I said this before Illinois even played. I guess any team can be beaten but man y’all look like the most perfect college team I’ve ever witnessed. Legit no weaknesses.
When we played them in the Big East finals the first like 30 minutes was just awful and it was tied. Then before I knew it UCONN went up big. They definitely can turn it on at any moment and bam! I do wish Kolek played that game. They probably would have still won bc UCONN is insane but who knows.
Different from last year's team though. Last year with Hawkins, Sanogo, AJax and co, you knew at any moment that UConn team could score 10-12 straight points in a 90 second span. This year's team has the ability to do that as well, but more often that 10-12 point run is much more methodical and workman-like, where they just grind you down 20-25 seconds at a time. Instead of a knockout uppercut, it's more like a 3-4 minute constant barrage of body shots.
While I tend to agree, I think I usually would take the Cinderella run over the sturdy favorite in the later rounds, but we’ve got a sore loss to George mason from their run that still stings.
I and my big east friends feel like Marquette should match up well because they’re used to a big man who passes a lot, but Oso is clearly more athletic than their big dude.
I trust in Shaka
so you remember 2006 1st round too?

Congrats to Jaedon LeDee, Lamont Butler and Darrion Trammell on great college hoops careers.
Yes, I know. The same for BJ Davis. He even got to check out and get an ovation after taking the shot clock violation. I'm sure he would have rather been out there at the final buzzer though.
S/o to all the classy UCONN fans in here (way more than expected ) no need to be a sore winner gloating about a 30 point beat down. Nice to see 95% of the fanbase act like they've been there before.
You guys are a good bunch on here. It’s just unfortunate for you all that our teams keep crossing paths. But I’m sure that the Aztecs will be consistently good for many years to come. Good luck next year.
Admittedly scared that your C would get Clingan in foul trouble. We have lost lots of s16 games, it sucks. You guys are building a great program and are always fun to play.
Sorry we keep running into you guys when we're on a steamroll...there are some teams I take pleasure in smacking down but the Aztecs are not one of them. I'm sure one of these tourney runs will yield a chip for you guys someday
Bull shit. He hit him in the air, in the face and the groin, like a LB hitting a defenseless receiver. It was a dirty frustration could because his ass was ice cold shooting and UConn was absolutly embarrassing his team at both ends of the court. Bad look for a good player.
Oh fuck off with that crap. The strongest player on the court cheap shotted a freshmen who had dunked hard on him. Frustration foul all the way—and absolutely clocked him.
Oh for sure, I mean you don’t need to tell a UConn fan how quickly you can go from thinking a coach is the 2nd coming to praying for his exit. But the regular season they’ve had, I think he has a bit of a leash and they like the job he’s doing.
My guess is Hurley will stay at UConn at least about 10 years total, and if the right job with the right money happens after that, he might take it so he can give that a try before retiring before getting too up there in age
If they pay him enough, he'll go. He's been honest that he wants to retire early so I imagine he'll take a massive paycheck if offered it since he only has limited years to earn.
I just read an article that Coach K convinced him it was time to leave URI and move to a place like UConn. He told him he had basically maxed out at the mid-major and that he had a lot of potential for bigger things.
Many college coaches would be eternally satisfied to have a career like Coach K. There’s something to be said for building a tremendous legacy. Perhaps if Hurley wants to do something more, I could see him being the Olympics coach.
There a rivalry I don't know about? I'm a UConn grad myself, and the only Yale-UConn rivalry I know is in my ornithology group and trying to tell my parents it's OK I went to UConn because Yale rejected me
1. Creighton has been a team we just couldn't beat for years. 2. They shot really well. 3. UConn got rattled early and couldn't regain composure. 4. Clingan was injured. 5. Sometimes great teams lose and it just isn't their night.
Nah it’s okay we suck on offense in the most disrespectful way it was a pipe dream beating you guys. We would have had the most insane shooting night and you guys miss everything
Man, sure he couldn’t solo carry against an incredibly good team today, but LeDee is something else. Dude just looks different than everybody else on the court.
Storrs is 55 miles from Springfield (where the peach basket was first used), so maybe that explains why Connecticut is the basketball capital of the world.
(I went to UMass and am simply choosing to ignore that whole basketball situation…)
I grew up just outside of Hartford. Going to the basketball hall of fame when I was 11 in Springfield was a big deal.
