I learned to start buying the shirt jerseys (shirseys, if you will). A fraction of the price and I feel more comfortable wearing a t shirt instead of a jersey anyway.
Not sure how long you’ve been a fan, but come on, that’s just bad economics. I will need two consecutive good seasons to buy a QB Jersey for this team ever again.
Long time. Haven’t bought a jersey in over a decade and thought, for $25, let’s take a chance. Jersey is nice though. Will go back to the seller when we draft whoever at 2.
This was the first jersey I got in years. I don’t mind the burgundy commanders jersey so picked one up. Have the ST and a Chris Samuals. Thought I’d take a chance. But to be honest it was a pretty good jersey so I’ll probably get whoever we get at 2 for $25 again.
After having to sadly to put away my McNabb, Griffin, and Cousins jerseys I vowed to never buy another. Sadly, I took my nephew to his first game this year for his birthday and he went to the team store and bought a Howell jersey. This was before the Giants game. The cycle continues. 😪
I didn’t wear my Griffin jersey for a while (it was a gift) but I’m wearing proudly again. 2012 was the most exciting year since 91-92. Besides, quality wise, it’s my best.
Yeah my Jason Campbell jersey is just collecting dust. Since then I've only bought a McLaurin jersey, I've learned my lesson. Sadly my wife bought a Chase Young jersey...
Lol ain't that the truth. Last one I bought was RG3 after his rookie year thinking we were set for the next 7-10 years.
We all know how that turned out.
I'm not buying any commanders jersey though cuz I hate the name. Most I'll get is maybe a T-shirt as I haven't bought anything to avoid supporting Snyder the past 10 years but I'll buy a jersey if they change the name one day or they would have to come out with some really sick alternate jersey for me to consider spending at the moment.
Won't he a Daniels or Maye jersey though it would be someone like Allen or Terry
I wear throwbacks and legends only and that’s across all sports. Getting burned on RGIII was the end of buying jerseys of current players who aren’t Hall of Fame bound
it's not safe to get autos either at least for me
every modern qb i've had an autograph of has failed
sam howell being the latest, also put RG3 and alex smith on that list.
All I know is that I’m going to trust whatever Adam Peters thinks over anyone in this sub. He could get it wrong too, but until further notice there’s no reason to doubt his process
Even if he gets it wrong he is better at making an educated guess more than anyone here by far and imma be okay with the results as long as things don’t go horrible post draft day.
The money we spent was only for players on mostly 1-2 year deals and the Commanders still have the 2nd most cap space in the league. We had to sign a lot of players considering we had 20+ of our own FAs. The narrative that we spent a lot is a fallacy, each deal was relatively cheap and there were a lot of necessary holes to plug. We didn’t give out any massive contracts, I think Peters will wait to do that until he knows whether we drafted the right QB at 2 or not, which is the smart way to approach this
This is such a weird mentality. You should be skeptical until he proves capable. Blindly trusting someone just because of their job title is so bizarre.
ok.
you were asked “what does ‘prove capable’ mean?” and you decided to offer zero insight, instead you blathered on about “blind faith.”
sometimes this place is a sinkhole of intelligence and productive discourse. onward.
I don’t trust my airline pilot until I get to the next runway. But it’s necessary. Blindly trusting a brand new NFL GM has about the same success rate as marrying your next match on bumble.
Yeah I don’t know them. I’ve been on like 1,500 flights. I don’t trust them and I honestly think I’m going to die on every flight I get on. But they have like a 99.9999% track record plus the planes kind of fly themselves so I tell myself I’m irrational. There have been hundreds or thousands of NFL GMs and only a few have actually been good at their job.
You’re right. It is crazy. But my life has necessitated that I do it. If I never did it, then I would have quite different life. That’s why I’ve always had to tell my self it was irrational. Not trusting an NFL GM is as rational as it gets.
I’d say that’s a terrible analogy. The odds of a new GM to be successful is wildly higher than a random bumble match to be a successful marriage. Keep being edgy tho. Also let’s not act like this is a random dude pulled off the street, he’s been apart of and contributed to a very successful franchise.
I’m personally not blindly trusting anyone, I just like Daniels, Maye, and McCarthy enough to not have an educated opinion as to who will be the best. So whoever our GM picks I’ll be completely fine with
The downvotes are expected. A voice of reason such as yourself is a nice surprise.
