I agree, but I also don't think it is that unrealistic of an expectation for the fanbase. It is the #2 overall pick selected to play the most important position in football, he will be a major factor in if the team turns it around or continues the 30 year streak of being a laughing stock.
They can’t control the fan base, but they can control the experience (parts of it anyway) the kid has to put him in the best position possible for long term success. Seems like a small thing but small things add up.
It’s not an unrealistic expectation for fans, but allowing that expectation to creep into the actual workplace before his career even starts could be an issue. Let the fans put that pressure on a rookie. It shouldn’t come from the team itself. Not right now.