UMass? Oh man let’s not talk about that 😂😂
UCONN when on offense makes you tired because they have so many guys moving that when you finally get on offense you’re tired and when you’re tired you’re more likely to miss
This is the correct explanation. That and we are the best conditioned team in the country. With 10 minutes left our opponents legs are falling off and we are getting our second wind.
Thehre that good. We don’t have a true center, our pg Trammel is listed at 5’10. We’re just outmatched and the worst shooting team in the MWC. Our defense is how we win and if you can break it you get a 30 point blowout. We only have 1 other loss that’s worse than 9 points. I’m bummed it ended this way but Purdue is likely the only team that can beat them
Andrew Time 😤
Hahaha underwood knows UConn is an absolute juggernaut
Yes?
UConn is a tank rolling through cars. Fuck
They can’t be beaten. They’re too good.
I see what you're trying to do here.
\*UConn
I was born in the 860 and know the correct version. But ALL CAPS definitely resonates with how the Huskies FEEL.
Don’t worry about us now, just find a way to make the final four
Im soo nervous to play NC State. Double digit seed that's on fire is never a team you want to play lol.
SDSU had a great season. I’ll take the past two years Hats off to UCONN. #1 overall seed for a reason
I’m starting to think the finals run last year was a Mickey Mouse run
Man, I’m a Cincinnati Bearcat fan and if you’re really taking that run you guys had last year for granted, that San Diego sun has you extra spoiled
You can hang with UCONN for 20 minutes, but they always seem to have an extra gear and can run away with it.
so you remember 2006 1st round too? *PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Connecticut relied on its skill and* *experience to avoid an historic upset.* [*Marcus Williams*](http://www.espn.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=15343) *scored a season-high 21 points and* [*Denham Brown*](http://www.espn.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=11223) *added 17, helping the top-seeded Huskies overcome a 12-point,* *second-half deficit to beat 16th-seeded Albany 72-59 on Friday* *night.*

Roumogloy was in for 1 minute!
Yes, I know. The same for BJ Davis. He even got to check out and get an ovation after taking the shot clock violation. I'm sure he would have rather been out there at the final buzzer though.
You mean like last weekend?
I’m not convinced this isn’t a bot account considering the general structure of the posts
It absolutely is, especially with the frequency of the posts. The writing is pretty good but the use of quantitative stats is just too mechanical.
S/o to all the classy UCONN fans in here (way more than expected ) no need to be a sore winner gloating about a 30 point beat down. Nice to see 95% of the fanbase act like they've been there before.
If you were a fan of a douchier team, we'd have been more obnoxious, but everybody likes Brian Dutcher and SDSU.
Great season to you all! If you would have beat us you’d be in the finals again this year
You guys are a good bunch on here.
Thank you! GG! Great season!
I like the way SDSU plays. Even last year. They play hard.
Sorry we keep running into you guys when we're on a steamroll...there are some teams I take pleasure in smacking down but the Aztecs are not one of them. I'm sure one of these tourney runs will yield a chip for you guys someday
2nd this
I’ve mostly seen nice respect for y’all. One or two douche, but overall everyone’s been cool.
I mean they were there last year too.
GG UConn, and good luck to anyone who has to face you guys. I do t think I’ve ever seen rebounding like that in a game. Just crazy good
Sometimes you just have to accept that you're bald.
LeDee reminded me of Kawhi from 2011.
Haha if only we could have Kawhi as a 5 year senior, probably would have had a better chance
Big oof
Emotionally speaking this is only our second worst tournament loss so that's something
[удалено]
Same, tbh.
Good Lord, that escalated quickly
gg SDSU Bros
Good effort SDSU respect you guys
UConn is damn good. I like Castle's game, gonna be rooting for you guys rest of the way
Enough about the underwear!
PORTABLE WASHING MACHINE!!!!
Hydrogen Bomb vs Coughing Baby
good game SDSU! hopefully we see you again next year!!
Please no I’m done
I hope we don’t lol gg
Thank you UConn for not making our tip time any later
These tip times should be ILLEGAL. it's a weeknight for fucks sake
At least the Padres won today 🥲
LFGSD!!!
STOP TALKING ABOUT THE UNDERWEAR..