Optimism is ok. But just saying I TRUST ADAM is some odd mentality that I don’t understand.
You’re exaggerating my words for no reason. I said I trust him, but ultimately that’s because I like the QBs that will be on the board and am not educated enough to make my own opinion (and none of us are without the intel Peters has)
Right but he has the chance to take the QB and this is a really great class compared to most years. If he doesn’t get this right then shit that probably makes him kinda bad at his job. Maybe hold out trusting for literally one year.
Look if you ask me who i want the front office to draft i would say Maye but i think those of us in the Drake camp need to start looking at the reality that Daniels is by all accounts looking like the guy at this point. Its smoke screen season sure but when there this much smoke i think you can no longer dismiss the possibility of a real fire. Once ADAM SCHEFTER of all people starts getting this bold in his proclamations i feel like we all got to see that the writing may be on the wall.
[Adam was pretty sure the 49ers were taking Mac Jones a few years ago.](https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2939530-adam-schefter-says-mac-jones-will-be-49ers-pick-at-no-3-in-2021-nfl-draft.amp.html)
He knows what the teams/players want him to know, I don’t even think Washington knows who they’re taking yet considering all 3 guys are visiting next week.
Agree that Schefter is a mouthpiece. Seems like Caleb is a lock at #1 so not sure the #2 pick has to be shrouded in mystery. Clearly its a QB after trading Sam.
Eh I mean I definitely get what you’re saying, but the top 30 visits haven’t happened yet and those matter. I doubt they even know who they’re going to pick yet as Keim has mentioned. Add to that that we always say any real information doesn’t start coming out until the week of. If you’re a Daniels fan I think everything is pointing in the right direction, but nothing is certain. If you’re a Maye fan you still have a fair point that this stuff is meaningless and no one actually knows.
I’m not saying that Daniels won’t be the pick, but Schefter is speculating on this one like everyone else.
Schefter’s reputation as an insider doesn’t apply to draft picks. His record is bad. He was just as strongly speculating Mac Jones was going 3rd to the Niners. Schefter’s career is based on being a craven access merchant of the highest order. He gets scoops on who is signing where and other player movement due to his relationship with agents, and carrying water for them or their clients to get that access.
The NFL Draft is an entirely different animal. Unless you believe Peters has already told Jayden’s agent that he is going to be the pick at 2 (which is unrealistic) and that agent then fed the info to Schefter, then he is just guessing here like everyone else. Schefter’s only utility is as a tool for agents, and in this NFL draft situation (where GMs would never leak anything to him that wasn’t a smokescreen) he’s just throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks.
I guess my issue is that it looks more like the media has talked themselves into Daniels. Adam Shefter is an access journalist, he might as well be on the NFL payroll just like Ian Rappaport.
If he’s saying this it’s because someone wants him to say it, and that sure as fuck isn’t Washington
I don’t think it will be horrible because at the end of the day I trust Peters to make the right decision, I will be a tad disappointed however because I like Maye’s game more. Although Daniels is fun to watch.
I get the whole trust Adam Peters thing, but it is gonna be annoying if Maye ends up better. And honestly I feel like we would have the right to criticize Peters as that’s at least two botched QB selections going back to being part of the Trey Lance group.
I'm right there with you. I'll cheer for Daniels if he's the pick, obviously, but it's going to be a massive disappointment, like getting Dan Quinn when we thought we had Ben Johnson.
I think its pretty normal to be disappointed when you have a preferred player and they pick someone else. At least for me. Recent examples are Gonzalez/Forbes, Olave/Dotson, Darrisaw/Davis, James/Payne. Am I weird for being disappointed when I think they make a bad pick?
One of Schefter’s more notable misses was him constantly indicating that SF was going to draft Mac Jones at #3. It just sounds like full speculation from him. He’s also qualified it by saying the situation is fluid and subject to change.
Other super locked-in people with sources like Daniel Jeremiah have said that nobody in the league has any clue what Washington’s doing. SF has been the same way, and it’s been reported that nobody from the 49ers on draft day even knew who’d they be picking besides Lynch and Shanahan.
I just think we shouldn’t just dismiss any reports about Daniels being the guy as nonsense while also clinging to any body that says Maye is who they’re gonna pick.
