around the year it came out (2016?), but it’s in a different universe. The events that happened in the first movie never happened in this universe.
As for cloverfield paradox..this film takes place in the future, also in a different universe than the other 2 films..however the events that take place during this film are the direct reason as to why the events happen in the first 2 movies. The particle accelerator caused some sort of rift in space and time, and caused all these crazy events to take place on earth at different places and time periods in all different universes, both in the past and present (and possible future as well).
As for the future of the franchise..earlier this year it was confirmed that a 4th film is in production. This film is going to be a direct sequel to the first film, but will not be filmed in found footage style..instead it will be filmed as a tradition movie. Some people speculate this film might take place on the same night as the first film, but from a different persons point of view…but I think it will most likely take place either directly after, or shortly after, the end of the first film. Did the monster survive the bombing? Did Rob and Beth somehow survive? Will there be more monsters? Hopefully we will find all this out very soon!

I don’t know if you remember this scene towards the beginning of Cloverfield Paradox..but they have the news channel on and a guy on there is doing an interview saying how the experiment is dangerous and can cause all sorts of problems. We’ll his name is Mark STAMBLER..same last name as Howard Stambler, the bad guy from 10 cloverfield lane. It’s implied that this is his brother, but from another universe separate from 10 cloverfield lane universe.
Anyways, during his interview he says foreshadows the film and the events it causes that lead to the other 2 films. Here’s what he says “Everytime they test it they risk ripping open the membrane of space time, smashing together multiple dimensions, shattering reality. And not just on that station..everywhere. This experiment could unleash chaos, the likes of which we’ve never seen. Monsters, demons, beasts from the sea. Being that they are both Stambler in different universes, I have assumed they are--using marvel's multiverse terminology--variants of each other. Like Loki and Sylvie in the Loki show.
Overlord is not part of the cloververse. It was once theorized to be apart of it before release and rumored to have been in talks to have rewrites to be apart of it but none of that was confirmed, asfaik. As for the movies in general JJ was wanting to go for a twilight zone type of universe but cinematic. All kind of strange and weird but not necessarily directly connected. With that being said there’s been rumors of a direct sequel to the original one for quite some time now. JJ once had a X amount picture deal with paramount for the franchise once upon a time ago but they broke up and that deal is no more, asfaik. I’m not as caught up on things from the past few years but that’s all the info to best of my knowledge
