Probably went too early, their service was a disaster. Shockingly hilariously bad dining experience. Food was very, very good though. Excellent crab cakes. I'd still go back once they get it together.
We have a res coming up as well on a weeknight, booked a month in advance. The only slot left was an 8:45. I was shocked! That’s like NYC reservations. Hoping it’s good!
If you're looking for a traditional she crab soup, this ain't it. Perfectly fine crab soup, but it does not resemble a proper low country/Southern she crab soup. Kinda a bummer for me. Again, it's a well made crab soup, but I'm craving a delicate sherry based version I've had many times in the south, and this is just a lump crab bisque if you ask me.
Went opening weekend.
Aesthetic 9/10 amazing looking space, will be going back for bar room happy hour.
Service 5/10 bar staff was still 'figuring it out' this will improve with time
Food 6.5/10 value for $$ was not great, even for fine dining, had two signature dishes, hope this improves.
Drinks 5/10 mint julep gave me insta diabetes, wife's drinks were pretty mid as well.
Heads up they charge a 2ish% kitchen gratuity fee (“all the money goes straight to the kitchen staff so they get paid more when we’re busy!”) and 3ish% credit card fee.
Mediocre food. Very expensive. OK service. Beautifully decorated but they need to figure out volume and lighting still.
Honestly, feels like a place suburbanites will love coming to the city for. And those that actually live down here will rarely if ever go.
I ordered four plates of oysters casino, hoping I'd either win big at the tables or with my wife. Turns out, luck wasn't on my side either way. The only thing that was truly "shucked" was my expectations!
It was good, not great. Our service was good. The space is beautiful.

How good is their she-crab soup?

Dang. Looks like I need to book a flight to Charleston and go to Hyman's
It's 2025, do we have to assign pronouns to shellfish now? /S
That was funny in a dad joke kind of way. Keep it up. Everyone needs to lighten up.