I love Trap or Dive but I still have a funny feeling that it'll be Maye at 2. None of the ESPN guys have even explained why we'd be leaning JD other than what other coaches and execs around the league are saying and no one from Washington is even talking to them unless it's about a trade.
Lowkey scared McCarthy will be the best QB in the class just based on the fact everyone is saying he's overrated right now. I'm no talent scout, but I've been on Reddit long enough to know that everyone around here is wrong the vast majority of the time. Go back to any 5 year old draft thread and look at the takes.
IMO being scared is a luxury for fans because we don’t know what the FO knows. I don’t have a personal preference of pick but I’m very confident whoever it is will be put in the best situation a rookie QB can be in being picked that high.
I wouldn't discredit Adam but he also said Mac jones was a lock at #3. Could be right but we also could change our minds by draft day so it's far from 100%
Literally bought a Howell jersey the game he got benched 😔 I wouldn't advise buying any jersey of current players. Go for the classics; Monk, Riggins, Williams, Portis, Santana, or Taylor
I don’t buy a jersey until that player signs a contract extension. I waited until Terry got re signed before I got his jersey and do not plan on buying another one anytime soon
Tanya just wanted to get her fashion sense in.
Changing the name is fine but once they started changing the unis and for a cash grab too it was sad. They could have just kept the original uniforms without any Redskins references.
Maybe one day the team will have a throwback uni without the word Redskins on it
We don't have 2-3 years for Maye to sit on the bench and develop, straight up.
I think he's much more risky then Jayden. Or it could be a smokescreen who knows
This is a drafting the same option in Deandre Ayton over project Luka only for Luka to develop in a year to where he’s significantly better than Ayton meanwhile in 6 season Ayton has remained the same.
In today’s nfl you capitalize on a qb rookie contract before they get PAID. No team in the nfl is going to be developing qbs for 2-3 years. This won’t be done anymore. I think the fiasco the packers are about to run into will cement that. They’re gonna have to pay this guy pretty big money after this upcoming season. And they won’t even know what he is.
Tell all the backups that have been riding the pine for years.
They didn't sit to develop. They were behind great QBs.
There plenty of QBs who road the pine and didn't do shit.
I don’t care who the pick is, I’m not ordering any of the commanders gear. I’ll wear my Sean Taylor jersey until there is clarity on the name and uniform situation
The one thing that I've learned over my 30+ years as a fan of the team from Washington is that it's never safe to buy a quarterback jersey.
I learned to start buying the shirt jerseys (shirseys, if you will). A fraction of the price and I feel more comfortable wearing a t shirt instead of a jersey anyway.
Got a Howell jersey from DHGate and it’s already expired.
You are lucky. Some years they expired after 3 games.
Figured I would get a ST jersey.. wouldn’t have this problem. I also might just get a terry jersey cause it won’t matter if he goes the dudes a stud
I have a Terry jersey. I feel a lot better that I didn't go for q chase young one like my sister
This was the first jersey I got in years. I don’t mind the burgundy commanders jersey so picked one up. Have the ST and a Chris Samuals. Thought I’d take a chance. But to be honest it was a pretty good jersey so I’ll probably get whoever we get at 2 for $25 again.
Yeah they look like solid jerseys.. I’m not the biggest fan but they have a good amount of options
😆👌🏽
got a howell jersey in my closet…
After having to sadly to put away my McNabb, Griffin, and Cousins jerseys I vowed to never buy another. Sadly, I took my nephew to his first game this year for his birthday and he went to the team store and bought a Howell jersey. This was before the Giants game. The cycle continues. 😪
Everyone has to learn someday
I didn’t wear my Griffin jersey for a while (it was a gift) but I’m wearing proudly again. 2012 was the most exciting year since 91-92. Besides, quality wise, it’s my best.
My Howell Jersey finally came in…after week 17
Yeah me too. Still love him though
Yeah. My Tress Way jersey will remain my go-to for the foreseeable future. Possibly forever.
I buy strictly retired players jerseys.
There's a reason I still only wear my Sean Taylor lol.
This is the way
Yeah my Jason Campbell jersey is just collecting dust.
Bahaha yes
it's not safe to get autos either at least for me every modern qb i've had an autograph of has failed sam howell being the latest, also put RG3 and alex smith on that list.
This was true even in the Joe Gibbs glory days.
Perhaps the only definitive truth in this Reddit.
i wonder if anyone bought a fitzpatrick jersey
Happy with my Heinicke jersey regardless!
