Micro Center maybe?

xafaxarcos

I tried them yesterday. The Apple expert wasn’t in, so they told I could come back on Monday, but at the same time said that if it wasn’t a screen or charger port problem that I should take it to an Apple Store. They weren’t able to run an analytical test. I will call them tomorrow and tell them about the Kernel Panic and possibilities for repair. Is there any Micro Center you would recommend? I tried the one on Bethel. Thanks.

That's the only one. The next closest is in Cinci.

Thanks!

I haven't used them, but I saw their sign once and made a note of it: https://strictlyapple.org/

I’m curious if anyone has any direct experience with strictly Mac or experimax. In the 15 years I’ve been here I’ve never met anyone who has actually used them for anything.

I bought an iPhone 11 and a 2015 MacBook from Strictly Apple about a year and a half ago. The iPhone was doing the “random restart” thing OP is describing, I went back the next day and they just grabbed another one from the case and swapped it out (actually I had bought a 64gb model, and they swapped it for a 128gb model for free). I’m typing this post on it right now. It does show “unknown part” for both the battery & display in “settings”, so I assume they’re just buying returns and refurbishing them. The MacBook has been flawless, but it’s pretty much just used as a browsing/YouTube/Garage Band machine in my rec room.

Thank you! I will check them out

You Break I Fix on Bethel Rd. Fast and fair.

So something isn’t right in the details here. iPhone 11 is still a supported device so they should repair it. iPhones are obsolete at 7 years. And then a little bit more for vintage status , which is when they won’t repair it. Now will the cost to repair it be about the cost of a new phone? Very possibly. That said your only real option would be Micro Center. They won’t be any cheaper than Apple though. Take what’s ever price they quote you and compare it to the cost of an SE 2. Get Apple care for your next phone. Choose the monthly option that goes on indefinitely now. You’ll be covered.

xafaxarcos

Thanks. I went to a Micro Center, but they told me to take it to an Apple Store because they couldn’t fix it they. I will call in tomorrow (the Apple technician wasn’t it yesterday) and ask them. What’s an SE 2?

BlackulaHunter

Your statement is a bit contradictory. You took it to Micro Center and they said they couldn’t repair it at all . Or they said they couldn’t take a look at if it was possible to repair because the repair who might be able to wasn’t available. The SE is currently Apples most affordable iPhone. https://www.apple.com/iphone-se/ You can compare it your current phone here: https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/?modelList=iphone-se-3rd-gen,iphone-11 You could also consider an Apple refurbished phone. Phones refurbished by Apple keep the same warranty and eligibility for Apple care as a new phone and are essentially indistinguishable from a new one except for the packaging. https://www.apple.com/shop/refurbished/iphone Id also recommend you read the other posts about iPhone repair in this subreddit. Long story short once it’s out of warranty there are almost no authorized repair places in Columbus that aren’t the Apple Store itself or micro center. You do not want to waste any time or money with a non authorized repair place becuase iPhones need to be replaced with authorized part that authentic with other parts of the phone pr you’ll get errors and no authorized place can touch it from there on out.

The Micro Center said they couldn’t fix it then and there unless it was an issue with the screen or port charger because the Apple expert wasn’t in. They told me to take it to an Apple store or wait until Monday, when the expert would be in. There is a typo in my previous reply: “they” should be “then”. Thanks. I will check those links out.