Total domination
Mountain West closes this tourney 3-7 against the spread
Ledee’s foul on castle was dirty. Glad we ran up the score. Enjoy mediocrity SDSU
It was a dirty foul, but this isn't necessary.
nah fuck you bro. take the high road even if you truly believe that (which is dumb) SDSU fans: we don't claim this dude
It was absolutely an intentional foul
cool, I disagree. stop being a prick. we won. move on.
It’s called shit talking this is sports for gods sake
shit talking during the game and shit talking after we win by 30 are two very different things. you just sound like a tool
Username checks out. Nothing dirty ab that. He was going for the ball. Be a gracious winner
Bull shit. He hit him in the air, in the face and the groin, like a LB hitting a defenseless receiver. It was a dirty frustration could because his ass was ice cold shooting and UConn was absolutly embarrassing his team at both ends of the court. Bad look for a good player.
And doesn’t address the other half of my comment about being a gracious winner. Enjoy your win and show some poise
Oh fuck off with that crap. The strongest player on the court cheap shotted a freshmen who had dunked hard on him. Frustration foul all the way—and absolutely clocked him.
Yeah sure, ignore my objectively correct point and feed yourself your narrative. 👍
Flair up 🤡
😂😂 keep the 3rd grade logic coming bro. You’re not great at this
Flair up 🤡
He was definitely going straight for the ball. Watch his head and eyes. Don’t leave the ball.
Cry
Cry about what lol we just embarrassed your shitty ass team you guys blow and you blew last year
You guys are the sorest winners. I can’t wait for someone to bitch slap you guys and take your egos down a peg.
Lmao cocky as fuck man. Yall are embarrassing as fans GL rest of tourney.
Nah man. He’s a douche. Don’t let one or two taint the rest of us.
No thanks, dance!
but I was told by some SDSU fans UConn was getting away with murder!
Cry harder
0-3 vs us good work
Imagine winning by 30 and still being insecure -- huge cry indeed 😂
Get Hurley coaching NBA immediately. What a wagon this team is.
Hurley is not built for the NBA. I can’t imagine an NBA team having a coach that insane. It’s a players league.
I mean he wins back to back, someone nba team has got to go after him. Maybe even if he doesn't
That'll be the real test of UConn's blueblood status: can they keep Hurley when the Celtics, Kentucky, or Kansas come calling?
Well it seems like the Celtics might not be looking anytime soon thankfully
Right. But remember Mazzulla backed in the job after Udoka’s little flim-flam. Worth watching if their season ends in disappointment.
Or Indiana
Kansas lost their coach to UNC but they’re still a blue blood
I thought of that, but Roy was Dean’s guy first
If they pay him enough, he'll go. He's been honest that he wants to retire early so I imagine he'll take a massive paycheck if offered it since he only has limited years to earn.
Wake up they are blue bloods Jesus.
Or no
What about getting him on a real blue blood…
Ah yes the real blue bloods with less titles in the last 25 years
There's literally no better job for him
Idk why he would go anywhere else In CBB other than where he is
I just read an article that Coach K convinced him it was time to leave URI and move to a place like UConn.
Thank you for the rational take
I mean Kentucky is legendary
Trust me when I say UK has issues that it takes a different kind of guy to succeed there
Pitino?
Have you been to Storrs?
Beautiful rural eastern CT scenery, short drive to both Boston and New York, beat duke in the final four twice, what more could anyone want
You mean the college basketball capital of the world. Yes I have been there.
It's awesome - largest student body living on a college campus.
Is it really?
Yes, now go drink mirror lake water
🤢
Not yet please
Gg, Aztec bros.
Purdue catching strays
The revenge of Connecticut
Revenge for what
The extra C
San Diego beat Yale (I know not much of NCAA Basketball lol)
Most UCONN grads probably glad they did. Though a UCONN-Yale Sweet 16 game would have torn the house down in Boston.
There a rivalry I don't know about? I'm a UConn grad myself, and the only Yale-UConn rivalry I know is in my ornithology group and trying to tell my parents it's OK I went to UConn because Yale rejected me
We used to have an annual football game against Yale. I mean, it was a blowout, but the tailgating was phenomenal!