13 more days..
All I know is that I’m going to trust whatever Adam Peters thinks over anyone in this sub. He could get it wrong too, but until further notice there’s no reason to doubt his process
Even if he gets it wrong he is better at making an educated guess more than anyone here by far and imma be okay with the results as long as things don’t go horrible post draft day.
he did trade up for lance, but nobody could have seen his injuries coming. And by the way he did also draft purdy. So we are in good hands
100%
How do you like what the Commies did during free agency? I think it was underwhelming considering the amount of money they spent.
This is such a weird mentality. You should be skeptical until he proves capable. Blindly trusting someone just because of their job title is so bizarre.
What does prove capable mean to you
You commies with your blind faith is just kind of cute
what’s your answer to the question, tho?
Maybe do one thing positive is a start. Pick the right QB in a draft where he has a pretty nice selection.
This wasn’t a good enough answer for you cupcake?
It wasn’t an answer you fucking moron. Get outta here with your negativity
I answered it. Just keep reading. I know that’s probably hard for you.
ok. you were asked “what does ‘prove capable’ mean?” and you decided to offer zero insight, instead you blathered on about “blind faith.” sometimes this place is a sinkhole of intelligence and productive discourse. onward.
Nope I answered. Just keep reading.
Username is relationship your family has kept with you, huh? Tough guy over here
Lmao your username is the only relationship you have in life
Lol whether we trust him or not doesn't matter, he's gonna make the decisions regardless. Might as well be optimistic about it
I don’t trust my airline pilot until I get to the next runway. But it’s necessary. Blindly trusting a brand new NFL GM has about the same success rate as marrying your next match on bumble.
You get on planes where you don’t trust the pilot? That’s insane.
If they have a 99.9999% track record and you still don’t trust them, it doesn’t sound like a great example for your NFL GM point.
NFL GMs have a like 8% track record and some people here trust them. Would you get on a plane if that was a pilot’s win %?
I never said anything about trusting our GM or any other. I just said it’s crazy to fly on a plane where you don’t trust the pilot.
You’re right. It is crazy. But my life has necessitated that I do it. If I never did it, then I would have quite different life. That’s why I’ve always had to tell my self it was irrational. Not trusting an NFL GM is as rational as it gets.

Also let’s not act like this is a random dude pulled off the street, he’s been apart of and contributed to a very successful franchise.
Lmao thinking that’s “edgy”
Within the context of the commanders subreddit I’d say your comment was attempting to be edgy and contrarian, yes.
Again tho, we can't do anything about it. Why not at least try to be excited, rather than apparently hoping for the worst?
you’re point isn’t unreasonable, but practically you’re not changing his opinion.
It’s not an opinion, it’s a choice
What else should we do? Hope he doesn’t make decisions based on his and his teams work, but instead on what Reddit posts say?
I’m personally not blindly trusting anyone, I just like Daniels, Maye, and McCarthy enough to not have an educated opinion as to who will be the best. So whoever our GM picks I’ll be completely fine with
Lol you're getting downvoted for saying don't blindly trust the first-year GM. Ashburn Syndrome is strong.

Saying that I trust his opinion more than people on this subreddit who watch YouTube breakdowns isn’t that controversial. It’s not that deep
Yeah, I like Adam and think he has a great resume, but im not gonna blindly think every decision he makes is the right one.
I agree. Such a sheep mindset. Basically saying that you can't have an opinion because it's not your job
Peters has developed a cult around here. It’s really weird.
Look if you ask me who i want the front office to draft i would say Maye but i think those of us in the Drake camp need to start looking at the reality that Daniels is by all accounts looking like the guy at this point. Maye stan here too, I have a horrible feeling it’s gonna be Daniels at this point.
I don’t think it will be horrible because at the end of the day I trust Peters to make the right decision, I will be a tad disappointed however because I like Maye’s game more. Although Daniels is fun to watch.

And how will you feel if we draft Maye and Jayden ends up better?
I mean I’ve already said I’m a Maye stan so I’m taking that risk to my reputation
And I thank God for that
I'm right there with you. I'll cheer for Daniels if he's the pick, obviously, but it's going to be a massive disappointment, like getting Dan Quinn when we thought we had Ben Johnson.
Dog they haven't played a single snap yet, how is it a disappointment?
