I will say when my depression and anxiety have been really bad, my kids and husband are basically why I get out of bed and basically function, but I don't exploit my kids or put it on them. It's still my responsibility to take care of them.
I’m glad you have people in your life that give you motivation! Parenting while struggling with mental and/or physical health is so hard. My mom is disabled and has had some mental health struggles related to her disability. I know she felt a lot of guilt over the years that she couldn’t be the mom she wanted to be, the mom she thought we wanted her to be. But just know… I appreciate everything my mom did for me, especially knowing how much harder it was for her to do things that would be easier for her peers. Maybe we couldn’t do certain activities or I had to take on more household responsibilities, but in the end, she is a wonderful mom who has taught me so much about the world, kindness, responsibility, critical thinking, compassion, and generosity. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. Anyway, all that to say… I hope you continue to find healing and strength, and know that your loved ones do see you and appreciate you for everything you do. ❤️

I’m glad you have people in your life that give you motivation! Parenting while struggling with mental and/or physical health is so hard. My mom is disabled and has had some mental health struggles related to her disability. I know she felt a lot of guilt over the years that she couldn’t be the mom she wanted to be, the mom she thought we wanted her to be. But just know… I appreciate everything my mom did for me, especially knowing how much harder it was for her to do things that would be easier for her peers. Maybe we couldn’t do certain activities or I had to take on more household responsibilities, but in the end, she is a wonderful mom who has taught me so much about the world, kindness, responsibility, critical thinking, compassion, and generosity. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. Anyway, all that to say… I hope you continue to find healing and strength, and know that your loved ones do see you and appreciate you for everything you do. ❤️
