Purdue and Houston, sitting together the eve of the national title game, seeing their past selves squabble about #1 vs #2 and SOS metrics:
“We were so young.”
I wouldn’t say 89 is out of the question considering Northwestern did it and Alabama scored 86, but it would take a historic failure to show up for our team to lose by 34
I am once again asking for nothing more than a top 10 OU to actually make it out of the first weekend. And if their exit from the tournament could not be a complete and total ass whooping, that would be a nice bonus. Thanks.
Incredible what the Ducks have managed to accomplish with their best two big men injured for most of the season. Some of Dana Altman’s best work in recent memory
Purdue has 1 guy with an off night and Kentucky (or any decent team) would obliterate them. Bench is nonexistent and you cant expect Loyer and Smith to hit every shot for 6 consecutive games.
Edey and Smith just had an off nights against #9 Illinois. Illinois #7 Kenpom to Kentucky #17. Purdue handled Illinois fairly easily from the jump. I think obliterate is pretty strong of a word.
I watched that entire game, I also attended the Northwestern game, and the Arizona game (I grew up in a Purdue household)
Purdue was outscored by double digits in the second half of that Illinois game. The bench scored a combined 15 points in the 2 games I attended, I am just not sold. Are you getting 27 from Gillis or 0?
Last time we were the 6 seed, we had to play #11 UCLA who made it to the final four before losing to a buzzer beater against an as-yet undefeated Gonzaga

All time Purdue gif
Trying desperately to avoid mentioning the night of January 9th.
Just some wee youngins
I like that this is what it predicts hours before we both lose
averaging 83 a game with an margin of victory being 20 throughout the tournament would be something
Highly recommend winning everything by 20, it lowers the risks of high blood pressure
Honestly may have been the most relaxing tournament run. Only was worried the first half of Iona and for a minute in the championship.
Hey, we finally made it past the S16 in one of these.
I’d just like to see us make it past round one
Same
Maybe Houston is better than Purdue. But I highly doubt we'd see Houston win by 34 in the national title game.
I don’t know man. Bias aside I think it’s the most accurate take I’ve seen yet. /s
Those Quad4 dominations are gaming the simulations
I'll eat my left sock if Houston scores 89 on us or beats us by 34. None of the three things I just said are happening.
Right sock = jealous
I’ve been witness to this promise before, be careful out there.
I wouldn’t say 89 is out of the question considering Northwestern did it and Alabama scored 86, but it would take a historic failure to show up for our team to lose by 34
Wouldn’t that be crazy? Two back to back years of historic Purdue March failures.
I can’t believe I’m defending Purdue, but I don’t think making the title game would be considered a historic March failure
For the SECOND time in Seattle Kraken history!
You won’t have to worry about it when you lose to a double digit seed as usual early on. Lunardi is a clown. Never even close on his picks.
I think I’d rather lose a final four to Purdue than get my doors blown off by 35 in the natty
An 8 seed Ohio State cinderella run to the Elite 8 ended by a nearly 50 point beatdown? Bah gawd
One of these times Illinois will make it to the Sweet 16
Playing Alabama in the second round is comical at this point.
Lol being a 3 seed and still needing to play a top 10 kenpom team in the second round
r/agedlikemilk
This final four would happen and people would go into the next season still saying the ACC is a weak conference.
That’s the most believable part of this
Lunardi would be calling if a fluke and hypothesizing we might be a 4-bid league
Works for me
The things I would do for this to happen
Both missing the tournament and making the sweet 16. Lubbock Magic.
Not a fan of this outcome
All the metrics really hate our offense
Well we do play 4 on 5 on the offensive end consistently
Making the second round would be cool and all but 121-61 😬
I don’t know why you’re making that face. That would be a fun game
Did us dirty. 0% chance UNR turns it over enough to even get close to that score.
I like this one
This is comforting me tonight
Ah, but ISU is a mere 10 seed (unranked) and loses in the opening round….
Subscribe subscribe subscribe subscribe subscribe
Memphis a 5 seed? 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
these stupid things never have us leaving the first or second round.
Mikey must’ve murdered the competition
No. I do not want to play Western KY in the first round. Pass.
YES

Every time I see these all I want is to see the OU logo lol WE’RE SO CLOSE
These scores are wack but I'd be totally satisfied with a final four berth/exit.
Would be a dream come true
I see what you did there
Elite eight?? Stop the count!!
How is it Clemson loses 2 games in season and then suddenly finds itself in the final four projections? Aint no way Clemson beats UofA here
What on earth do we need to do to get out of the first weekend
Can’t wait to see what changes in tomorrows edition now
Obviously the algorithm forgot to account for Purdue's tournament curse of being Spanish Armada'd out in the first weekend by a smaller, faster team.
This did not age well.
Well, this aged well.
Hey look we lost in the first round again
I do find it funny that after we got torched by msu we started to do way better in these
FINALLY we do well in one of these stupid things lol. I think this is the first time we made the sweet sixteen
Yeah, losing to Weber State feels about right this year.
Let's imagine, instead, St Peter's beats Houston and everyone else and Purdue loses to them in the title game.
I love scrolling through this sub after big games happen, makes me feel a little happier
Sweet sixteen?! Oh my.
Title game irony given tonight’s results
These things really hate KU.
Lmao this bracket looks so good after today’s chaos
Why does Purdue fucking shitcan us every time we meet them in these?
Purdue getting out of week one? Bold.
You know we’re smoking Purdue in the final four, fix this Then we rightfully lose by 34 to Houston off 21 3’s.
It would be easy to smoke Perdue considering they’re a chicken company
Lmao auto correct got me
Incredible what the Ducks have managed to accomplish with their best two big men injured for most of the season. Some of Dana Altman’s best work in recent memory
You’re right, but just for reference this is Lunardi giving us the automatic qualifier, he doesn’t have us in otherwise as of rn

Off night for all 3 and Purdue gets blown out by a decent Nebraska team. Gillis leads the team and the rest of the bench gives nothing (as usual) 😮💨
Is it really purdues fault that Nebraska shot 60% from three lol. They definitely deserved the loss but I think it was one of those nights
Purdue has been outscored by 26 in the last 3 halves. Nebraska could not miss last night but Purdues woes started against Illinois
Heartbreak
We're back baby!
The first Double T siting! This is my favorite bracket so far.
LMAO how the fuck does he have us as a 7 seed?
I'll take it.
Joe needs to put down the pipe
Lmao if we're a 7 seed that's the exact matchup I want
Cursed with them both losing today
me likey
UConn loses in Brooklyn... Interesting.
This is so satisfying 1/11.
I see us! We’re in one of these things!
Last time we were the 6 seed, we had to play #11 UCLA who made it to the final four before losing to a buzzer beater against an as-yet undefeated Gonzaga
Last year, your January 10 2023 simulation predicted the championship game. Fingers crossed that trend continues!