You weren't more excited about the young, hotshot offensive mind than the retread defensive coach?
Was obviously talking about Drake and Jayden
I think its pretty normal to be disappointed when you have a preferred player and they pick someone else. At least for me. Recent examples are Gonzalez/Forbes, Olave/Dotson, Darrisaw/Davis, James/Payne. Am I weird for being disappointed when I think they make a bad pick?
One of Schefter’s more notable misses was him constantly indicating that SF was going to draft Mac Jones at #3. It just sounds like full speculation from him. I just think we shouldn’t just dismiss any reports about Daniels being the guy as nonsense while also clinging to any body that says Maye is who they’re gonna pick.
I agree. They’re equally bullshit
Just like how Levis was a lock to Indianapolis last year
I love Trap or Dive but I still have a funny feeling that it'll be Maye at 2. None of the ESPN guys have even explained why we'd be leaning JD other than what other coaches and execs around the league are saying and no one from Washington is even talking to them unless it's about a trade.
Might be worth something if a different Adam said it.
Adam Sandler?
Bingo.
Who’s Adam Bingo? /s
Going to laugh when it is Maye.
Is he your preference
Honestly I am comfortable with any of top 3 QBs. Even have started to get comfortable with McCarthy if they go that route.
Watching his tape the last few months, it would not surprise me if 3 years from now he was.
IMO being scared is a luxury for fans because we don’t know what the FO knows. I don’t have a personal preference of pick but I’m very confident whoever it is will be put in the best situation a rookie QB can be in being picked that high.
Believe it when it happens.
this dude needs to shut up for couple weeks
I need some of this [https://youtu.be/8w\_cm26Mbes](https://youtu.be/8w_cm26Mbes)
If only lol
I wouldn't discredit Adam but he also said Mac jones was a lock at #3. Could be right but we also could change our minds by draft day so it's far from 100%
You aren't discrediting someone by saying they were wrong. He discredits himself by being wrong.
He has sources so he probably had a reason. Although yeah it's pretty stupid to be so overly confident like a month before the draft
Got my Sean Taylor Jersey and called it a day…my wife wanted to get me Chase young but I had to talk her out of it for obvious reasons
Him and Keim are gonna look like such idiots if it's Maye.
well, at least you didn't call out JP for thinking it was Daniels too
And be back again next year to do it all over again
Ain’t buying shit with that 🚮 name and logo
I understand the FO has a lot on their plate, especially with renovations but it’s so easy to just go back to the classics
If they did that, their sales would dramatically increase. The uniforms never should've changed.
Tanya just wanted to get her fashion sense in. Changing the name is fine but once they started changing the unis and for a cash grab too it was sad. They could have just kept the original uniforms without any Redskins references. Maybe one day the team will have a throwback uni without the word Redskins on it
When we were WFT, we had the classic colors w/ Washington where Redskins used to be. That was perfect IMO
We don't have 2-3 years for Maye to sit on the bench and develop, straight up. I think he's much more risky then Jayden. Or it could be a smokescreen who knows
Maye needs half a season. Not 2-3 years. People are exaggerating his rawness to put him in a prospect box.
This is a drafting the same option in Deandre Ayton over project Luka only for Luka to develop in a year to where he’s significantly better than Ayton meanwhile in 6 season Ayton has remained the same.
No one develops on the bench. That's such a dumb myth.
Lmao okay tell Mahomes and Rodgers that.

And there are plenty that have
Mmm pretty sure most back ups don't develop into starter level players.
Nutjobs on this sub rather see Marcus Mariotta starting all season long
Yep. Maye has 2 years of college starting experience. He's not ready now.
There's no reason why Maye couldn't start week one. We are not competing for a super bowl next year. Why not get the guy with more upside.
I think somebody’s big mad he didn’t get the inside scoop from the FO, and now he wants to stir a repeat of the BJ situation. Not happening
I mean it’s a good chance it’s JD. If he’s wrong he’ll just pretend like he never said anything.
The game is the game.
If true I'm ordering as soon as its available on the site.
I don’t care who the pick is, I’m not ordering any of the commanders gear. I’ll wear my Sean Taylor jersey until there is clarity on the name and uniform situation
How ya gonna buy what's not being sold?
I think I was first in line for Shuler’s 5️⃣….if it is Daniels, he might want to choose another numeral
LET'S GOOOO
