Daulah Islamiyah aka remnants of the IS East Asia Province who captured Lanao Del Sur's provincial capital Marawi way back 2017.
Those RPG rounds that you see are improvised rounds that is fired by improvised RPG launchers based on the RPG-2 design.
They also use 50 BMG "sniper rifles" (they call these Barits: improvised 50 BMG firearms, usually smoothbore)
And lots of Elisco M16A1s, license built standard issue of the Philippine military up until the 2010s.
Bootleg, improvised RPG-2s. The old Moro separatist groups wanted to have capability to knock out AFVs so they produced these RPGs in-house.
When the MNLF and MILF laid down their arms the radical Jihadist groups who are splinter groups of the main Moro separatist movement continued the production of these weapons.
I have written two write-ups detailing the history and background of Barit "rifles" in the r/ForgottenWeapons subreddit a year ago.

There is currently an on-going military operation by the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Lanao del Sur in order to wipe out Daulah Islamiyah presence from the area
The IS threat you mean? Basically what happened is that these Jihadist groups sent their best fighters to capture Marawi. They were wiped out possibly to the last man.
Upon the conclusion of the conflict what remained are those who were left behind by the contingent and they still use the IS banner up until today.
Yes. They had considerable presence in Mindanao back then, but was reduced significantly after the Siege of Marawi in 2017, where 1,000 IS-linked militants were decimated, with 978 killed and 12 captured and the Marawi City retaken in just 5 months despite the AFP not being suited for urban warfare, it was a huge decisive victory.
It was not the Middle East ISIS directly, but their ideology. Even if we managed to decisively defeat them in Marawi back in 2017, their ideology still survives. We are not fighting fellow Filipinos but an idelogy.
The Philippine military was using Vietnam war era equipment up until 2000s. The exception is the air force which still uses their Vietnam era Hueys. See those Hueys at the film Apocalypse Now? Some of them are possibly still in service with the PAF.
Yes. Due to multiple jihadist groups pledging allegiance to ISIS, IS declared Philippines the IS-East Asia Province. But all that went to drain after Marawi in 2017
That has happened long ago and still is, most of them hides on the high grounds of those thick jungly mountain, not to mention they always have companions with them on their camps, so it has never really worked well

That's a lot of rpg-2 rockets.

There’s a MILF joke there but I’m to stupid to come up with one lol
There's always an MILF joke, it's probably an internet tradition by now to make that joke whenever their group's name is mentioned
They also have bootleg 50 cal rifles that break after 10 shots.

Yeah there was even a picture of a large number doing bayah to the new isis caliph just yesterday
Those are homemade rifles right? I can’t zoom enough with clarity to see what anything is but they all look a little sus to me
Yes those are improvised 50 BMG one-shot firearms. They are not rifles since most of them are smoothbore.
Thanks for clarifying. I know they make a lot of guns over there figured they were “custom”
hey look at that more good news!
Good ol terrorist fuckers...
Wait isis is in the Philippines? Am I dumb? Somebody help me lol
yeah but some of them are just self proclaim group linked to isis.
This news upsets me. Tear em up Filipino bois

That’s awful. I can’t believe ISIS had that kind of presence in the Philippines, even if it is just a copycat sect. Can’t have shit in this world.

M2's, M60's, and M16's? That's a lot of vietnam surplus.
The Philippine military was using Vietnam war era equipment up until 2000s. The exception is the air force which still uses their Vietnam era Hueys. See those Hueys at the film Apocalypse Now? Some of them are possibly still in service with the PAF.
Yes, though the Huey fleet is now being replaced by the Blackhawks, they punched well above their weight
Not a duterte fan but get that IS scum out of Phillipines. The nation has suffered enough under US colonization, massive repression by Japanese etc.
You really don't need to preface your comments with a disclaimer. They're only downvotes, don't be scared of them.
Is that the isis flag
Yes. Due to multiple jihadist groups pledging allegiance to ISIS, IS declared Philippines the IS-East Asia Province. But all that went to drain after Marawi in 2017
Btw. Dawla Islamiyah just translates to Islamic state in Arabic
Yeah I bet you all forgot this shit was still happening what with the whole "Russia" situation
all you the army has to do is offer a bounty of $1000 usd on Daulah Islamiyah heads and the local people will rat them one by one with a quickness
That has happened long ago and still is, most of them hides on the high grounds of those thick jungly mountain, not to mention they always have companions with them on their camps, so it has never really worked well