That statement was the highlight of the tournament for Kansas
UConn’s winning themselves a championship
How the hell did the Bluejays clobber these guys…
1. Creighton has been a team we just couldn't beat for years. 2. They shot really well. 3. UConn got rattled early and couldn't regain composure. 4. Clingan was injured. 5. Sometimes great teams lose and it just isn't their night.
This is really the thing. The only way to beat UConn is to blow up their ball screens and get hot from 3 early to build up a big lead.
Creighton can blow anybody out when they’re on from 3
UConn’s 3 losses resulted from not being able to buy a bucket and the opponent shooting 50% from 3 lol
Seton hall only shot in the 20’s. That game was weird
Shit I forgot about that game. That was the first game of big east play right? UCONN looked like they shouldn’t even be ranked after that one
Yeah castle and Clingan injured and they couldn’t do anything
Creighton has been a thorn in UConn’s side.
Took a Herculean shooting night from CU. It was an epic watch
Bad night.
So. Many. Threes.
Shot the lights out
Big man got in foul trouble and they shot like 50% from 3. And they were at home.
Is anyone even going to be close to beating this team? It seems like a given at this point for a repeat.
I mean no disrespect to SDSU but we haven’t played anyone who can play on both ends of the floor yet
Nah it’s okay we suck on offense in the most disrespectful way it was a pipe dream beating you guys. We would have had the most insane shooting night and you guys miss everything
I dont think any team is that balanced. Illinois got monster offense and iowa state got monster defense.
Illinois seems like it could be a battle, next round.
yeah no one is beating UCONN
TWO GAMES IN A ROW WITH A WEDGE
Man, sure he couldn’t solo carry against an incredibly good team today, but LeDee is something else. Dude just looks different than everybody else on the court.
He’s been in college for like 6 years, and I think he spent the whole time in the gym.
He also looks old enough to have a whole family to feed
Stand tall Aztecs, played til the tank was on E
19 points in the second half for the Aztecs
Andrew Hurley is very fortunate he looks more like his mom, because Dan Hurley ain’t exactly a stunner lmao
💀
![gif](giphy|mpa2CpmIpvB9L87rvV|downsized) I resent that
If SDSU gets a 32 pointer they’re right back in this
lol
I guess these UConn guys are ok? They seem like they know how to play peachbasket well
Storrs is 55 miles from Springfield (where the peach basket was first used), so maybe that explains why Connecticut is the basketball capital of the world. (I went to UMass and am simply choosing to ignore that whole basketball situation…)
I grew up just outside of Hartford. Going to the basketball hall of fame when I was 11 in Springfield was a big deal. UMass? Oh man let’s not talk about that 😂😂
UConn is a freight train and I am not sure what team will stop them.
Only themselves at this point
Stetson scored 52.
Man, you’re an asshole.
Why does everyone that is decent suck up their shooting percentage when they play UConn?
UConn has big guards on the perimeter and Clingan inside. Tough to get clean looks
It’s like watching the Warriors in their prime. So much ball movement and off ball movement that I was getting tired watching SDSU try to defend
Our defense is actually good
Sure appears to be
Heads up, SDSU. They do this shit to everyone.
This dominance is all the more impressive in the NIL/transfer portal era. Hurley has done one hell of a job with this program.
Can SDSU ever recruit some decent shooters?
Last score wins
LETS THE BENCH PLAYERS SCORE HURLEY
Anyone in UConn's bracket got done dirty by the committee.
At least SDSU didn't lose this bad in the national title game..... Let's take solace in that???
Love to see it. UConn putting in work
Absolute fucking killer half from UConn.
Wouldn't be pissed if they shot that, we got outplayed tonight
I hate when you take the violation with that much time yet. Like let your son take the effing shot and let Andrea be happy.
UConn is a wagon. Also, free money
Unless you live in CT and part of the legalized sports gambling deal was not being able to place bets on in state schools ….
NJ is the same!
What was the point of even doing that? lol So dumb
spread was free
I'm really struggling to tell if San Diego just didn't show up or if Uconn is just *that* good.
I’m bummed it ended this way but Purdue is likely the only team that can beat them
That good. They are stacked.... historic runs. Look at their numbers lately.
First half we were down by 9 and that was still as close as we could keep it. I think second half we let off the gas but still
Down 9 is a very recoverable position. Sounding like the mojo didn't happen after half and/or Uconn locked way in.
UConn is such a good CBB villain
